Wonderful stay with great staff and a perfect location to see the Olympics in Livigno

The staff was amazing and very warm, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel has a charming traditional mountain style, and our room was cozy and comfortable. The location was very convenient, just a 10 minute walk to the main bus station and 5 minutes to Coop and Denner, which made it easy for us to take the bus to the Olympics in Livigno every day. Breakfast was good, with nice options like hot fruit tea and yogurt, and eggs available as well.

The only small thing to mention is that the sleigh bed might be a bit short for someone over 200 cm tall, but it added to the cozy alpine charm of the room.

Lovely stay at the edge of the Swiss National Park

Breakfast was typical for the area, served buffet style in a lovely room (with a patio, but no one was using that when I was there). Good coffee. The hosts are friendly and helpful. Zernez is a very quiet little town, with superb access to the Swiss National Park, whose visitor center is just a short walk from the hotel. There is a Coop for your grocery needs, a bank, a post office, a couple of restaurants. I was in a room that shares a toilet (one floor below) and a shower (two floors below). These were always available to me and well attended. The room was very nice, all that I needed. There is a train station, as well as bus stops, and a dedicated bus to the park, just across from the visitor center. Public transportation in Switzerland is the best I've seen, anywhere, and the SBB app is brilliant.

There's no pharmacy closer than Sargans, a 90-min train ride away - so come prepared!

Warm atmosphere in the heart of the Swiss National Park

Host was very friendly and gave us a very warm welcome. The host even offered an upgrade and asked about specific breakfast times since we were the first guests to arrive. The breakfast covered all our wishes and the room was spacious and comfortable.

Cosy family home in totally suitable village atmosphere

The room was cosy, though ultra- basic. Lovely wooden family home, very good food served in their restaurant. Yummy breakfast too.Friendly hosts

No Wifi in bedroom (single room). I feel the ultra basic room was overpriced, but maybe that’s just Switzerland, as others say .

Good starting point for a four day winter hike.

As a starting point for a four day winter hike in Engadin it is good. The hotel is one of the few open at this time of the year. It's small and charming and is being run by an Italian couple that previously ran a mountain cabin but were tired of the snow, the wolves and the loneliness in winter. The place has a comfortable atmosphere and you are being warmly welcomed. Italian style. So positive. The menu is not big but cooked with passion and the taste flambé was good. Breakfast next morning went down well and so I was ready for the walk.

I would have appreciated a bit of a wider choice for the menu as well as the wine but given the season i can also understand why that was not the case.

Good value room, perfect for cyclists

We were greeted warmly by Silvia, the young hostess who speaks perfect English - as well as German, French & Romansh. Our room had a superb view of the mountains. It was quiet and clean. Our tandem bicycle was accommodated in a easily accessed bike garage. Excellent breakfast, important for hungry cyclists. Good value for Switzerland.

We loved Hotel Alpina

We had such a wonderful stay of 2 nights in Hotel Alpina. We highly recommend this hotel. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We had a bigger room necause we were 3. The beds were so comfortable and in the night it is nice and quiet. I think the highlight of our stay was the delicious breakfast in the mornings. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Zernez and the National Swiss Park.
