Juno Beach Stay

We had an amazing stay La Cantellerie, the room was fantastic, everything was taken care of and the breakfast was exceptional. It was truly unique and the two cats were also lovely. It is the perfect place to stay near Juno Beach.

Ok but too expensive for the level of accommodation

Clean. Comfortable bed. Parking Breakfast was excellent although we were only offered a plastic wrapped shop bought madeleine on the day of leaving at 6.30. Something pre prepared and just a bit more substantial would have been ok

No fine touches. Everything was ok but nothing was exceptional. The price was more typical of a higher end property. If the price had been a third less it would have deserved a higher rating

Beautiful accommodation perfect for exploring the Normandy coast.

Laurence and Rodolphe are wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. We stayed in Le Nid, their small and beautifully converted cottage. Facilities all of a high standard and thoughtfully furnished and equipped. Very comfy bed , great shower and a smart little kitchen with everything we needed. We took advantage of the secure parking for our car and bikes. La Cantelleirie is on a quiet street with shops and restaurants just around the corner. Location perfect in it's proximity to the local beaches, and cycle paths.

Juno beach objective

Very easy to walk in the community. We were there for the juno beach center experience. Loved the farmers market and quick access to a grocery store. Breakfasts were superb. Comfy bed and great linens.

Fortunately the heaters worked to take the chill from the air.

Beautiful home, great hosts.

Rodolphe and Laurence were wonderful hosts; delicious local baking and jellies. They woke quite early our last day to accommodate our travel schedule. we are grateful. The house is gorgeous, great location. Hosts very helpful with recommendation for tours and restaurants. They hosted our evening meal with local foods.... delicious and great to promote local.

The seagulls were loud around 4 am each morning....a little confusion with our booking but it worked out well.

Wonderful

Absolutely beautiful hosts . They were always pleasant , interested , helpful and very easy to communicate with . They had an inate sense of what people needed / wanted . We were very late ( which I was so so embarrassed about but it was our fault not checking our messages ) and they were amazingly pleasant about it ! The property itself was in a great location , beautifully maintained and inviting and relaxing . I must add that the dinner Loris cooked ( and Rudolf I think !) was exceptional . One of the best we’ve had in France. I would highly recommend La Cantellerie .

Very friendly and thoughtful hosts, helped us with dinner reservations. Tasty breakfast - especially granola is 10/10. Great location - very convenient to get to Honfleur or Etretat by car, and Courseulles-s/Mer itself super cosy, seaside is in 5 min walk from La Cantellerie.

3 days visiting the D Day beaches

From the moment we arrived we had exceptional service. We were given a coffee then our bags were taken to our room (up 2 flights!). Breakfast was delicious - fresh croissants and breads with a variety of home made jams, home made yoghurt and granola, juice and coffee. We were able to walk to the Juno Beach museum and to the beach, port and restaurants. We were given good advice on places to visit - especially the local Friday market. We would love to stay again!

Nothing to dislike - maybe the stairs would be difficult for some, but it does say that in the booking description.

Exceptional

“La Cantellerie” is ideally located at 10 minutes walk from the beach, in the nice village of Courselles s/m. It is an ancient single villa with garden, renovated to offer guests large and comfortable rooms with private bathroom, a large breakfast room, a quiet and comfortable reading room, and of course the back garden, where it is wonderful to relax after a beautiful though often tiring day. WiFi is great. The silence at night is absolute. Breakfast is rich with any salt or sweet fresh food. Parking is inside the property, on the front of the villa. But beyond these beautiful features, La Cantellerie confirms that the most important aspect is the extreme availability and friendship shown by the owners, who did everything to make our stay truly enjoyable.

Rodolphe’s historical villa with garden is wonderful, decorated with attention to details. There’s a beautiful garden in the back of the Villa. Rodolphe was an attentive and kind host, and gave us useful advice on local Restaurants and interesting places ti visit nearby.

