Great sized room and balcony, nice staff that let us extend the stay. A choice of 2 nice swimming pools that were never too busy (we went in November)

No major complaints, staff dropped laundry in our room when we were gone which was a little uncomfortable for us although we realise they were trying to be kind

Very disappointing, not ready to receive guests

Nothing too much

We stayed at D.R. Lanta Bay Resort and were extremely disappointed with the experience. The resort was completely deserted and quiet. There were no dining options available on site, nor was there any possibility to purchase food or drinks, which made the stay highly inconvenient, especially with children. The grounds were poorly maintained, with rubbish and debris scattered around, giving the whole place an abandoned feel. Although we were given a room upgrade, this did not make up for the fact that the resort clearly should not have been accepting bookings in its current state. The management was fully aware that we had booked for seven nights (where we only stayed 1 night because we didn’t want to ruin our holiday) and that we were traveling with children, yet at no point were we informed that there would be no other guests and no/minimal services available. This lack of transparency was very disappointing and made the stay dull and frustrating especially for the kids Overall, this resort should not be open for business under these conditions. Guests deserve honesty, proper facilities, and a welcoming atmosphere, none of which we experienced here. I strongly recommend avoiding this resort until serious improvements are made.

Disappointing accomodation & location not helped by being low tourist season/bad weather.

Room was comfortable Resort was quiet. I think we were one of only 2 guests!

Resort was advertised as having 1 restaurant. This was actually closed. We could not buy anything from the resort. Reception closed at 6PM Landscaping was basic and unkempt Had to walk past slums with rubbish everywhere, to get from resort to main road Mixer for shower was locked in 1 position. Could not control water flow. Even HWS on high, water was just hot enough. Could not leave door open. Insects everywhere. Insect screens would help.

Great stay and best manager

Mr. Phee was the absolute best hotel manager you can think of. Super friendly and always ready to help us with anything. Because of low season we had the whole resort for our selves

There were a lot of mosquitoes. Really really lot of mosquitoes. Not strange cause we were traveling during rain season. Koh Lanta felt like a deserted island, with lots of shops, restaurants al hotels and hotels closed.

Great resort on a lovely beach with many bars and eateries nearby

Great Villa very close to the beach. The resort restaurant was really good though the service a bit slow. Absolutely stunning beach and sunsets directly in front of the resort. The hotel eating and drinking facilities close early (1700 if I remember correctly) however there are many bars and restaurants a very short walk away. Massage in the hotel was good and right next to the beach.

I think the resort suffered a bit during cover and could do with an upgrade.

All in all it was very pleasent stay. But with some small things, mentioned above, it could be even much better.

Location, spacious bungalow, clean, nice and kind staff.

Missing moskito nets on windows and missing blinds on outer side of windows. It was very hot in the bungalow, despite air condition runinng whole day. Reason was in big glass windows, which were on the sunny side (sea view) of house and therefore very hot all the time. It could be much more comfortable, if there were somekind of blinds on outer side. You can see the window on photo. We had bugalow next to the beach, we could be listening to the waves at the night, but that was not possible, because moskitos (and problably some other bugs) would eat us alive. Same window. 😉

Family friendly place directly on the beach

This is a great place for families with children. Perfectly located directly on the beach with two nice pool areas. My bungalow was very spacious.

The facilities are a bit rundown but renovations have started so I guess this will be addressed soon.

loves DR Lanta Bay! great location, right on the beach with restaurants and massage places on the doorstep, organised all our tours which was great, 2 lovely pools and a cute terrace outside each room, clean, aircon, good wifi, nice breakfast, ideal!

The property is very reasonable price. Have nice pools and specious rooms. The lady from reception was very helpful.

We stayed only 1 night. We realised quite late (at 8pm ) that the shower does not have hot water . There was no one at reception so by booking com we asked for the issue to get sorted. Someone came and said that the shower is broken , but we have not been offered another room . ( the room was booked for 1 adult and 2 children 8 & 12 years old)

A Covid gem

Great resort perfect for me. Big room, two showers one cold, one electric heated. Breakfast was acceptable considering we are in the Covid crises and very few forign tourist. Owner manager very very helpful. I will be returning next month hopefully.

Two pools in different places is good; one for the kids and one for the relaxation. Wifi was good Athmosphere was pleasant.

Les 2 piscines une grande et une autre plus petite mais face a la mer . Femme de l’accueil et de chambres très gentilles

Les chambres sont dans leur jus. Plutôt vétustes . Lits pas terribles . Mobilier anciens. Une rénovation des chambres rendrait l’hôtel vraiment mieux . Nous avons logé dans bungalow double pr 3 personnes. Petit déjeuner plutôt léger .

Toll angelegte Hotelanlage in der Nebebsaison abseits vom Touristenrummel

Tolle, saubete Anlage mit vielen kleinen Bungalows und 2 Hauptgebäuden in einer schön angelegten Grünanlage. Traumhafte Lage direkt am weitläufigen flach abfallenden Strand. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. In der Nebebsaison war es sehr leer im Hotel.. Tolles Restaurant in der nahen Umgebung

Liegt ein bisschen abseits, aber es gibt am Strand -auch in der Nebebsaison (Juli)- eine nette kleine Reggaebar. Ansonsten waren alle Hotelanlagen an diesem Strand recht leer und daher die eigenen Hotelbars geschlossen.
