Fish factory -The real Lofoten experience

Generally clean, great to have access to a kitchen where you have a shelf in the fridge and cupboard space dedicated to your room, plus use of a free washing machine and dryer. There is a bookshelf of books (mostly not in English) and some board games. The most useful book was the book of hikes for the islands. For the price this was a good place to stay. Check is very easy - sent a list of details of how to self check in.

It’s a genuine old fishing building which means the floors aren’t 100% level, the floor in my room was quite slanted which meant my bed head was lower than the foot of the bed. This could be easily fixed by propping up the bed slightly. Each room is different but some rooms don’t have blackout blinds/curtains. If you’re a light sleeper, be aware there is a noise that is consistently going on and off throughout the day and night which sounds a bit like washing machine/motor noise. I stayed for a week and the area generally quiet except for Friday and Saturday evening when a bar/restaurant nearby had loud music playing. One evening was the match for Norway in the World Cup so was understand there was a bit more noise but was surprising how noisy the place was considering the overall quietness of Ballstad. While the place is generally clean, I did find a stone fruit seed in my room on the floor from a previous guest.

This is a beautiful location, nice property, very clean and great beds…a relaxing getaway!

Would love to have stayed longer

Our stay in Norway was excellent, and the accommodation played a major role in that. We were absolutely satisfied with everything. The property was fully equipped and had everything we needed. The view was beautiful, all areas were spotlessly clean, and the location was very convenient. Despite the cold weather, the accommodation had excellent heating, including the bathroom, which made our stay very comfortable. There was also free parking, which was very practical. The host was extremely kind and helpful, responding immediately to any questions we had. When I was looking for a hairdryer in the bathroom we were using, he bought a second one without hesitation, which really impressed us. We highly recommend this place. We fell in love with Norway, and this accommodation made our stay even more enjoyable. We would definitely choose it again!
