Could not use the car park as entrance not wide enough.

The food was good. Freshly cooked breakfast. Comfortable bed in decent bedroom. Staff very friendly. Pet friendly.
The shower room was tight due to age of property and the power assistance required for the plumbing noisy. Unfortunately we had to eat in a side room due to an evening event alongside paint pots, stored chairs and outdoor signs.

Good breakfast
view over churchyard
car parking
Good evening meal
ample food on the plate for a reasonable price
Very uncomfortable bed.
After 10 minutes of running the tap, there was still no hot water for a shower.
Had the bedroom window open at night as it was a warm room but the through traffic started very early. With the church bells not my best stay over for business meetings.

Needs updating. Mattress needs replacing and shower needs attention. Couldn’t regulate temperature.

Friendly staff extremely helpful. Property is a very old, charming and right in the centre of the town.
Food is fantastic from breakfast to dinner. All home cooked fresh on the premises. A special note for the steak & kidney pudding - outstanding needs be tried by everyone.
Rooms are comfortable and clean.
The pub has a lovely friendly vibe we noted all ages welcomed from babies in pushchairs to the very elderly.
Some parts are shabby and need attention. The landlord and family have recently taken over and are updating and decorating.

Just a tiny thing but the mattress was a bit hard for my old bones!

Nice that a full English was offered
It took a long time to arrive after ordering, nearly 40 minutes and wasn’t that hot. I would have liked if we were offered more toast. A juice while we waited could have helped.

Liked the staff a friendly lot. The food was good, drinks range was good. Good to park there.
Shower was so hot and couldn’t control it well. Rooms very dated and the furniture tired, our bed was very tired, but they had only been there a few months. There is a lot of work that needs doing to bring it up to a better standard.
The pub is very busy and the bar got very noisy, but we could sit in the dining area where it was quieter.

We had booked 4 nights bed and breakfast. The breakfast was good and the staff were pleasant, the room was large and had a lovely view of the church. Unfortunately the bed was very uncomfortable and we did complain after the first night and the mattress was supposed to of been changed. After the second sleepless night we again complained and they said that a new mattress was coming the next day. It didn’t and we left without staying the 4th night and found somewhere else to stay.
The broadband was non existent in the bedroom and there was no radiator in the bathroom.

Very very polite staff, easy check in.
I couldn’t get my truck into the car park at the rear - very tight entrance

A very characterful pub located in the centre of Attleboro with oak beams and creaky floorboards.
Very clean en-suite room with shower, TV and tea and coffee facilities.
Very quiet for a pub environment as the room we were in , number 6, was located away from the main pub area.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the price of the room an absolute bargain, which included a full English breakfast too.
Overall, far better than the usual Travelodge we would have used previously and highly recommended if visiting the local area.
The rooms are located above the main pub and although our room was very peaceful, I could imagine that noise may be an issue for some.

The staff and hotel are lovely. An old building that they do the best that they can do and adds a charm to what could easily be just another shoebox.
Breakfast was superb, friendly service, and cooked just right.
Check-in and out were so simple and very relaxed.
There have been new owners since I last stayed here, and there was certainly a busier feel to nightime in the bar. It appears to be the hotspot now in Attleborough. There was a Jamaican night the night I arrived with very enthusiastic performers and the audience enjoying themselves.
There was an issue with hot water being a little intermittent. However, it was sorted, and I actually counted this as a positive as it was acted on very quickly.
Parking was in the street in front, but again, no real hardship, just something to be aware of.

The staff were very welcoming, both of me and my dog, as were the other patrons. Despite arriving late when the kitchens were about to close, they prepared an excellent evening meal. The included breakfast was very generous and meant that I could skip lunch! The room looked out over the churchyard (which provided plenty of space for dog exercise in the morning). Despite the room being close to the bar it was peaceful and I was not disturbed by the noise.

Beautiful 15th century inn, that has some lovely features. It is recently under new management who are aiming to bring it up to a higher standard.
Booking in procedure - some info left for others to see.
Advertised as on site parking but this is not always the case. It is blocked off and unavailable when doing entertainment etc outside. Street parking hit and miss.

