Guesthouse Bec Villi

We had such a lovely time at Guesthouse Bec Villi – this place has so much charm, and we loved every bit of it. The garden is gorgeous, the room was lovely, and the food was really good. The hosts were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay.

One small suggestion: it would be great to have some healthier breakfast options, as quite a lot of it was deep-fried. The cash-only policy is a bit of a downside, but the hosts were incredibly helpful about it – they even walked us to a friend’s place nearby that had a card terminal.

The property itself is beautiful. The hosts have a lovely patio area over looking the town of Theth and the mountains. They served an amazing and very filling breakfast with more than enough food for 2 people (they were very gracious)! The hosts were friendly and there were some cute cats roaming around! The stay itself was a close drive to Theth with food and hikes. Overall, I would recommend this stay.

I reserved this room on Booking with a credit card on file. It was not clear that we would be paying for the room in cash on site the day of check out. We then had to frantically find an ATM to withdraw from and ended up being charged extra fees for using an ATM. Booking’s website did say that we would “pay at property” and that the Guesthouse is “cash only”, but it was not clear that it would be cash only to pay at the property (as opposed to paying at the property for additions like drinks or other extra services). I believe this is more on the platform than on the Guesthouse themselves. The Guesthouse staff was patient and understanding of our need to go into town for an ATM. The road to get to the Guesthouse was rough, rocky, and narrow. Despite this, we and many other guests were able to get there in our standard, small rental cars.
