Good restaurant with lovely staff. Enjoyable evening meal and breakfast. All staff throughout the hotel went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Good car park facility. Lovely old building with character - though it smelled a bit old and musty in some of the corridors!

There was a noisy extractor fan somewhere that came on at various times through the night.

Overall a nice stay

Room was on the top floor. Quiet and comfortable. An ensuite twin. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was great with some cereals and pastries available and a waiter coming to ask you for your choice of cooked breakfast.

Reception was okay but there was lack of information about dinning after 10pm on the area. Car park was small but we were lucky in getting the last place available.

Would 100% recommend to anyone

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful; nothing was too much for them. The bed in my room was really comfortable and great pillows too, which made a change from most other 'reasonably priced hotels'. The bar was well furnished and provided a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I've had in a long time! I had salmon and scrambled eggs and they didn't skimp on the salmon.

Some of the decor in the rooms and corridors looks a little tired, and some of the lighting could be a little brighter, including only having a single wall light in my room, but I'm just nitpicking. It was good value.

Well refurbished, comfortable and memorable

The bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent. The staff at the hotel were really friendly and helpful, including about letting us in when we got back late. The hotel has got a lot of character (which I realise might include being a bit inaccessible for some, with all the little staircases, but we liked it).

Ok for one night

It was too hot in the room to sleep when we stayed here, we were given a fan in the room however this didnt make much difference. The room itself, whilst the decor was fairly outdated was very clean (except the cups provided with the kettle for tea and coffee, we had to wash these ourselve before using) and staff super friendly. We only stayed 1 night and breakfast was nice in the morning also.

evening meals took a long time to arrive,. Obviously all cooked fresh with no reheating. This is a plus point but needs to be factored in by ordering well before (30 to 40 minutes) the desired eating time. No lifts to upper floors may be a problem for some guests.

Ideal location for the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Clean comfortable and spacious room. Excellent breakfast and evening meal.

Pleased to support the Mariners on their long renovation journey. We ate dinner, which was ok, but wait until desert!! The Pavlova was amazing,deliciously melt in the mouth meringue. 100% recommended for sheer pleasure. We slept well although it was incredibly hot.

Positively loathe having to climb into a bath to take a shower. Walk-in showers please. It was a very busy evening, so had to take the room.

A very comfortable hotel in every sense. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Our room was very spacious with a wardrobe/dressing room area, separate bathroom , a large bed and a sofa. There was a nice bar which served good quality meals.

Some areas could benefit from updating, but this didn’t negatively affect our stay.

Sadly, my Steak and Ale Pie was not brilliant. The shortcrust pastry was a bit rubbery and the meat was dry. Rest of the meal was lovely!

It was a really enjoyable stress free night, comfy bed, great shower, fab breakfast with great staff

Generous portion at breakfast, of smoked salmon and scrambled egg with pot of tea including hot water and little jug of milk. I could also have had fruit, cereals and yogurt, along with fruit juice if preferred. There was also the full English but I didn’t opt for it.

The room furnishings were a little shabby and dated, but still comfortable. Good bathroom.

Location very central. The hotel was clean and staff helpful. Food was enjoyable and good value for money. Breakfast was excellent. Overall the facilities and food were excellent value for money.

No lift to top floor, the weather was hot and the top floor was extremely warm. No fan or even a bottle of water. Would have been a lovely idea to offer residents a glass of iced water if required. I appreciate the weather is out of or control.

It was drab and dismal. Everywhere is in need of refurbishment. The bathroom had nowhere to put toiletries. The toilet rocked and banged whenever it was sat on. One of the towels was stained. The kettle was one side of the room, the cups, teabags/coffee/sugar etc were on a little shelf the other side of the room. The bed was hard and the pillows harder. No lift because it’s a listed building means lots of stairs.

The double room we booked didn’t quite look like the room we had , in pictures had a sofa etc ours was bed and desk. Which is fine! But we was expecting a sofa simply from the pictures. Thank you!
