The hotel has great facilities and is in a lovely location.

A lot of steps but fine for me and there are lifts to accomodate folk who struggle with steps.

Stayed in a nicely decorated large family room with a pull out sofa bed for our granddaughter which was made up and very comfortable. Nice bathroom with lovely ethical toiletries. Great tea/coffee facilities. Excellent choice and quality of breakfast in a beautiful room. All staff were pleasant and attentive.

We didn't use the main restaurant and the food menu in the bar area was small with not much choice. Food was OK but nothing special. The leisure centre (in a separate building) is clean but in need of refurbishment. It looks like they are working their way through modernising the hotel so maybe they will get to that eventually.

Nicely renovated new rooms. Nice pool and sauna. Clean and tidy. Staff were all pleasant. Nice touches with the complimentary bottles of water and sweets.

The newly renovated rooms are very aesthetic, however missing some key things, like a toilet brush and a hanger rail for hand towel. There was also a lack of light switches in the bedroom, so you couldn't control the main light from the bed. Small things, but things we noticed. There was some construction/renovation works going on in the hotel while we were there. Which woke us both mornings we were there. The pub downstairs lacked atmosphere and felt sterile. I suspect this is a make shift bar, while the main one is getting done up. The steam room in the health club didnt work.

great food and room; very dog friendly

Hotel not ready to receive guests: the drive was being relaid, the lifts were not working, the hotel was full of workmen, Bar shut. It was all a bit Soviet. The management needs to think about their hotel from the customer's point of view. This is the second hotel in a week I have stayed at in Scotland which thinks it's OK to renovate in July. Insane.
