Won’t be back at any holiday inn after poor experiences

The location. I was visiting for work and was able to get going quickly the following morning.

Limescale all over the sink Limescale all over the shower Limescale on the kettle TV didn’t work (not the first time in a holiday inn) Air conditioning was blowing cold air constantly, had to turn it off and sleep with my clothes on. The radiator in the room was underneath the window, so when the curtains were shut the heat wasn’t coming into the room. Tries to phone for room service multiple times and kept ringing out. Eventually got through to someone who said they’d connect me, and it rang out again. Went to reception, nobody available, had to go to McDonald’s down the road as I didn’t want to sit in a busy bar on a work trip.

Fabulous Valentine Weekend

My husband me and our two dogs arrived on Friday. We were met by a lovely lady called Alex who gave the dogs some treats and a drink of water. We had booked an accessible room which accommodated my husbands mobility scooter. The oxygen he had ordered was already in the room. The bathroom was huge and had a wheelchair accessible sink and a bathseat over the bath and a shower. The staff were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant was bright and beautifully furnished. The menu was varied with something for everyone. The breakfast was self service and there was a special area set aside for gluten free. The dogs were allowed in the bar area. The gym was well equipped and the staff very helpful in helping with the equipment. The swimming pool and changing facilities were clean and there was a jacuzzi and sauna. Towels were available free from the gym reception. Although the weather was cold and wet the management and staff went out of their way to make our Valentine weekend wonderful. Thank you. 💯

Excellent customer service and good value for money

Excellent customer service. Reception staff during checkin (wild guessing her name was Kelly?? - please correct me!!) and also Lupi, Wes and Laura the following day were great. Kitchen and breakfast staff and at the gym, all friendly and professional. Everyone was wonderful and made the stay enjoyable. Cannot fault the service. Facilities were also really good, though might need a little updating. Made use of swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and minty steam room. Breakfast was good. Location is only a few mins drive into town. You will enjoy staying here.

The beds need a bit of investment. Our rooms were switched but the beds were not great.

Great breakfast and lovely staff

Quiet, pool was big enough to do lengths in, sauna was good. Customer service was EXCEPTIONAL! No questions asked with a request due to the sad reason of my visit. I think it was Alex maybe on reception who was lovely. The guy in the gym was so friendly - so accommodating with making it easy for me to use the pool. Breakfast was yummy and had a great level of variety including dietary requirements. Didn’t properly look at the gym due to time constraints but if you gave them a cal I’m sure they’d tell you what was in there.

A bit tired, light on carpark so bright that the birds thought it was daytime at midnight. Timings for the gym and pool were annoying - but also I did arrive later on a Friday evening. I was hoping for a swim and sauna around 2030 but the pool shut then. Mon-Thurs is later closing.

The staff did not recognise my companion for the check in, making her feel very unconfortable. And a week later got a fine for the car park despite having the number plate registered.

The pool facilities were a little run down but the staff were lovely, Hotel room was comfortable but much smaller than I was expecting, definitely a tight squeeze with a toddler too, the bar area was good but lacked staff taking orders Breakfast was nice but few options

The children’s area could do with a few books or working crayons/fresh paper and clean toys, we brought our own toys but the whole area was a bit of a tip and unusable, The steam room stank of mildew but overall we enjoyed the pool, the staff made up for it.

Good location, rude receptionist

Good location

When we booked the room we requested a double bed (a room for 2 people). Upon arrival, we ended up with 2 twin beds. The receptionist said that we were apparently already told that this depends on availability and rudely said “just push the two beds together” with an attitude.

Reluctant to book again

Room was ok, breakfast was lovely and varied choice, staff were friendly, easy to find parking space, given 2 complimentary drinks as it was our mini-moon following our wedding

Room was right next to stairwell so could hear everybody using the stairs, the walls had been badly touched up with paint and looked tired and shabby. We were informed upon arrival that the jacuzzi was not working (this is the second time we have been and it has not been working), and we also could not access the spa area between certain times because they had a party of rugby players in who would be using the facilities. They pointed out that the bar and restaurant would be pretty full too because of them so we may not get a table if we wanted one! As a disabled person with back issues we booked here for the spa facilities as the jets in the jacuzzi help my symptoms, as does gentle swimming, but because of timings we didn't get to use them at all which has left me disappointed.

Adequate for a one night stay.

Friendly staff, hotel was clean, breakfast was good. Ideal location for my needs.

Very old and tired, in dire need of an update. Room was small with a tiny bathroom. Bed was only a small double and the mattress was far too soft. The room's aircon was broken and the hotel had provided a small portable unit. The water reservoir was empty and full of sludge. As a result, the room was far too warm for a comfortable night's sleep - made worse when the heating came on full blast in the middle of the night.

Beds were exceptionally comfy. Swimming pool. Windows could be opened sufficiently to get fresh air instantly, instead of being fastened by a stupid Looking forward chain.
