Nothing
Extremly difficult to check in. We were disturbed that after paying our apartment with no possibility for refund, they asked our documents online, and their web site for check in did not work at all. It was totally incorrcet to ask THE MOVIE OF US infront of their building in order to check in. I think Booking coom should be informed about this abusive procedure and to inform customers in advance,I would never pay for such innconvenience. We did not feel welcome .

The room is comfortable and quiet. The bathroom has been renovated. It's located near the train station. Communication via WhatsApp is excellent.
Check-out time is very early (at 10 am).

The property itself is located quite closely to the Trieste central train station, making it very easy to get reached. Although the building, which the hotel is part of, is of old style and could make one a bit uneasy to walk inside, the hotel itself is very nicely decorated and has good and comfortable environment. The room has quite good facilities and furniture, with a very clean upscale bathroom, which is my favorite part of the property. The bed is a big double bed that guarantees good sleep at night, and there is an air conditioner which can provide heat if the radiator is not working. In the bathroom, the hot water is sufficiently supplied, and everything just works so fine! It is genuinely a lovely and comfortable experience for me to live there, and I feel glad and fortunate to have chosen this hotel as the place for my two-week stay in Trieste. It definitely provided a pleasant and cozy base to my trip in the city. Last but not the least, the staff were super friendly and helpful, answering all my questions promptly and giving instructions on check-in and out procedures in time. I have the reception of Trieste City Smart (I remember the name is Maria) acting as correspondent on WhatsApp, and I want to express my sincere gratitude to her for her immense help. Grazie mille!!
There is at most one part that I didn’t like, which is the hallway (together with staircases) in the building, namely the space after entering the front gate and before entering the hotel. The space is a bit hollow and gloomy, and it could make me a little bit concerned in terms of personal safety. It gets completely dark at night. I was using the flashlight on my phone to walk inside before I realized that there are buttons on the wall which can switch on the lights for a while. This is only a very small aspect that I wouldn’t say I like very much, among all the aspects during my stay where most are positive ones.

Staying at La Seline Luxury Guest House felt like stepping into a forgotten era – a time when life was slower, more graceful, and full of charm. The vintage style isn't just for show – it creates a whole atmosphere, almost like being transported to another time, maybe even a room tucked away in the Miramare Castle.
The scent of wood, the solid antique furniture, the intricate wall details… everything felt authentic, not staged for pictures.
It’s the perfect place to escape modern sterility and reconnect with the soul of a space. This isn’t luxury as seen in a catalog – it’s the luxury of peace, stillness, and character. And that’s worth even more.
If you know how to appreciate this kind of ambiance, you’ll experience something truly special. I’d gladly return.

The location
When we got to the room, it was cold. No contact to talk to and not extra blanket. Spent the night in the cold. The next day we were told that a switch in a corridor outside the room was off and that a separate air conditioning/heating system was available. Ah! If simply we could have talked to somebody! Next morning we talked to to office and canceled the second night. We asked for a partial refund and it was declined.

The room was nice, it was really clean, which was really important for us because we traveled with a child. Internet was great quality and the room was quite - we didn’t hear anything from other rooms or from the outside. They were super responsive and friendly.
It would be nice if we had extra sheets in the room just in case. More electrical sockets would be nice. Also, option for additional things for kids - potty or an addition to the toilet, a small step for a child to easily access and wash hands.

Lovely stay at the Le Saline guest house. Large beautiful room in an elegant building with views onto the square facing the train station -- great glazed windows, so no problem at all with traffic noise! Lovely bathroom and shower. Coffee machine and kettle in the room. Tasteful old furniture. Walking distance (5-10mn) to downtown Trieste. Very kind and responsive staff. Lovely common areas.
Nothing not to like! Only one small suggestion: A small desk would be great, either in the room (which was very large) or at least in the tasteful common areas, for travelers with afterhours work to do on a laptop! Just a detail. Wonderful stay,

