The view and sunset from this hotel are fabulous. The breakfast was plentiful for 200 Baht—the trust book for recording what you take from the refreshment and snack cupboard is a nice touch. The pool was a refreshing treat.
We were collected from our previous accommodation by the owner, Andrew. He seemed to be in a particularly bad mood, swearing and cussing tourists all the way to his resort. It didn't make us feel very welcome. The room was small, and once we got our bags in there was little space left to get around. The bed was very hard, causing us both to get very little sleep. The mosquitoes, I know, go with the territory, but they were hard to escape, even in the room. Perhaps some plug-ins in the room and some smoke rings would be useful whilst sitting out admiring the view. The resort is up a very steep hill and quite a way from restaurants, the main town or beaches. A scooter or pay 300 Baht each way for a taxi is definitely needed.

The view is very nice and the lodge is bug free. The pool facilities look good although we didn’t have chance to use them.
The room we stayed in felt like sleeping in a shed. It was really small with not much room to put luggage. The shower wasn’t very powerful or warm. Also the sheets could have been of better quality. The location is up a very steep hill which is tricky to get up using a scooter, still doable though and means that the view is good. Overall I feel you can get places to stay in Koh Tao that are better, for less money.

When I arrived after the official check-in time, I was ignored in favour of walk-in guests. When I asked to continue check-in, the man presumed to be the owner became extremely aggressive - shouting and actual threw my luggage across the floor, one by one, including my laptop and camera, with no regard for my belongings. Staff then made rude gestures as we left.
The walk-in couple who witnessed the incident were so uncomfortable that they left the property with me. The pool was yellow, the place looked run-down, and nothing matched the photos online.
I’ve reported this to Booking.com as I strongly believe the property shouldn’t be advertised while that individual is managing it. His behaviour poses a clear safety risk to guests.
Don’t be fooled by the pictures, avoid at all costs.

Great views and lovely staff who took the time to show me how to use the moped. Bungalow was simple and comfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sairee View Resort to the fullest.
The host Andrew and his crew are enormously friendly and very supportive with every wish we had. We found it especially nice that Andrew took his time and talked to us for a while about diving and life in Thailand in general.
Good to know: he is also a very experienced SCUBA diving coach.
The rooms are clean, spacious enough for a short stay and the view from our room was breathtaking.
The pillows could be a little more fluffy and comfortable.
Other than that, no complaints whatsoever.

It was private and the host was lovely and super friendly and helpful
The only thing was the room only had a fan so it felt a bit like a sauna trying to sleep at night

Perfect relaxing spot with an amazing view& the best sunsets! Our room was basic but just what we needed for our stay, all staff were amazing& very hardworking.
It didnt affect us but you definitely need to be comfortable riding a motorbike as the hill is quite steep to walk!

Terrific couple of chilled nights spent at SVR !
Exceptional service and hospitality from Peay, Andrew and staff at this very quaint, peaceful, quiet, clean and friendly resort tucked up on the hillside with majestic views, not too far from town.
Highly recommend for this budget. Cheers guys !

Overall this place is fantastic close to everything but also out of the way nice and quiet with an amazing view everyone there including the manager and all the staff are so greeting and welcoming. Will definitely be coming back. The Australians love it.

Sairee View Resort is a beautiful place. The view is amazing, rooms are clean and comfortable, facilities are great & all organised really well. Unfortunately we didn’t read enough reviews and didn’t realise it was on a steep hill therefore we needed bikes which we weren’t willing to rent. Completely our fault, I’ve forgotten the guys name but a lovely Canadian guy welcomed us and explained thoroughly how everything worked. He offered to show us how to ride the bikes however we personally didn’t want to. Was the warmest welcome we’ve had since being in Thailand. 100% recommend this accommodation if you have a bike!
Nothing!

Beautiful views and helpful staff. They helped me with the scooter and with laundry and other questions I had throughout the stay. Would recommend for a couple or someone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Sairee beach.
You NEED a scooter- you cannot get around without it. I learned on the island by the host who was patient and kind and made me feel confident enough to go out. Mostly no traffic around the hotel but there is a steep ascent and people walking in the middle of the street at night by Sairee beach. Otherwise doable if you’re confident on a scooter or on a bike and want to learn.

