Big disappointment

I don't know if I could name one thing that I really like about this hotel.

We arrived at a time when the reception staff were still present. We were greeted by a young man in perfect English, who just recited a pre-learned text, quickly took money for parking and tourist tax and gave us a room code (yes, the rooms don't have a key but a code; that's not encouraging at all in hotels that don't have a 24/7 reception, i.e. none of the staff around). Although I see no reason for anyone to stay in this hotel (or in this city) for more than one night, the room we were given was below the bare minimum even for that. We got a room in the attic, with a huge pillar in the middle, without enough natural light, and with roof slopes that interfered with the normal use of the room and bathroom. The bathtub is completely unusable because it is below the slope. It was terribly cold in the room because the radiators work at 10% capacity (they need to be washed and cleaned of mud, so that they can heat the entire surface). The bathroom was freezing, with no way to heat it. We turned on the air conditioner in the room, and it was only after an hour that we were able to sleep. Towels and bed linen are of satisfactory quality. There is no kettle in the room, nor any offer of coffee or tea. The restaurant staff is really friendly and helpful, the coffee is excellent, and the range of breakfast options is quite varied. Parking is available for a fee.

A nice small hotel near the centre of town met our expectations.

A renovated building in the old centre of Palmanova. Quiet place in this season (autumn). Private parking available (at a fee) at the garden-side of the hotel. WiFi worked fine. No complaints, our expectations were met.

Pre-booking message from the hotel claims that is it *essential* to provide personal information and copies of personal documents in advance via a web form. We intentionally ignored this request (inappropriate, in our view) - fortunately it was still possible to register on-site with no problem, thanks to the kind attendand at the reception desk.

It was a good hotel to go to for what we needed in terms of location and somewhere to sleep.

It was ok. I liked the omelette pie.

No cooked breakfast. Too many cakes and desserts for breakfast. Not enough savoury choice.

Good value for money

Delicious breakfast, friendly staff. The hotel is easily accessible from the highway. Palmanova is a quiet, cozy little town, but there are pizzerias, restaurants, shops.

The bed in one room was uncomfortable, the mattress needs to be replaced

Nice stay in a nice village

Very nice staff, especially the ladies and young guy at the breakfast. Could also talk directly tot he owner about a regulation for a broken lamp. We could agree on it.

Whenever I'm passing by Palmanova, this hotel is my vacation destination.

This is the third time I come to the same hotel, which means that the hotel meets my expectations. Parking provided, location very good. Staff very friendly every time. Everything is very clean.

Since I am coming for the third time, I always have the same complaint. None of the staff seem to read the reviews. The mattresses on the bed are very bad. I always say the same thing at the reception and I just get a smile and an apology. There's nothing to apologize for if you wake up with a big backache and a bad night's sleep. That's my only complaint.

Although we asked them to wait for us, because the red alarm was on due to the storm in Slovenia, they did not want to come out to meet us. We were 15 minutes late. Really unprofessional, even though it is a hotel and not a private accommodation. We asked them twice over the phone and they refused. We had to book another accommodation and lost both time and money.

Unpleasant experience

The hotel is in a central location which make it easy to see the place. Having a private parking is great and helpful. The room was small, but quiet and clean. Most of the stuff was kind.

Really unpleasant experience. We were traveling via Serbia with our car, where we faced major delays on the boarders. We informed the hotel about it, and later called again to tell them that according to GPS, we would arrive at 22:10. The response was that if we are not there by 22:00, they wouldn't accept us. I asked if someone could wait for us for 10 minutes and they said no, and if we didn't like it, we should cancel our reservation. Our second option was to sleep in the car, so we run like crazy on the high way and got there at 21:57, where we "got accepted"... The funny thing is that hotel employees stayed at the reception talking and laughing until 22:45, while later in the evening, I saw room keys on the reception desk with names on them, for other quests who would arrive late, to check in on their own... Something that was out of the question in our case.. The manager should consider that he doesn't run a high school that punishes teenagers when arriving late, but a touristic unit that deals with travelers. People who travel may face delays, or several unpredicted difficulties and the last thing they need, is the stress of not being sure if they will find the room they booked available at the end of a long day. The strict 6-hour schedule "16:00 - 22:00" suits a bank, not a hotel destined to offer its guests relaxation and comfort. Flexibility is the magic -unknown- word for this business. Unless this place becomes a bank, I will never be coming back.

Great place to visit

Location is very good and also the parking facility. Staff was friendly. They sent me a WhatsApp message asking about my arrival time as the front desk normally closes at 10 PM.

Unfortunately the check out time is early ie 10 AM.

Nothing at all. A property misrepresented and far below the standard expected at Booking.com

Disgraceful that the hotel wanted to charge €20 extra for air conditioning. Small rooms, cheaply furnished with very small bathroom. Very average fare for breakfast. A terrible experience measured against the same/similar priced hotels in other parts of Europe. Avoid at all cost!
