Great for Business Travels - Not so good for families.

This hotel seems to be geared up for business events & guests. As a family we only used the facilities of our rooms after long days out in the area. The rooms were a generous size, aesthetically pleasing with its trendy pieces but not overly practical. (i.e., in the suite – the toilet is squeezed in, rug too close to wardrobe that you need to move it to gain access to safe/ clothes and the beds have memory foam mattresses, which are too soft if you have back problems). The orientation of the hotel is stunning, with beautiful sunset views from our terrace, and the kitchen garden from the double. Noticeably quiet when windows are closed and air con on, you cannot hear other room noise. The air conditioned did become very noisy at one point, so we turned off) but lovely to have a cool room to arrive to on such a sweltering day, water and coffee capsules to enjoy a nice cuppa in the morning.

What let it down was when booking 3 weeks earlier, and requesting rooms together, booking a double suite and a twin (as were travelling with our Teens). This was highlighted in booking.com and further emails sent directly to hotel email, but the emails returned with an “Out of Office” message dated for the previous month! There was no description that accommodation was spread out over two buildings and around meeting facilities, so when I received an email on day of arrival saying that our rooms will not be together but in different buildings, I wasn’t too happy as felt this SHOULD have been addressed much earlier than the afternoon we arrived! They stated they could however accommodate us if we paid an additional 60 Euros. As this is also an OUT OF OFFICE hotel, ( no reception staff on site) we were also reliant on receiving a code to get in, which we hadn’t received so we needed to flag down a member of staff on arrival, who after a while directed us to a phone to communicate with an English speaking person. (After what seemed like a lengthy discussion, and starting to contact local hotels for accommodation, we got our booked suite and a double room next door. Unfortunately, the experience did taint our views of OFF HOTEL Wavre, as when paying in excess of 100E more per room per night to other local hotels, we did expect a service to at least match others. Being highly organised with our travel arrangements and letting them know of our arrival time etc I was very disappointed to be in a position of being over a barrel on arrival when after a very long hot day (1, all we wanted to do was check in, have a cool drink, eat and relax! .. and 2, it should have been dealt with when booking was made, giving me the choice to book a more suitable accommodation for my family and allow us all a smooth check in on arrival, as we had with all other hotels we stayed in Belgium.

Overall pleasant stay

We had a very spacious room with nice view, the room was clean, had everything we need. there was a coffee machine there but no kettle to boil water for tea or tea bags. overall, pleasant experience. there is a nice restaurant in the same area. the only inconvenience is that there is no one at the reception and I wanted to ask for an adaptor for my phone charger.

Very small room , after taken the shower water was everywhere, nobody anywhere , no possibility to get anything to eat to drink because was someone birthday party , around hotel no open any restaurant of bar at Sunday.

Everything was perfect with this place. Nice location, beautiful scenery, smell of forest in the morning, nice people; overall great accomodation.

The only thing we didn't like is that the breakfast was a bit expensive. You could find everything you want to eat, it was sufficient, but still not €20 worth. Yet, of course you don't have to buy the breakfast package to reserve a room.

Disappointing

Convenient code-based entry without keys, although I felt a bit uneasy about the combination chosen. Very comfortable beds and spacious rooms. WiFi was decent and with good speed. (20-30 Mbps) Plenty of parking at the venue.

Staff was unhelpful most of the time, if they were present at all, as one day there was no one at the reception and no one picked the phone for about an hour (before I gave up). The room wasn't cleaned not even once during my three night stay. One of the days I asked for an iron, they promised to bring one up and an hour later after I asked again, they shrugged shoulders and said that they only had one and it had broken down. Apparently no one thought it would be a good idea to replace things when they break, or to at least inform customers in order not to make them wait in vain. The hotel is a road hotel and there's almost nothing around. The room was a bit dark for my taste - the fixtures were cool but few and not very powerful.

Pleasant hotel.

Only had 1 breakfast out of so many days.

Due to location, not many choices of food. The restaurant next to the hotel was also closed on some days. Requested for a microwave oven to heat up packaged food and was provided, but the oven ought to have been cleaned up before being placed there.
