All the helpfulness and general efficiency of the staff were most impressive.

The only issue we encountered was noise from inconsiderate fellow-guests ignoring the Hotel's excellent rule of night time calm from 10pm to 7am. The hotel was good at taking this up with the guests in question for us and the issue was then resolved. Then we had a noisy boy at breakfast every day, who could so easily have been asked by his parents to keep his voice down, but they did nothing; and one day guests behind us spent time watching a film on a mobile at breakfast, with the sound on, also disrupting the pleasant calm atmosphere created by the hotel in their superb breakfast room. This could not in any way be blamed on the hotel, but they might like to consider gently intervening to prevent guests imposing unduly loud voices and mobile phone noise on others.

We loved Grindelwald, and we loved Hotel Caprice. It's such a wonderful hotel. Super friendly owners and staff. Very comfortable and clean. Great breakfast with great coffee. The location is perfect. Eating breakfast while looking up at the Eiger. What more can you want. Highly recommend Hotel Caprice if you are travelling to Grindelwald. We will be back.

Alexander, his family and the staff were friendly, very knowledgeable and always happy to answer questions or make suggestions. The breakfast was high quality. The location near the train station was fantastic. Overall a great place to stay in Grindelwald.

Very convenient to the train. My room on the top floor was quiet. Comfortable overall.

Cleanliness could have been a bit better (squashed mosquitoes on the ceiling). They don't take card to pay the city taxes.

The rooms are extremely clean and also spacious. The breakfast was great and the hosts are very attentive. The location is excellent with the train station only 3 minutes walking.

Traditional hotel, centrally located, helpful friendly owner

The hotel is centrally located near the railway station. The owner Alexander was very helpful, loaning me walking poles to go hiking. My room was kept very clean. I had a stunning view from my bedroom window. Good breakfast

Perfect stay to explore Grindelwald.

It’s a small, family-run hotel with beautiful views and very friendly service. Besides a lovely breakfast with local breads and cheeses, they also have a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room! My balcony had a view of the mountains and the village dotted up the hill. Only 5 min walking to the train station. Perfect location, quiet, clean, right in the village. Def recommend!!

Perfect stay at Hotel Caprice

10/10 hotel with a stunning view to Eiger. We stayed here for two days, and were so good taken care of by the friendly owners of this beautiful hotel. We got the best hiking tips for mountain parts that are not so crowded, and will forever remember the spectacular nature and views. I can highly recommend a stay at Hotel Caprice.

Great value for a stay in grindelwald.

Beautiful view of the mountains. Breakfast was excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff. They set up a very cute bed with roses for our honeymoon.

There were flies in the room when we first checked in. Water pressure from the sink wasn’t strong. No nets on doors so we couldn’t air out the room without bugs getting in.

I love Everything! I love Hotel Caprice. The location is perfect, near the train station but you won’t feel it too close since it is higher. Lovely views! Very cozy anywhere you go in the property! Regula and Alex (the owners) run the place perfectly and are very accommodating. Alex’s photography is amazing! Wanted to go for a Milky Way photo session but the current conditions didn’t allow us to. Everything is personalized. You know that the owners are very passionate in running the place. Daily newsletters with weather, tips, sightseeing, tours and all, are available in breakfast. Staff are very accommodating and attentive to your needs. We felt the warmth and passion poured into this place. Will definitely book here again.

It’s in the pricey side. Though you’ll get what you pay for. No variance in breakfast, but not a dealbreaker. The fresh breads were amazing.

We loved the place. The room was spacious with an amazing view off of the deck. The owners were kind and the breakfast was delicious. If you are lucky you might get to pet their adorable dog.

Clean, well arranged room, kind staff, wonderful views

Room on the ground floor was very nice and clean, newly refurbished. I booked a small room, but it was nicely arranged, it did not feel as small. Bathroom and the rest of the room are on the same level, no thresholds (nowhere to hit one's toes when sleepy in a new space..). Beautiful views in many directions from the patio outside the room. Kind and helpful staff. Location: very close to the train station, but it is a little up the hill. This could be more challenging in winter, for some, but it provides for unobstructed view to few mountain peaks.

I wish I knew earlier in my stay that breakfast option could include fried or scrambled eggs with bacon. One can request this from the staff. I wish there was more salad/vegetables available for breakfast. Maybe that can be also requested, not sure.

Very comfortable and relaxing stay.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. They advised us on things to do, the weather and even drove our luggage to the hotel. Breakfast was good, amazing bread selection, allergy information given and lactose free milk available on request. The location is excellent, very easy access to the train station.

Superb

The hotel had such an amazing spa area. I didn't realise how many saunas there were until I got there. It was a Saturday night and I had the spa all for myself, enjoyed several saunas as well as jacuzzi. Breakfast was also good, they had so many options to choose from. The staff was helpful and friendly, despite me making a last minute booking only after I got to Grindelwald.

Would have loved to stay in a room with a better view, however I do understand that I made a same day booking. And the spa really made the price of the hotel fair.

Exceptional

All staff, Regula and Alexander are very nice! Breakfast is super good, many different kind of bread! Balcony with nice view, it is my first luxury room. It worths! Spa is perfect after hiking! No water kettle inside the room, but they provides hot water in the evening by the lobby. It is perfectly good idea. Less stuffs in the room. Less is more! Perfect life for minimalist.

A fantastic value with friendly staff in the heart of Grindelwald.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Caprice. Alex, the host, is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. He (and the entire staff) gave us invaluable advice that positively contributed to our vacation (our first to Grindelwald). We liked the spa (agree with the other commenter who said it’s nice for a three-star property) and the location is superb. The breakfast added even more value - the cheeses and breads are delicious, and we loved the oatmeal, too!

The room was a little small, so we definitely recommend taking time to unpack your belongings. Also, the balcony view was just okay - but not the end of the world since the breakfast room view is fantastic and you’re outside all day anyway!
