It was tastefully decorated.

The photographs were very misleading and must have been shot on an ultra wide lens because it was a bit of a shock on entering and seeing how small the room was! The other challenge was the noisy road from traffic. So much so it wasn’t possible to sleep with the window open. The room needs a bread knife.

Filthy Accomodation - Avoid

I have been using booking.com for over 20 years and I can honestly say this is the dirtiest accomodation I have ever been unfortunate enough to stay in.Where do I start..... mildew in the shower, bathroom floor and window filthy, paint marks and spills on the floor and walls, stains on the rug, table dirty and badly chipped, cob webs everywhere and the worst of all was the stains on the bedshheets absolutely disgusting. Outside wasnt any better weeds around the door and the windows and wi dow sills looked like they hadnt been washed in years. This property should be removed from booking.com I wouldn't leave my dog in it ! This site would was only allow me to attach 4 photos.

Great location but emphatically somewhere to rest your head, rather than a 'home' for a few days

Location was terrific (seven minute walk from the Old Course) and I was lucky with the adjacent parking. The 'breakfast bar' arrangement with the high chairs was nice too (although clearly designed for adults) and the bed was comfortable. Excellent TV!

The bathroom (especially) and the hallway areas could really do with freshening up, as could the kitchen equipment. It's also very unusual to arrive at a property like this (after an 8-hour drive) and not find (at least) a pint of milk in the fridge, I couldn't find the switch for the bathroom light (or the bulb had gone) and I never got the property acceptably warm, which was doubtless my error.

Wonderful stay near St Andrews, superb location, comfort and hospitality

We had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb, conveniently close to St Andrew’s University, West Sands, East Sands, the Old Course, and the very friendly St Andrews Baptist Church — which is a must-visit for its heart-warming people and welcoming church community. The host was very helpful in guiding us through the use of appliances and even surprised us with custard donuts — a thoughtful gesture we really appreciated. One gentle feedback is that we would prefer to be notified before the host enters the apartment, as we weren’t around at the time and our belongings were left outside. Likely just an oversight in friendliness, but worth keeping in mind for guests’ privacy. Overall, recommended for location, comfort, and hospitality.

Not easy to spot the unit at first since No. 21 is at the basement level (we initially only saw 22 and 24). A small sign outside would really help future guests.

Lovely location, really close to the main street. Lovely little studio. Beds, pillow and super comfy and clean. Everything we needed was there. Fluffy, clean towels. Smelt nice when you walked in. With the bonus of air-conditioning.

Everyting was almost perfect, with these two remarks/exception. The toilet ring was made for a totally different and much smaller toilet. The hot water switch should have been marked, so that we would understand how and where we can get hot water.

The property is described as a ‘studio’. The reality is that it’s a cramped basement room with a kitchenette at the foot of the bed and a shower and toilet in a small flat-roofed extension. The shower room has black mould growing in it with an eccentric hot water system. The property is just feet from a busy and very noisy road. Little if anything has been done to dampen the noise of the road and of pedestrians passing by late into the night. The thin curtain does very little to block the light from the bright street lamps on the road above.

Disappointing and noisy

This is referred to as a 'studio' and an 'apartment'.. Its a basement bed-sit, with a twin bedroom, kitchenette and table in one room and a bathroom. No TV. How it was rated at 9.3/10 is beyond me. There is road noise continuously from 6am to 11pm, with occasional traffic at 3-4am. The sink tap in the bathroom is the electric heater type, which I couldn't get to work. The steps and small courtyard at the front don't appear to have been swept for months. And all this for just £140 a night!!!!

The two beds are actually 2 single mattresses on a double/kingbed frame. 2 lovely bruises on my shins as I took the inside bed. I thought they were twin beds but beware as they are not - 2 lovely struts hidden by the covers. Apart from that good value for money and pleased with the facilities. 👍
