The apartment we stayed was in a residential part of Venice about 5 minutes of walk from the vaporetto stop Giardini-Biennale (and a children's park), 5 minutes of walk from supermarkets and cafes/restaurants, and 20 minutes from the San Marco Square. We were three people: two parents and a 5 year-old boy. We upgraded from our original room to this apartment from miniscule fee. The apartment had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a kitchen/living room. We had been on the way for 5 days when we arrived in Venice. It was a welcome change to stay in this apartment after the trip. We stayed for three days. This apartment was a welcome change. We had received two sets of keys, which allowed us to move independently when needed. We would easily recommend this aparment to a family of four, or five.

There was nothing negative.

The location is excellent, especially if you’re visiting Venice for the Biennale, as it’s within easy walking distance of the main venues while still being in a quieter area. The room was clean, check-in was straightforward.

The room was much smaller than expected, with barely enough space around the bed. The advertised kitchenette consisted only of a microwave, kettle and utensils. There was no sink, no coffee machine, no stove and not even complimentary instant coffee. Nowadays, even when breakfast isn’t included, having at least coffee-making facilities is something many travellers expect. The room also had no TV, which is increasingly unusual. The bathroom only provided a generic body wash with no shampoo. Unfortunately, the room was located next to the staircase, so we could hear people walking up and down throughout the night. The curtains were also very thin, allowing street lights to shine into the room and waking us several times. Finally, the reception is actually a nearby office that is only open from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Outside those hours it was not possible to get assistance, which could be inconvenient if any issues arise. Considering the price, I think a few basic amenities that have become standard in most accommodations are missing.
