Villa Guiné

We were welcomed with refreshments and local treats by Odilia who was super friendly. One of the rooms had twin beds which could be separated and the two other rooms had double beds, this was an ideal sleeping arrangement for us. Very specious garden and living room. We especially enjoyed the outdoor grill kitchen with a window connecting to the fully equipped main kitchen. There was heating and air conditioning available in all the rooms of the villa. The rest of the island is very accessible from this location with a car. We went on lots of day trips to Funchal, Porto Moniz, the ancient Fanal Forest, the surfing spot in Paul da Mar, and the contemporary art museum by the Arco de Calheta coast. I would highly recommend this accommodation for families and/or friends.

At the time of our stay there was a building site close by, but that’s nothing to do with Villa Guiné and understandable off-season and fortunately you don’t hear anything once inside the villa.

The villa looks exactly as on the photos and everything was very clean. As we had on some days bad weather, it was a bit cold and moist in the house, but it was possible to heat with the air conditions and one mobile heater, so this was good to have. We were 4 adults and one baby and had enough space and the kitchen was well equipped, so we did also cook for lunch or dinner. One thing to improve could be the amount of dishes and cutlery, as we had 6 of each - so not enough for one day with 4 adults (needed to turn on dishwasher every day and sometimes wash with hands). There is a coffee machine (Dolce Gusto), big freezer and also a washing machine and tumble dryer. We didn't use the pool due to bad weather but it was very nice and clean - so perfect with good weather. One improvement to have a bit more cosy atmosphere could be some indirect lights in the living room, as the spots were very bright and not dimmable. All in all we would definetely recommend this accomodation for a trip to Madeira. Odilia is a very nice host and you can contact her at and time. Very helpful.

Great house with large bedrooms and heated pool. Close to the shop. Odylia is a very nice host.

Beautiful villa, fully equipped including Netflix and parking. Thanks to the heated pool, we were able to swim in December. The Rabacal hiking area can be reached quickly by car. The host is very nice and made everything run smoothly.

Occasionally little noise from nearby school or construction site - but not really annoying.
