Herbert Cottage is right in the middle of everything Newlyn, an active yet picturesque fishing village with great restaurants & cafe has to offer. Just a short stroll to Penzance &short car rides to all the lhighlights it’s really well situated. Although centrally located it’s peaceful & quiet with everything you could want. Lenn was a great host

The cottage is well located, lovely and quiet (despite being close to the main road through Newlyn). It is very spacious for two people and has all the facilities and equipment you could need. Lots of useful information supplied by the host ahead of check-in. Would definitely recommend.

Nice location between Penzance and Mousehole. Very clean and had everything needed for all kitchen cooking. Sweet patio off sunroom. Many good restaurants near by, and good starting point for walks. Be awarer of steps up to bedroom and bath. We're in our late 60s and did fine but some folks might have trouble. We'd stay here again!

Loved all the art! The kitchen was just like being at home. Lovely sunroom and courtyard area. The bed was super comfy and the claw foot bath/shower was novel. The cottage is in a great position for seafood restaurants and walks along the coast.

The cottage was a charming little space, beautifully decorated and cozy, located a pleasant thirty-minute walk along the coastal path away from Penzance proper. It was a wonderful haven to return to after a day's tromping around the beaches and ports of Penzance and St. Ives, a delightful little home-away-from home. I'd happily stay here again.

Unigue property with an ideal location for anyone looking to sample life in coastal Cornwall. The cottage has it all : an owner with intimate knowledge of Newlyn and Penzance, a delightful space with no touch missing- from wickedly entertaining artwork to cozy charm, situated right beside the exceptional Cornish bus system and excellent local shops supplying fresh produce and the freshest, tastiest fish available, great eating places on the doorstep, and a kitchen wanting for naught! I stayed a month and wish it had been longer. Restful, restorative, a perfect get- away that is private but close to all.

I loved my stay at Herbert Cottage. Sunny conservatory overlooking well tended plant filled garden, gorgeous art throughout, stylish and absolutely spotless. Perfect location to explore surrounding area with no need for a car. Wonderful recommendations, clear communication and Immediate response to questions from Lenn.

This is a very cute cottage. It is very well equipped especially in the kitchen. The hosts are very helpful. Many restos nearby. The front door is up a small alley and you have to unload on a busy street. This can be done quite easily and then you park around the corner 5 mins away. The only caution I have is that if you have difficulty walking the stairs could be challenging.

Such a locely house to stay in - comfortable, quirky, fun and relaxing. Newlyn is a lovely place to stay, and there are so many other great places nearby. We want to come again so we can investigate more! We will be back! Not only this, but Lenn was brilliantly helpful at every point - couldn't have asked for a better property manager. A cottage of great taste

A quirky little cottage. Although it is small the rooms are all a good size. It well equipped to allow a comfortable stay. The owners taste is stamped on ever room but is friendly and welcoming rather than intimidating. It is a great base to explore this part of Cornwall with good walks. Perfect for visitors who want to be ‘out and doing’ as the downstairs only has windows onto the courtyard garden so not a place to sit and watch the world go by. The owner is charming and helpful and provides some great advice and what to do and where to go.

Coming back each evening to this charming, quirky and well appointed property with so many artistic delights, and comfortable furnishings helped to make our two weeks in this part of Cornwall even more memorable. Loved the fish inspired conservatory and pretty garden, both great places to sit and 'chill' at the end of a day's coastal path walking. Great little cinema round the corner too!

We found the cottage due to the excellent directions given by our host, up a small alleyway off the main street. The cottage had everything we needed and more. It had plenty of room but was cosy as well on those wet dreary evenings in autumn. I loved to sit and read in the small courtyard garden. The kitchen was well stocked and had every utensil imaginable. The location was ideal for Newlyn and just a short walk along the coast from Penzance, bus stop 10 paces from the front door. We enjoyed a meal at the local film house before the film. Also enjoyed the homemade ice-cream next door to the cottage. Local pubs were friendly and welcoming as was everyone we met in Cornwall. Would definitely visit again.

The cottage tucked behind the Flower Shop certainly met our needs. The art work within was fabulous. Everything was in working order except the art lighting. Our only complaint was the cleanliness of the kitchen. The stove top was dirty, greasy top of fridge and counters and the floors needed a good scrub. Otherwise the bathroom was functional but clumsy with the shower not enclosed. The internet was great, bed comfortable and TVs worked well. The town people (shop owners) were all friendly and helpful. The neighbor restaurants excellent and movie theater up the street great. The owner was helpful and responsive.

