We loved the property because it looked like a cave

The location in Matera is perfect. Central but not close to the nightlife, high enough to get great views, very close to the road so you don't have to lug your bags too far when you arrive and leave. The bed was literally the only soft and comfortable one we've had in the whole of Italy, it was worth it just for that! The staff are lovely and very helpful.
Soundproofing wasn't great, we could hear every word our neighbours said and unfortunately they weren't very considerate late at night. The hotel staff were very responsive about it though. No coffee in the room.

It’s conveniently located to all the restaurants
The air conditioning did not work well and when we complained, nothing was done. Also, a lot of flights of stairs to lug your luggage up.
