Casa Rina Cortona with large pool, large private terrace, beautiful views, WiFi

My husband and i stayed here for a week on our honeymoon in June and WOW!! Words can not express how beautiful this family and accommodation are! The cottages (there's 2) are clean and comfortable with 3 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and lounge room combined! Each cottage has its own alfresco dinning area which is lovely and the pool was amazing!!! But really what made this holiday was Rina and her 2 lovely daughters. I was really worried as we were travelling with our 8 month old baby and getting around Tuscany without a car can be difficult. But the daughters were so accommodating driving us into Cortona or to the train station if we needed. The station is actually an easy 20min walk where you are able to get to places like Florence or Arrezo or just wonder around the town of Camucia. The location is perfect bringing the essence of Tuscany and it's beautiful countryside yet at the base of Cortona which is amazing! Anyone staying here MUST have a meal prepared by Rina!!!! In our whole month around Italy we concluded Rina's food was by far the best!!! The cooking classes are also a must if anything to get the recipes so you can try to recreate it at home! I seriously cannot rave about this place enough and if I could give it 10 stars I would!!

Highly recommendable. We were a group of 7: my wife, 2 y.o. & myself + father in law & wife + my sister. The house we stayed in (Casa Lucia) accomodated us perfectly. I truly think the photography on site doesn't do true justice to the place. It is embedded into a working farm, which truly adds to the experience, and is very closely located to the wonderful town of Cortona. It is conveniently located if aiming at Central/Southern Tuscany. We visited Cortona, Pienza, Montepulciano and Lake Trasimeno while staying in this house, and they were all ~40 minutes drives at most. Three particular highlights: - Our hosts were excellent, fully attentive at all times. Meals can be requested at an additional cost, and this is something that I would HIGHLY recommend as the quality of Rina's cooking is amazing. - The pool is GORGEOUS. Truly wonderful. The photos don't do it justice. - The patio that Casa Lucia has makes it a highly enjoyable space overall, effectively expanding the actual used space of the house. All in all, would definitely recommend to all.

We had wanted for a long time, as frequent Italy visitors from the US, to have a relaxed, low key experience. Il Cipresso was the perfect fulfillment of that goal. Very conveniently located near Cortona, and the wonderful small hill towns of very southern Tuscany and nearby Umbria and Lake Tresemino, it could not have been more idyllic ! House was very well done, comfortable and equipped, but what made the stay was the wonderful Scateni family. The farm was beautiful, but the people made the visit. The house was well equipped, and many evenings after super day trips we would return to fix our own meals. But, on special nights, or after long days, the family would prepare amazing meals for us at very reasonable cost. We spent two weeks there, and some of our very best meals were prepared by Senoria Rina and her two delightful daughters. I only hope that we can return again. Cannot give enough stars.

Although this review is definitely overdue it is still easy to compose as the wonderful memory of the beautiful experience from this past September remains very fresh in our minds. My girlfriend and I went to Italy in late August/early September of this year (2014). The culminating point of the 3 week journey was to spend 11 days in the heart of Tuscany. The desire was to rest and relax and for myself as a second generation Italian American, spend quality time living amongst Italians in their own space and time and in their own way. The stay at Casa Lucia was the definitive guarantee of that desire being met. Our stay their was so warm and so inviting and so peaceful and so joyful that ending our stay there was a very difficult thing to do. The villa was the perfect combination of rustic yet comfortable setting we were hoping for. It held plentiful space for the two of us but also easily accomodated three family members from Australia whom we had invited to join us during their coinciding sojourn to Italy. With the absolutely beautiful produce shared with us by our warm and kind host, Rina, we cooked together, drank wine together and relaxed together. It couldn't have been more idyllic. The property was very well maintained and it was such a welcome respite from the US city living experience that is our day to day existence. The working farm provided a backdrop to an authenitc Tuscan experience that couldn't have been better had it been scripted. From the first point of arrival, our host, Rina and her daughters - Lucia and Martina - for whom the villas on the property are named, made us feel at home. They were lovely and intelligent young woman of whom their mother (and their Auntie who was also equally warm and fun and kind!) are well deserving of the right to be proud. They really displayed a sincere interest in making us welcome not as guests but moreso as visiting family friends. It was so much fun when first arriving to be offered delicous coffee and pastry by Lucia and Martina and to enjoy interesting conversation with them (in Italian!). Since we'd arrived late in the day I'd decided to take Rina up on her offer of providing to guests either breakfast or dinner with reserved notice. It was worth every single Euro! It was delicious and lovingly served by Lucia and Martina on the lovely terra cotta tiled piazza in the back of the house. The antipasti and the pizze - assolutamente incredibile!