Absolutely nothing. The owner or manger andrew is rude talks to you like you are a child. No care there guests that stay there the room was old depressing and nothing worked. The location is horrendous tucked away up unlit steep dangerous roads.
As mentioned above it was the worst stay we've ever had anywhere. Avoid this place at all costs. The Canadian manager/owner lays down the law to you right from the beginning. You feel like you are liturally staying on his land and must abide by his rules.

Andrew was really nice and provided a lot of info about the island in clear English :) (he is Canadian), the view from the pool is amazing, we also rented a bike from them and used a taxi from and to the pier.
Important to know that u need a shampoo, a pool/beach towel and they prefer to change towels after 3 days (though u can request before), also important to know that it is up heel and has some distance from center so I would very recommend using a bike.

The whole crew is super friendly, helpful and always around with a smile. We spent nearly 3 months there and we were so happy about our decision:) the location is very quiet and the view is great. 100% recommend it (when you can drive a scooter).

Beautiful views and far from the party centre. I was a bit hesitant booking this place because of the up heel location but after spending one evening in Sairee beach I was glad I’m far away from it. Also, the host is really knowledgeable about the island and can recommend you some nice places or help with booking a taxi

Amazing sunset view
Very comfortable bed
Bike rental available
Our host was helpful and arranged to book us a tour. This is a common tour available from many places on the island however it’s convenient to book it there and then with pickup at the hotel at the same price you would book it anywhere else.
You really need a bike rental to stay here. Otherwise you’ll be in taxis several times a day. It’s up a very steep hill about a 20-25 minute walk from town. Worth getting a taxi from the pier when you arrive.
Power dropped a couple of times.

Our hosts were amazing! If we needed help with anything like snorkeling trips, bike hire and restaurant recommendations our hosts helped give us the best option for value. Couldnt have been any better for us we are super appreciative of them
Wifi was a little slow in rooms, but with a pool and a view like that there was no need to be on our phones for wifi

Lovely bungalows and pool great view. Kind helpful owners. Clean and comfortable. Quiet location.
Everything was great for us. Is on a steep hill so would recommend getting motorbike.

Lovely views from the mountains, very homely feel to the bungalows, Aim-on and Frank were the best hosts and Sav was very helpful to us as we can’t drive bikes!
A bit far from the town so would need to be able to drive a bike

The host was very nice and the hotel very quiet.
The hotel was in a very nice place BUT not 350m from Sairee Beach as It is written here. The pool and the rooms were not clean and the bed was not comfortable. It was too expensive for the location and services given.

very friendly management! the pool area was very clean, it was very quiet at night & it had amazing views of the ocean and the best sunset I have ever seen in my life. bring snacks as it’s far up a steep hill ;)
The bed mattress had two dents in it from where bodies lay.. it was quite uncomfortable (the room I had above the pool anyway) they need new mattresses and the pillows were lumpy & need replacing. also only experienced bike riders will make it up & down that super steep hill! lol

Lovely pool area, hosts were amazing and great price! A taxi was arranged for us from the ferry and he gave us his WhatsApp, giving us a quick and cheaper taxi than the normal price on the island for the rest of our stay. Sairee is also a great area to stay in!
In May, the Bungalows were very hot and a fan was not sufficient. I would recommend paying a little more and using their air-conned accommodation instead. The hill is also a little unforgiving but fine with a moped/taxi home.

we stayed here for 2 weeks. in a lovely spot just outside of sairee town. beautiful view from the room. good size rooms and bathroom. pool area is nice. I would recommend hiring a scooter as hill up to accommodation is steep

The manager of the hotel - who just took over apparently prior to my stay- was always there and around. She is an incredible person and manager and honestly made my stay what it was. So down to earth and willing to help. She makes an amazing breakfast! Property is secluded but still very close to the main town, and the scenery is gorgeous! I loved sitting outside and enjoying breakfast each day or when lounging around there. Would definitely stay again.
Slightly older place it seems like- stayed in a bungalow. Electricity went out quite a few times while there unexpectedly- apparently that’s normal on Koh Tao.
Not the best location for trying to get places unless you are comfortable renting/riding a motorbike - even then the resort is up a gnarly hill. Taxis are expensive anywhere to here.
The bed and bedding were very basic. My bed was slightly angled and only a small thin cloth/sheet provided.
Despite these- would absolutely stay again!
