Secret Garden Bungalows

Beautiful gardens, lots of birdlife, very quiet at night. As a solo traveller, I felt comfortable and secure. Staff very helpful and friendly. Basic accommodation, but comfortable and clean. And a good dive centre - Big Fish Diving - on site!

I had last stayed at Secret Garden Bungalows in 2019 and was delighted to come back. It was exactly as it was before, which I loved. So many places have been 'poched up', whereas this is just the way it was, complete with open air shower in a private area around the back. The location is great, central to Jungutbatau and a stone's throw from the beach. I felt totally safe walking around at night. You can also book a snorkelling trip through reception with a previous diving instructor with them (Big Fish) who has set up in business on his own. Lovely man and well-organised. Big Fish still do diving, and one day I saw people in diving gear in the pool, practicing. Wonderful! :-) Breakfast is served on the little terrace in front of your room. If you like good, basic, back-packer type accommodation, this is your place! I fully recommend it.

Stayed here for 8 nights - the location is excellent for diving and boat tours, lots of nearby restaurants and a 1 minute walk from the beach. The staff and locals are wonderful, and there is no noise pollution. Will definitely stay here again!

This is a very nice lush green compound and the small huts are cute. Ours had a large round bed and an open bathroom which we liked. The bed was softer than usually in Asia which we found very comfortable. It almost feels like a private pool in your own garden and is nicely quiet. The owner is a kind fellow and my boyfriend enjoyed two diving lessons as there is a diving center connected. It is very close to the Arthamas ferry company which easily allows to catch a ferry to Sanur.