We travelled to Italy for our 25th wedding anniversary with our three teenage daughters. Our stay at Il Cipresso was a perfect mix of great location and true hospitality. The location is perfect-- quiet with great views of Cortona, yet close enough to be in the center of Cortona in under 10 minutes. Even the village of Camucia had restaurants, a church, and the cooking school that we visited. As a base for exploring Tuscany and Umbria it is also well situated. We day-tripped to Pisa, Lucca, Florence (by train, also nearby), and Arrezzo and Assisi. There are dozens of other towns in Tuscany also close by as well. What really made our time standout however was the hospitality of our hosts. Rina and her daughters could not have been more welcoming or generous. The breakfast that we ordered was "the best breakfast that we ever had" according to our three daughters. The pool was very relaxing. The fruits and vegetables especially the tomatoes and basil, were molto delicioso. The house was very comfortable for our family of five. We truly hope to return to Casa Martina in the future. For now, we look at our pictures and remember our wonderful time in Camucia at Il Cipresso.

We stayed in Casa Lucia. The farmhouse could actually accommodate 6 comfortably in three bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, plus there is a sleeper couch for an additional 2 (so 8 in total). What we enjoyed most is the fantastic location - Cortona very close by (2 kms or so), and all other places such as Montepulciano, Orvieto, Perugia, within easy reach by car or train AND the fresh fresh just picked farm produce provided by the hosts. The tastiest tomatoes I have had...Oh and eating prunes fresh off the tree after dinner. The pool was fantastic as well. and we spent each afternoon cooling off from the heat of the day! The washing machine was handy, and we really really also enjoyed the outside barbeque (braai) on which we cooked our large T bone steaks! Nice outside dining area as well. The hosts also provided delicious pizza's made for us in the yard oven on our last night! Delicious. Gracious hosts and their daughters helped us tremendously with our translations from Italian to English. This is a working farm, so be prepared to wake up to the sound of the rooster, but why sleep when Tuscany and Umbria awaits? I would like to return in the near future and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Typisch toskanisches Anwesen mit allem was man benötigt. Flasche Wein zur Begrüßung. Nette Vermieter. Man braucht ein Auto. Wer geräuschempfindlich ist, sollte Ohrstöpsel zum schlafen mitbringen: Hauptstraße hinterm Haus und ein Hahn frühmorgens sorgen für Abwechslung. Nach ein paar Tagen haben wir, die nach vorn geschlafen haben, den Hahn zumindest kaum noch gehört. Alles in allem ein schöner Ort zum Urlaub machen mit tollem Pool.

Appartment op de eerste verdieping van het hoofdgebouw van een kleine agriturismo van drie appartementen. Grote ruimte, keurige keuken, voldoende keukengerei. Alles helemaal schoon. Heerlijk zwembad met goede en voldoende stoelen (deels overdekt voor schaduw), goede barbecue. Slaapkamer inrichting enigszins gedateerd. Minpunt was de aanwezige haan, waardoor we elke ochtend te vroeg wakker waren.

Een heerlijke vakantie plek. Mooi zwembad een top vakantie woning. De eigenaars zijn aardig en behulpzaam. Één puntje van aandacht is een betere WiFi en misschien een top matras op de matrassen leggen.

Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen. Es sind schöne große Wohnungen. Das Gelände ist schön und für Hunde super zum sausen. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit und würden wieder dort unseren Urlaub verbringen. Es ist wirklich sehr zu empfehlen.

Posto incantevole e proprietari Gentilissimi. 9 giorni passati in pieno relax, in un contesto dove le colline e la natura ne fanno da padrona. Grazie ancora di tutto.

Abbiamo scelto questo agriturismo perché aveva tutte le caratteristiche che cercavamo per far divertire i bambini e darci la possibilità di rilassarci. Una vacanza in 8 non è facile da gestire ma in questo contesto è andata benissimo!!! L’appartamento è grande, sempre fresco e ha tutti i comfort che si cercano in vacanza. La piscina bellissima, gli spazi per giocare e per riposarsi perfetti. Il barbecue fantastico!! Supermercati vicini e tanti posti da visitare. I proprietari sono stupendi e super disponibili !!! Lo consiglio a tutti quelli che vogliono godersi una splendida vacanza in campagna.

