A magical place to stay in a magical town

This place was dazzling. The location in the heart of the medieval district of Viterbo could not be more magical and central. The home itself is an ancient stone tower, yet the inside has all the modern comforts. The hosts were attentive, kind, effusive in their welcome. I just loved it.

A unique experience to stay in a medieval tower!

This property is an apartment within a medieval tower - very unique! The hosts were welcoming and very helpful, including facilitating visiting an subterranean storage area under a restaurant (ask Valter!). Valter provided us with wine and provisions - so generous and thoughtful. The location is within the medieval area of the town, which is gorgeous. Heaps of great restaurants close by. Free and safe parking was within walking distance - make sure you find the lift at the end of the purpose-made tunnel from the car park. Overall a great experience.

The bed was a bit hard for me - but a minor thing considering the overall experience of staying here.

Truly Great Hosts

Our host Walter is one of the kindest individuals we've met anywhere. Upon arrival, our rental car broke down and Walter helped sort out our situation and made sure we could get to the airport without any worries. When we got to the apartment, we were welcomed with wine, cornetti, and other snacks and goodies. I've been wanting to stay in a medieval tower house, and Walter's amazing apartment fulfilled that dream. His apartment is comfortable and well furnished. Its location is in the heart of the medieval / pilgrim district.

Amazing location, very comfortable, and a property we would certainly consider again on a return trip to Viterbo.

Great location in a medieval tower right in the very center of Viterbo’s historic district. Built in the year 1200 but updated to provide maximum living comfort. Cinzia and Valter are great hosts and provided all needed information. Snacks, sweets, and wine were waiting for us on arrival. Private parking can be reserved a 5 minute walk away just outside the restricted zone. Cinzia is a graphic artist and so the apartment is tastefully decorated with her works.

A great “reset” on the Via Francigena!!

This was absolutely the best place we stayed on the Via Francigena!! The medieval tower was truly special. The location is awesome to be close to great restaurants and shopping. Also close to laundry. The best part of this stay is Walter the host. He goes out of his way to help, to educate and make sure you have everything!! What a marvelous two day adventure and stay!! You must try❤️❤️

Wonderful location!

Wonderful location in Viterbo's medieval quarter. It is a nice apartment complete with amenities in a historic tower where you can see some old preserved artifacts.. All the major attractions and a supermarket are within 8-10 mins walk. Valter was very helpful to highlight the main areas to visit and gave good restaurant recommendations.

Exceptional

We stayed at Antica Dimora San Pellegrino for more than a week. Our stay was perfect! The location at the medieval district of the old city, near to all historical places - museums, squares and a very beautiful ancient streets. Grocery stores with local food and a restaurants with a great local kitchen are in a minutes walking from the tower. The apartment at the tower is good equipped with all you may need at your stay - the full modern kitchen, the renovated bathroom, the living room and the bed rooms. The hospitality of the owners is incredible - Valter gave us an excellent guide about Viterbo and surroundings, took us to some interesting places with the great explanations. Valter and Cinzia has small ceramic studio at the old city with Cinzia's ceramic beautiful art work. Great stay at Viterbo, will definitely visit it again!

Unique middleaged town and accommodation in an old tower!

The 900 years old tower was really unique and interesting place to stay and overnight. We had four rooms plus bathroom/toilet so we had space luxuriosly. The tower was near everything in the middleaged old town of Viterbo and you could walk anywhere in 5-10 minutes. There were many nice restaurants and bars around, and the evening life was vivid. There were a lot to see in Viterbo and nearby as well. On our first day we walked around Viterbo old town and visited for example the Popes Palace, The Cathedral and the theatre. on our second day we drove around the nearby area and visited among others the beautiful garden of Villa Lante and the most interesting ”Monster Park”. Our host and hostess Valter and Cinzia were most friendly, genereous and helpful all the time. Valter showed us really interesting sights we couln’t have seen by ourselves, and gave us very good tips and recommendations of where to go and what to see. Thank you so much Valter and Cinzia!

The tower had a lot of stairs and three stages, so it is not suitable for persons with injuries or bad condition. Luckily we could manage and enjoyed the stylishness and ancient atmosphere of our tower for three days.