Herbert Cottage is a hidden gem that captivated our hearts the moment we opened the door. A sanctuary in the centre of Newlyn. It is a real home that wraps itself around you with its comfort and hospitality. The kitchen was well equipped the rooms had artwork and quirky touches at every turn. Subtle lighting spotify good WiFi a gorgeous bath and a very comfortable bed all added to the pleasure. The owner left information about the local area that helped us orientate and start discovering from the word go, very helpful as we were new to this part of Cornwall.Our visit was too short. We stayed in Lenn's flat in Newlyn for one week in September 2017. It's absolutely lovely. The flat itself has been newly re-done, with new appliances, a big television and great WiFi. The lounge is modern and comfortable. But it's the views that are truly awesome. The building is above the seawall and so there are unobstructed panoramic views out to sea. The side view is of people and dogs walking along a seafront promenade, with Penzance in sight as well. Newlyn is a pretty town and amenities such as groceries are very close by. Highly recommended.

Herbert Cottage is a truly beautiful home. It is full of paintings and other objets d’art produced mainly by local artists and are a delight to view. It is very well equipped and very comfortable to live in. Parking wasn’t a problem. Newlyn is a great place to stay and has so much to offer. There is excellent seafood available at the Tolcarne Inn and Mackerel Sky and also lovely cheese, fruit and vegetables from the local shops. It’s a great location for visiting beautiful beaches, coast paths and it’s not far to walk to both Mousehole and Penzance. Lenn is a very friendly guy and will give you plenty of advice and recommendations to ensure you have a great time. We hope to book the cottage again at some time in in the future.

It is a really quirky cottage full of lovely antiques and curios right in the middle of Newlyn and is very convenient for everything . A very comfortable bed with quality bed linen . We loved it !

Herbert cottage is the perfect Cornish hideaway. Nestled in amongst the main area of Newlyn the cottage is filled with eclectic artwork and decorative pieces it oozes charm and cosiness. The spatial design of the cottage is well-planned and perfect for two people. The ample lounge and conservatory areas are perfect for whiling away the time as the Cornish storms pass! We enjoyed our time immensely and hope to return soon!

A cosy cottage gem, hidden in plain sight.

You'd have to be made of stone or dried-up lawn clippings not to love every single little nook and cranny (of which their are many) of this truly lovely little sea-side cottage. The cottage itself is a charming treasure-trove of things to discover and delight in - from a brilliantly eclectic collection of art and ceramics, to lovely little cookbooks tucked into corners and drawers - and finished with a superbly kitted-out little kitchen (two aeropresses!) in which you can easily cook meals from the liberal amount of fresh Cornish produce you find a step away from your front door. I mean, really the cottage is literally right on the doorstep of brilliant little restaurants and pubs and shops and a stone's-throw from the water's edge. This has quite simply been my favourite little getaway spot to date. Also, Lenn and Gordon have an *excellent* list of advice and Things to Do which is definitely worth your attention. Thank you so much.

Das Cottage hat mit seinem Alter einen schönen, ursprünglichen Charme. Jeden Tag kann man neue Kunstschätze in der sehr persönlichen Einrichtung entdecken. Das Cottage ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man für einen entspannten und schönen Aufenthalt braucht, z.B.bequemes Bett, gut ausgestattete Küche, Badezimmer mit Badewanne, gemütlicher Innenhofgarten. Die Lage ist sehr zentral. Ein Supermarkt, tolle Spezialitätengeschäfte und empfehlenswerte Restaurants sind zu Fuß in wenigen Minuten zu erreichen.Der Kontakt zu Lenn war bereits im Vorfeld sehr gut und er versorgte uns mit vielen Tipps für Unternehmungen in der Gegend. Der Check-in kann selbstständig erfolgen, wir hatten aber das Glück, Lenn persönlich kennenzulernen! Auch während unseres Aufenthaltes war er immer erreichbar und kümmerte sich sehr individuell um unsere Wünsche und Fragen! Ein kleine Herausforderung für die Geduld ist die Parksituation in den engen und vollen Straßen. Dennoch war der Urlaub in Herbert Cottage ein tolles Erlebnis und ist absolut zu empfehlen. Danke!

Das Haus ist eine kleine Kunstgalerie. Gemütlich und liebevoll eingerichtet. Wir hatten kein Auto, was überhaupt kein Problem war. Die Bushaltestelle ist fast vor der Haustür. Die Busse fahren kreuz und quer durch Cornwall. Auch die Zugverbindungen von Penzance aus sind super. Alles was man braucht gibt's im Coop um die Ecke. Lenn, der Vermieter ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Kleiner Tip: Penzance Bike Hire Fahrradverleih. Penzance, Alexandra Road. Steve verleiht nicht nur Bikes, er macht auch Touren. Mit dem Rad oder mit seinem Van. Er kennt alle abgelegenen Schönheiten in Cornwall und kennt viele Geschichten dazu. Vielen Dank für diesen tollen Urlaub, Lenn. Liebe Grüße Claudia und Robert

Die Lage ist sehr gut für die unterschiedlichsten Wanderungen. Bei schlechten Wetter kann man den Tag im Cottage verbringen ohne sich zu langweilen. Man kann beim Baden entspannen, oder lesen, oder eine Mahlzeit aus einheimischen Fisch zubereiten. Der Urlaub in Herbert Cottage ist ein Erlebnis und sehr zu empfehlen.