Beautiful, relaxing house, exceptional host.

La Chantellerie is a really lovely Chambres d'Hotes in a beautiful mid 19th Century grand Norman town house, 5 minutes walk from Juno beach. We stayed for a week as our son had been studying the D-Day landings at school and wanted to visit. The house itself is peaceful and restful. The new owner, Rodolphe, has opened up the downstairs to have a communal sitting room and enlarged dining room, which give a sense of space and welcome, like being really well looked after at home, which is, by his own admission, what he is wanting to do. The bedrooms are simply finished which gives a very "clean" feel and the bathroom and shower are great. Rodolphe is exceedingly attentive as a host - excellent advice for restaurants, markets, etc. They have a beach hut for use during the day on the lovely and uncrowded beach by the lido, which is very convenient. Rodolphe's great passion, however, is food and entertaining. He arranged a wonderful evening meal on the beach at sunset, where he provided cooked and raw oysters, langoustines, exceptional prawns, brown shrimps, perfectly cooked whelks and his homemade mayonnaise, with a delicious home made dessert and lovely bottle of wine (fizzy drinks for the kids). His breakfasts are also very, very good, featuring loads of home made jams and jellies, home made yoghurt and granola (by his daughter, I believe), with fruits, freshly cooked eggs and a wide selection of croissants, breads and brioche. We weren't able to join his "table d'hote", but the terrine he had made we tasted the following day and it was exceptional. Rodolphe speaks French (of course), English and German fluently (maybe other languages too?) and it was obvious that he really wanted us to have a wonderful time.

Honestly, it was perfect for our needs.

É una splendida dimora francese ben curata sia all’esterno che negli arredi. Le camere sono molto spaziose ed il letto comodo. Ci sono cose che fanno la differenza tra un buon servizio di hotellerie e un ottimo servizio ed in questo caso sono l’accoglienza, la simpatia e la discrezione Laurence e Rodolphe che ci hanno aperto la porta della loro casa. Aggiorniamo la nostra lista delle strutture preferite dopo tanti anni di viaggi inserendo con tutti i meriti La Cantellerie.

Fint charmigt hotell med trevligt värdpar

Ett fantastiskt fint, gammalt charmigt franskt hus som gjorts om till ett litet hotell. Värdparet var supertrevliga och hjälpsamma. Frukosten var mycket god och det mesta var hemmalagat, Bra läge nära centrum. Parkering på tomten.

Kanske lite mer att välja på till frukost men jag skulle tro att man kunde få mer, bara man bad om det.

Het was een heel knus, sfeervol ingericht huisje met zeer gastvrije, vriendelijke en dienstverlenende eigenaren. Een goed bed. Eigen terrasje. Voldoende parkeergelegenheid. Vlakbij de zee en het centrum, bakker en supermarkt om de hoek. We hadden een dokter nodig en zijn daar goed mee geholpen. Toen we visite kregen mochten we ook van de achtertuin gebruik maken.

Eigenlijk niets. Zeker een aanrader als je de kust van Normandië wil verkennen.

De lujo!

Un lugar encantador, con una decoración cuidada al detalle. El buen gusto se respira desde que cruzas la puerta. Es un lujo poder estar en un alojamiento así. Laurence y Rodolphe son sin duda, unos anfitriones espectaculares!! Siempre atentos a cualquier problema o duda que pueda surgir. Nos han tratado muy bien, nos hemos sentido como en casa. Han estado pendientes de nuestras necesidades sin resultar invasivos. Recomiendo encarecidamente desayunar en el alojamiento. Mermeladas, yogures, arroz con leche son "home made" y se nota el cariño con el que lo hacen todo. Es un placer visual observar los muebles, los elementos decorativos, las lámparas, el suelo, el jardín y cómo no, los gatos. Todo está perfecto. La ubicación inmejorable.

No hay ningún inconveniente. Ojalá haber pasado más días allí.
