Beautifully updated traditional home in a quiet neighborhood near Nijo Castle. Very close to metro stations so easy to get wherever you'd like to go across the city and easy to get to from Kyoto Station via public transportation.
Great hosts. Very responsive to questions we had before arriving. Happened to get into town a bit before our scheduled check in and they were able to meet us at the house and let us in so we could throw our luggage down and go explore.
Tons of great restaurants in the area and more off the beaten path that felt way less "touristy". Made for a great experience in Kyoto.
Traditional beds that are on the floor. A little more cushioning would have been nice but a quibble in comparison to all the great things the house had to offer.

The place was absolutely beautiful and well-kept. The rooms were clean, all the amenities we needed were prepared for us, and the location was also close to some historical landmarks and buildings such as Nijo Castle and Kyoto Imperial Gardens.