Clean room and with the old ceilings and the vintage furniture it felt like we we‘re in our Altbau here in Vienna.
Air Conditioning regulations in Italy 25-27°C in the summertime although we support to help stop climate change

the mattress is good, despite the bed frame being very bad.
close to the train station and the center.
the room it was badly cleaned. there was layer of dust under the bed.
the bed makes a lot of noise, as well as the floor. you can hear the other guests walking around in the corridors. The room faces a street with a lot of traffic and noisy.
it's a shame what they did to the room in terms of interior architecture. The bathroom inside the room is very poorly planned, completely destroying the architecture of the space.
in addition, it is impossible to take a shower without wetting the entire bathroom floor.

Honestly, everything was excellent and fullfiled every expectation.

We had paid parking around the corner for our car and apartment was close enough to walk to the main centre of town. The apartment is a nice old building and retains its heritage. A beautiful beach was about a 10 min drive.
For some reason the air conditioning didn’t work the best, but we were out exploring for most of the day when it was hot.

The shower was a little bit too small.
The wardrobe door was difficult to open so I didn't use it because I was worried I might damage it.

The room, bed, bathroom and towels were lovely. Location is great, opposite the train and bus station but walkable to centre of town. Big windows that appear to be double insulated so it is very quiet.
To call this a guest house is misleading. It is a majestic old apartment where rooms are rented out but it offers none of the services you might expect in a guest house. I booked this the night before, then spent the next day travelling. There is nothing on the booking website to warn you, so I was was not expecting the place to be unstaffed 24/7 and I that I would have to complete an on line check-in that included sending photos of our passports, me holding my passport and then filling in forms regarding the information on our passports. We spent 2 hours sitting outside the appartment and several very angry texts and phone calls to the 'management company' trying to contact someone and trying to jump through these hoops to gain entry. The building does have a small lift but you will need to heft your luggage up 6-8 steps to access it. We discovered by chance that holding your finger on the appartment's call button would eventually result in the building's external door unlocking, allowing entry to anyone.
While the room (Prague) was plenty big enough for 2 adults, it is advertised as a triple. It would be very cramped for 3 adult sized people and their luggage. It did have a kettle and 2 cups but the selection of tea/coffee offered was 1 black tea bag and 3 'herbal' teabags for a 3 day stay. For a similar price, we could have stayed in 3 stars hotels in the next street and would have chosen that option had I known the situation here.

A small but cosy room with a rustic feel next to the centre of Trieste and close to the train station. Clean and well-connected.
Would have liked to have a small fridge in the room but otherwise it was great.

Good location, next to main train station.
Thorough check in.
Noisy location, next to main station. There are noisy people sleeping in the park just across the street. They were noisy deep into the night.
Someone was rushing cleaning & left cleaning staff in the room.

Charming atmosphere. Comfortable bed. Spacious bathroom. Good TV. Decent soundproofing from exterior noises.
Some maintenance is needed on doorknobs and perhaps electrical outlets, as well.

Fabulous location and classy building with original features - loved the ceiling. We stayed in ‘Vienna’ with double aspect and lots of room. Fabulous bathroom. The communication regarding access was friendly and efficient - we didn’t really miss not having onsite reception. Trieste was a surprising gem on our travels around Europe.

Clean, lovely building, close to station,
helpful staff messages,
There is no early check or luggage drop off, so you need to leave luggage in a storage locker nearby

The location is an asset. However, our recommendation for those arriving by car with lots of luggage, park your car immediately and directly at the Saba Silos (at the Railway Station) and from there cross the Piazza to go to the apartments. Unfortunately, there is no place to stop with the car and download your luggage. The reception staff was extremely helpful and although not on site, they were very reactive/fast and efficient to answer all our requests.
When entering the building there is a strong smell. We realised, this is due to the city's sewage system. Unfortunately, the smell was also felt in the toilets. Advice to future guests: keep the toilets door closed at all times. We suggest management to add a small shelf in the bathroom to place cosmetics and other.
