About this house rental

Our recently renovated property which was the old village school, is completed to a high standard and is wonderfully bright and spacious. With two bedrooms and two bathrooms we are ideally located in a beautiful rural location less than 10 minutes from Inverness City Centre. The best of both worlds! Use us as your base to explore the Highlands. Our situation is perfect for exploring Inverness, The Black Isle, Loch Ness, Culloden, Clava Cairns, as well as further afield. If you are arriving by public transport we can pick you up in Inverness. There is a large private parking area outside the house and it's free of charge.

The house has it's own utility room with a washing machine and an electric clothes drier.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need including a microwave and a dish washer. If you prefer to eat out the near by village of North Kessock boasts a pub and a tea-room, both of whom serve great food. Free wi-fi is provided, although with so much to see and do, we hope you will relax and switch your phone off!

Just minutes from Inverness this property was an excellent location to explore the area and we loved that it was a converted school in quiet setting. We stayed in the two bedroom suite and found it to be spacious, comfortable and the amenities thoughtfully designed. I would highly recommend staying at this property!

This property was conveniently located close to Inverness yet at a distance that offered peace and quiet. The house was immaculately kept with plenty of nice upgrades (e.g., new bathrooms, upgraded kitchen, hot water heater, garden). This was perfect for our family of four! Our hosts, Donnie and Ellie, were great, friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We would definitely come back here again.

This was a welcome sight at the end of each day we journeyed around the countryside. The location is convenient for exploring Inverness as well as a wealth of interesting attractions in the region. Very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The hosts were excellent at communicating with us and responded immediately to quickly fix a minor issue. We would recommend the so location without reservation.

Donnie and Ellie are the most gracious hosts. Their home is a in a beautiful country setting. I had everything needed for a comfotable stay. Conveniently located close to Inverness ( 15 minutes by car - Car necessary to reach the house) but in the countryside. Great view on the fields. No noise : quiet and peaceful nights, we slept like babies. The house is fully equiped. The bedrooms are large. There are 2 bathrooms and plenty of towels. The private parking is just in front of the door.We spent 3 nights there. There are so many things to do and see in the surrondings that we could have stayed longer. Many thanks to our hostess who took good care of us !aandthere us 2 bathroom

This was the most beautiful location in a beautiful country. We had sheep and newborn lambs right outside our windows. It was sparkling clean and even stocked with a few essentials. I just cannot say how lovely it was. Ellie even took us to a local craft fair. Highly recommend this place to stay!!

We love the location of this home, it enabled us to have short trips to enjoy all of Inverness both downtown and some of the outlying areas. North Kessock was absolutely wonderful. We ate dinner there as well as breakfast and highly recommend both.

Hosts were very welcoming and delightful. Accommodations were well appointed. We’ve stayed at many holiday homes and this was by far the best. Hosts greeted us upon arrival and had provided supplies for breakfast to carry us over to the next morning in case we needed it. Would definitely recommend it!

We spent two nights at Drumsmittal School and very literally blown away. The house was very spacious, so there was enough room for 4 people. The two bathrooms were a luxury and the facilities were above average. Ellie and Donnie were wonderful, lovely and humorous hosts. They were very helpful with lots of tips and even stocked the fridge at our arrival with useful food. By far one of the best accommodations we have booked in the past 10 years. If we will ever return to the Highlands within the next few years, we will definitely stay with Ellie and Donnie again! When you made your guests feel like home, you did an outstanding job! Stayed here as our family of three and absolutely loved the property. Donnie and Ellie were available as needed and were very welcoming and open and easy to communicate with. The house made a great place to stay for our trip being convenient to Inverness but also a great base for our day trips out to various parts of the Highlands. It was great to come back to the property at the end of the day and be able to relax eating dinner while watching the sheep graze in the fields around the property, even heard the cows in the field above the sheep! The kitchen had everything we could need and the interior is updated and clean. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Inverness area!

We had a lovely stay at Drumsmittal School. Donnie was a great host. Greeted us and showed us around. He gave us dinner recommendations and even made our reservations. We loved how spacious the apartment was. It gave us room to spread out and just relax when we returned at night. Our hosts went over the top to make sure we had everything we needed. This place in Inverness was so wonderful, large and spacious fully stocked with food for our breakfast and snacks and it was immaculate. Not only were the hosts, Donnie and Ellie wonderful people !! they went above and beyond for us when we got a flat tire - long story !!! they were there for us and didn’t let us go until things were sorted. Donnie and Ellie have transformed the old Drumsmittal School house into clean and modern haven for travelers to Inverness. Spacious and comfortable, a better alternative the the cramped accomodations in town, with pasture views and easy driving access with parking. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting our hosts and would certainly visit again.

Our party of 4 had a wonderful time at Drumsmittal School. It is close to The city center and Culloden. But it is in a lovely pastoral setting with sweet discoveries around every corner. Donnie and Ellie could not have been more gracious and welcoming, and we would look forward to visiting this place again.

Absolutely love this property!! So close to Inverness (just a quick drive across the bridge), but in the beautiful countryside. We loved to sit in the living room and watch the sheep in the field behind the property and the birds. The property is clean, large, beautifully decorated. The breakfast and other goodies provided by Ellie and Donnie were perfect and a wonderful surprise!! Donnie and Ellie are so friendly and helpful! Wish we could have stayed longer!! If you get a chance to turn left out of the property (instead of right to go back towards Inverness), you will find the most beautiful rural landscape! We drove to Chanonry Point to see the dolphins and would have loved to spend more time driving the countryside. Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a central location for day trips (Culloden Battlefield/museum was just 15 minutes away, Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle were 25 minutes away), but a quiet retreat to return to for the evenings!

Ellie & Donnie were great hosts & nothing was too much trouble for them. Its a beautiful house fully equipped, clean & has been beautifully done up. The location is stunning with lovely countryside views. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a highland getaway, yet still close to Inverness.

We were pleasantly greeted and shown around the apartment. Such a cool place to stay with everything we needed, including food/drink. Hosts were very helpful with suggestions for food and other info. (N Kessock hotel dinner was 5 star!) We loved the view of grazing sheep from the bedroom / living area windows. Wish we could have stayed here longer.

We loved staying @ School of Drums! Ellie & Donnie were so kind and considerate. The place is huge, with plenty of room for relaxing. It's not everyday one can look out the window and watch the sheep grazing in the field. Lovely lovely place.
