Beautiful location and cottage with a bed to die for!

Super comfortable bed (more comfortable than our own) and everything you need in the kitchen and living space. Lovely welcome tray and even a proper bottle of milk. Beautiful location. Excellent stay despite the storm! Easy access to all the beautiful places in the Lakes.

A perfect place to unwind in the North Lakes.

The accomodation is a part of a number of converted farm buildings in a picture perfect location. The views in every direction were open and showed many of the local hills and mountains. The property had everything you needed for a comfortable stay and it was very quiet at night,

Great place to stay.

Stable Barn is a beautiful little cottage. Very comfortable, clean and with everything you need for a lovely stay in the Lake District. Fiona is very welcoming and has put a lot of thought into the site.

The only drawback is that it didn't feel as private as we expected as people staying in the cottage next door were constantly walking past the large window. And on Saturday afternoon a group of about 6 other guests sat outside fairly near to us making us feel uncomfortable as they were seated pointing towards us. It did feel like we didn't have any privacy and they were quite noisy at one point. Not the fault of the owners by the way!

Beautiful location, cosy feel.

We could have done with an extra mattress for the baby cot as the one that came with the travel cot was quite hard, however we made a makeshift one and the baby slept well.

Lovely weekend get away

Stable Barn was well equipped for our weekend family stay. The house was spacious and comfortable, in the perfect location for exploring this area of the lake district. We will definitely be back as we didn't want to leave!

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting - highly recommended.

The views from the property were exceptional, the windows framed the beautiful scenery so even though it rained I felt so at peace looking out over the hills with my hot chocolate! The attention to detail in the barn was terrific and it was very clean and had a well stocked kitchen. Extra CD's, games and jigsaws provided in the laundry room were a nice extra. We met the owners when we arrived who were very welcoming and showed us directly to the barn. We would definitely stay here again.

Great views and location, brilliant property, lovely area.

The location and property was fantastic, The 7 buildings have been converted to accommodation of a high standard with large windows to see the fantastic views. Saw woodpecker, red squirrels, hares, pheasants and lambs, all without leaving the chair! The buildings are surrounded by lawns and a mowed field with plenty of seating areas outside so always some in shade if needed. Our dog enjoyed the walking around. We were in Stable Barn which has 2 very comfortable bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Kitchen was very well equiped, large dining table, ideal for games, and the lounge was great. It is on top of a hill, and the route up is via a track, but perfectly manageable for cars without 4 wheel drive. A great pub (Mill Inn) within walking distance and a bus route that was easy to get to on th A66, with various footpaths nearby. Location is ideal for visiting the Lakes with Ullswater 5 miles down a direct road, and an easy drive to Keswick (very fast EV chargers at Booths supermarket) and from the M6. Owners Mark and Fiona were on site, very pleasant and easy to get hold of if needed. Excellent wifi. Would love to come back at some point.

Rural quiet location, with lovely views. Good sized bedrooms and 2 bathrooms was great. The kitchen was well equipped.

It was no fault of the property but there were severe storms the weekend we stayed which meant it was difficult to sleep, but the building was so solid we felt safe inside.

A memorable Lakeside stay.

The barn was an exotic one. The tranquil surrounding was amazingly blissful. Good and hygenic toilets and the best quality beds made our stay a very memorable one. This destination is sure to be repeated.

There weren't any towels or toiletries. Since such a kind of experience was the first time to us, we were a little irked by the inevitable drive to Penrith town centre 16 miles away. But still the serenity of the place drove away any possible disenchantment we could have had.
