There are three things about Eria that made our stay magical: 1) The staff - there wasn't a single person who wasn't incredibly warm and welcoming. They couldn't do enough for us, were very chatty and had great senses of humour. 2) The accessibility - my partner is paralysed from the waist down but we had no issues whatsoever. The hotel picked us up from the airport in an accessible minivan, the pool has a ramp and we got a lift up to our room. We even got to use the accessible jacuzzi (with a lift). The hotel runs excursions most days and it was so relaxing not to have to figure out the logistics and know everything will be accessible. 3) The... intimacy? The hotel is relatively small so you get to know the other guests pretty quickly. You have meals together, go on excursions together etc, we met so many lovely people from all over the world. The food was good and we particularly enjoyed the cocktails and fresh orange juice. They loved telling us how about how the food is either sourced locally or grown fresh themselves. The hotel was also very clean and well-maintained.
There isn't much to do around the hotel but this wasn't an issue as the beautiful city of Chania is a short trip away, either by bus or the hotel can organise accessible transport. The only real negative was that it seemed the pool heater was broken so it was too cold to use during our stay, but that will give me something to look forward to when we come again :)

We liked everything about the property. It felt like my son could finally have a « normal » holiday again, where his disability was no longer an issue ( wheelchair bound). It looks and feels like a hotel, unlike some places that feel like medical facilities. The staff is the spirit of the place, Ms Diamanto is more like a family member you haven’t seen in a while, and the rest of the staff are genuinely lovely and go over and beyond to make your stay perfect. The rooms have electric beds, shower rails, seats etc, as well as the usual mod cons ( coffee, tv etc) and a fridge, and large balconies with beautiful sea or Mountain views. The hotel grounds are beautiful, the tables are set around the pool which has a ramp and wet wheelchairs available, and there is a a pool bar. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, and it feels more intimate as it is a small hotel. Food is real Cretan food, there is plenty of it and more than enough choice. There also was bbq nights, as well as music nights. Big plus too, the hotel has its own specialized transport, and organises day trips. There isn’t anything you can’t do or see ( there are even accessible beaches). The hotel has a spa and you can also have medical treatment/access if needed but we didn’t use any of these. Guests seem to come back often, and that will certainly be our case too.
The prices for the rooms are still quite steep, but the food made it more or less even for us. The price of excursions or taxi services were a mix between fairly reasonable and some quite expensive. I must note that I compared with others, and there wasn’t a huge difference. You do get the service with it too ( the driver is great fun) Prices of the bar menu were standard. Some of the equipment looked like it had seen better days, which it probably had, but did the job. The beds were spot on however. None of this is a deal breaker.