Ich habe mit meinem Mann und meinen drei Töchtern hier einen sehr schönen Urlaub verbracht. Die Wohnung war sehr schön, sehr stilvoll eingerichtet und sauber. Meine Kinder waren begeistert vom Pool. Die Besitzer wohnen mit auf dem Gelände. Sie sind sehr freundlich, geben Auskünfte über die Gegend und die Mama hat uns fantastisch bekocht mit eigenem Gemüse aus dem Garten. Wir haben zwei sehr schöne, entspannte Wochen verbracht.

Très belle location! Nous avons été accueillis par de charmants propriétaires: Lucia s'exprime en français. Nous avons pu déguster des pizzas et des beignets de fleurs de courgettes : délicieux! Pratiquement chaque jour, nous trouvions sur la table un panier de tomates accompagnées de branches de basilic, de la salade, des courgettes... production familiale. L'endroit est superbe, au fond d'une rue, entouré de tournesols et d'oliviers. Au loin, on entend passer le train. Cela ne nous a pas du tout dérangés car le bruit est très faible. Le gîte est fonctionnel, 2 couples peuvent y loger en conservant leur intimité. La piscine est superbe, comme sur les photos. A conseiller!!!! Famille Guérin Liège Belgique

Maison champêtre agréable à vivre avec trois belles chambres (la plus grande au 1er étage) et deux salles de douche modernes.Les propriétaires agriculteurs ne parlent qu'italien mais sont très gentils et hospitaliers.La maison est sur le même terrain que la leur et il y a une très belle piscine d'où la vue sur Cortona et la campagne toscane est très belle.Un train passe de temps en temps mais n'est pas gênant.Une pergola donnant sur des arbres fruitiers et une ferme voisine apporte beaucoup d'agrément au séjour. De belles excursions à Cortone, Arezzo, Montepulciano, Sienne et Florence permettent de découvrir la Toscane à des distances raisonnables.Attention: les directions pour s'y rendre sont insuffisantes.Seul point négatif: pas de vrai salon mais il est vrai qu'on ne va pas là pour rester dans la maison.Je recommande cette location pour une famille d'autant plus que son prix est raisonnable.

Die Wohnung ist sauber und schön im italienischen Landhausstil eingerichtet. Der Garten ist großzügig und nett angelegt. Die ganze Anlage ist liebevoll gepflegt und umsorgt. Es war alles vorhanden, was wir benötigten, v.a. auch Ruhe. Es waren zu diesem Zeitpunkt nur insgesamt zwei Wohnungen vermietet. Trotzdem sind viele sehenswerte italienische Städte (Cortona etc) in der Nähe, die interessant zu besichtigen sind. Wir können die Anlage nur empfehlen und würden auch wiederkommen.

Nous avons été très satisfait de notre séjour dans cette belle maison, avec des prestations très agréables. Nous étions 8 personnes, 2 familles, et chacune avait sa propre salle de bain. La propriétaire est vraiment très acceuillante et au petit soin pour ses locataires (cadeau à l'arrivée, cadeau au départ, et légumes de la ferme tous les jours) La piscine est très propre et est au calme, au milieu des champs. La maison est bien située, bref c'était de très bonnes vacances !

Attention, la maison décrite sur l'annonce est la plus grande et du coup, nous n'avions pas vu auparavant le lieu qui nous a finalement été destiné. Train à moins de 5 km avec passages fréquents, y compris la nuit. Odeurs d'hydrocarbures et remontées de puisard assez désagréables y compris dans la maison. La clim est en plus (annoncé dans le contrat) mais est facturée 20 euros par jour. Les beaux parasols de la photo ont été remplacés par des versions plus légères, peu protectrices et beaucoup moins jolies. Les propriétaires ne parlent pas du tout français ni anglais, communication difficile mais les paniers de légumes sont magnifiques. Accès facile aux lieux historiques. Mais nous ne retournerons pas dans cette location.

nous avons passe une excellente semaine dans cette location, la grande maison pour 7 personnes est tres fonctionnelle, avec ses 2 salle de bains, et avec sa terrasse exterieure couverte pour dejeuner et diner (en ete du moins). L accueil est tres chaleureux et nous avons pu beneficier de legumes frais en ete, ce qui etait tres agreable. On entend un peu la voie ferree qui n est pas tres loin, mais le trafic n est pas tres important. Je recommende cette location qui est un tres bon rapport qualite/prix je pense. la piscine est un peu en retrait des 2 villas, c est un plus je pense car on est au calme loin de la piscine, et on ne se gene pas entre les 2 familles habitant les 2 maisons en location.
