Was locked out of the hotel as the door key didn’t work so I had to stay at a friends house sleeping on the couch.

Extremely good value for money, excellent location.
It’s at the budget end of local hotels so please realise it’s on a busy roundabout. However it had secondary double glazing so not too bad. For the price it’s amazing.

Tidiness so perfect 👌

The family room was really a suite with two bedrooms, each with its own shower. A separate toilet served both bedrooms. We loved the family room, spacious and comfortable.
Breakfast was only so-so, with drip coffee that was not so good. But the spacious and comfortable family room, the character of the property, and the friendly staff made up for the average breakfast.

Nothing !
Smelt musty, room was cold 2*c outside and arrived to no heating on & window wide open, even after 3 hours it hadn’t warmed up enough and I slept fully clothed.
The staff member I spoke to was polite but not helpful. I can highly recommend Premier inn just up the road - won’t be returning here !

Near the railway station, central to the town, friendly staff.
Abit shabby, creaky floorboards, etc.

Easily accessible from the train station. Excellent value for money. Includes the option to add a breakfast for a very small fee. Cute rooms.
The reception was closed when we wanted to check out (but we could just leave the room key in a box, which was helpful).

Location perfect for my need to access the town centre
The most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept ( or rather couldnt) on. Really difficult to see the car park entrance in the dark. All a bit grim , grey and uncared gor.

It was clean
On entering the room we were extremely surprised by the size. It was a very cramped space which almost resembled a corridor for two large men there was hardly any space and for £80 a night we feel it was extremely bad value. The view out of the window was also terrible.

Not a lot
Door to bathroom hanging off with sawdust on floor. Bedroom just big enough for bed, Kettle supplied in room but unable to put under tap for water, so no coffee. We did not have breakfast due to hospital appointment. Car parking extremely tight Our rating 2 / 10

Great Location in the Center of Town. Good Value Breakfast
Breakfast room layout needs a bit of attention. Nowhere to put lids of Gastro Trays when trying to fill plates.

Good location for the town centre, castle & river.
- The bathroom smelled of sewage with the stench coming out of the drain in the shower
- When I turned the shower on a huge fountain of water sprayed from the pipe under the shower head over the cubicle & onto the floor.
I had to shower with the shower head facing the wall to stop a flood
- I had to decide whether I wanted the curtain gap in the middle of the window or at both sides as the curtains weren't wide enough to fit the window size.
- I came back from work & found that my room door had been left wide open all day by the cleaners.
When I complained to the staff at reception they said they would post in the staff WhatsApp group.
The next day the same thing happened to my colleague.
Fortunately nothing was stolen but I feel that this negligence is unacceptable
- when having breakfast my colleague dropped her spoon. The cook said that she drops the utensils on the kitchen floor all the time.
- The cook went straight from emptying the hoover bag into the kitchen.

The room was dated and the bed mattress should have been disposed of years earlier
Breakfast was cold both mornings,

The women on the front desk was polite, obviously not her first experience of someone checking out straight after seeing the rooms.
Filthy dirty. Smelt of damp.

The staff were lovely and the beds were comfortable.
The shower was in the room instead of a separate room and the walls could have done with a lick of paint.
5.0 / 10.0
It’s a very economical room, it was clean. New bathroom, though temperamental shower.
Room overlooking a very busy road and over a pub, the music made the room vibrate until past 22:00 but then again, it is a pub so that’s to be expected.
Other than that: run down room, paint coming off the walls and terrible spring mattress that was very uncomfortable. Parking is charged at £5 which is rather just be included in the room.