The staff were brilliant. I'm gluten and dairy intolerant & they made the best breakfast for me & was always aware of any cross contamination. The bed was perfect . Soft like a cloud, just how I like it, the building is beautiful and perfect location to the town , transport & looking out onto the church grounds. I would highly recommend this place.
I don't want to say anything negative because of how accommodating the staff were & the hotel being such a gem...but if I had to say something, a hair dryer wasn't in the room which is fine in the summer but in the winter with my long hair, that may have been a problem with the cold, & visitors will need to bring their own water as I was advised not to drink from the bathroom & I needed more then what was left in the room, even though the staff was happy to give more bottles when required. The walls to the other rooms are paper thin ..the Friday it was peaceful & i was able to enjoy the ambiance & views, the Saturday, I had a noisy guest next to me , I could even hear them walking which isn't the hotels fault , and they left the fire door open letting all the noise from the bar below disturb the peace of guests relaxing, again not the hotels fault. Its luck of the draw which guests we end up sharing the space with.

Amazing breakfasts. Good choice, very generous portions and very tasty. Gluten free options were available and the hotel were flexible in other food preferences too.
Carvery was good too.
Very dog friendly place. Our dog was very welcome and we felt very comfortable with bringing her down to bar area. Treats were available too. Electric charging points in car park opposite, and 5 mins drive away on A11 at the Shell petrol station.
I would have liked more vegetarian options instead of the carvery. Also, for some non carvery options to be available from the main menu on Sunday. Car parking was limited at the back of the hotel -entrance very narrow for a large vehicle, but that was because it had been an old coaching inn, so not really a negative as such. Best to park in the car park opposite which was free on Sundays, and overnights.

Breakfast was nice and the pub element has character. The bed was also very comfy.
The facilities are outdated, the shower was as weak as they come, no more then a dribble, the shower doors were hanging off and the room smelled of cigarettes.

Friendly staff
Problem with shower, it did work but not well and controls appeared partially broken.
No instructions for use ( or for anything else).
Kettle located under television,, restricted by length of cable - could be potentially dangerous?
Lock to room door awkward/ rickety!
Unfortunately I failed to report this as time constraints on leaving

The landlord was very helpful, welcoming and friendly.
The room was spotless and bed comfortable
The overnight experience is fair value for money
The following are not criticisms: The Griffin is a straightforward no-frills pub
So guests may be accommodated overlooking the main street where early morning traffic will curtail sleep after 6am
Breakfast is simple without a fresh fruit option that would be expected in somewhere more fancy.

Meals were very good. Plenty of choice. Convenient for local buses. Good train service from local station which was a walk away. Shops and other facilities close by.
Service was sometimes slow but staff were helpful.

Liked the old style traditional building.
The cooked part of the breakfast was good.
The room was not the one we had booked. It did not have a garden view and was noisy due to a kitchen extractor near the window. Breakfast was not the usual choice of cereal yoghurt fruit toast marmalade etc just the cooked course. Only offered one small coffee. Carparking on site was very limited. We used a local carpark. They tried to charge us again even though we had paid booking.com online

Clean and comfy bed , clean towels
Plenty of tea coffee and milk supplied
Toiletries supplied
Lovely old building
The description is a bit deceptive, it states " quaint, 15th century coaching inn" also on the website it says "quiet and country retreat" it was a quaint coaching inn but a quiet country retreat it is not, so don't expect either quiet or country. The picture shown is also the side/back of the building, the front is on the main road.
when we arrived at just before 6pm the bar was heaving, people were queuing out the door, we had to fight our way past to find someone, the first person we spoke to said she would get someone and she walked off and didn't come back, then a guy appeared, gave us a key, showed us the room and after that we saw nobody.
We went out for something to eat and had to walk through what was possibly the most crowded and cramped bar and it was incredibly loud, And quaint country retreats don't normally have bouncers?
The room was very dated, and could do with complete overhaul, even very old buildings can be decorated in fresh modern styles. The window was screwed shut so no fresh air, which was probably just as well as the room overlooked the beer garden/patio and it was incredibly loud with the usual drunk shouting and singing that went on until about 1.30am so we didn't sleep very well.
Car parking is a no unless you have a smart car, we parked in the high street
When we left in the morning the curtains were all drawn and no staff in sight so we left the key in the bar and left

It is very near Snetterton Race circuit
A very strong smell emanating from the toilet every time it was flushed….nauseous.
No parking, except on the street …we had to drive around and around a one way system
It’s been taken over by vibrant new young owners who are taking The Griffin in a new direction. On the Saturday evening there was live music and the bar was open until 1.00am!

Staff very friendly and helpful. I didn't have breakfast but the meal later in the day was varied and well prepared. The room was well maintained during my stay.
This is nothing the hotel could do anything about, but the entrance and exit from the hotel premises was in quite restricted visibility. Still, this would not stop me from staying at the Griffin again!
