Good location, friendly staff, but needs refurbishment

Staff very friendly. The bar and restaurant had a good 'buzzy' atmosphere, even midweek. Plenty towels in the room and of good size and quality.

Although not unexpected as a result of reading prior reviews, the property, and especially the rooms and corridors, need very considerable refurbishment. The carpets are definitely beyond their sell by date. The corridor outside of our room was very heavily scented by means of air freshner devices that were plugged into power sockets - the smell was rather overpowering, however, I suspect these were being used to mask another, perhaps worse smell. One very small niggle was that the barman wanted payment before serving the drinks - in my experience, this is very unusual. No big deal, but it made me feel like he thought customers were going to grab the drinks and run out of the door with them without paying (maybe this has actually happened?)

Located in the centre of the town. Staff were lovely. Comfy bed.

The standard room that we stayed in was in need of some refurbishment. Scuff marks, peeling paint on doors and walls, stains on carpets and other issues.

A lovely hotel in Cirencester

Breakfast and the staff were super. We ate in the restaurant Saturday night and the food was hot, delicious and rather large portions !

Exceptional. Quirky, fantastic!!

We stayed in one of the character rooms, it was exceptional. Wonky floors, old wooden beams, but the fixtures & fittings were top notch. Roll top bath was superb. The breakfast was up there with the best Iv had. Sensational.

A friendly cosy stay on a rainy weekend in February!

Hotel is in a perfect location right in the middle of Cirencester , you park in the car park opposite! It’s free from 6pm to 8am and is the pay to park app or buy a ticket at the machine every 3 hours ! The room was a good size , bed clean and comfortable, there was white company toiletries in the bathroom which is a nice touch ! The bar area is cosy and modern with friendly and knowledgeable bar staff! Breakfast is cooked to order , hot and delicious, morning staff really friendly. Shops, market and church all on the doorstep ! We loved our stay at the Fleece

This is the first time we have stayed at The Fleece and it was amazing. The staff are so friendly and efficient. We had a superb breakfast and the location is perfect. Very dog friendly too.

Very nice layout! We had lots of room to have nice meals and play games with family!

Very minor, parking was tight, but because I had a 7 passenger van! Just more of a note!

Lovely cosy stay with friendly staff available to help at all times.

The location was very central, breakfast was very nice, staff were friendly and the rooms were lovely.

The only complaint we had was that the food we had at dinner was not the best, every meal seemed dry and salty. However the breakfast was really nice so dinner service is what could be improved.

Better than expected 👌

Breakfast was excellent, room was clean and comfortable as was the en suite. Tea and coffee in room with a little box of chocolates. Staff very friendly. Restaurant and bar well decorated. Perfect location. We have already booked to go back.

The room was extremely hot and noisy. We had no sleep at all. Despite turning the radiator off. Windows very difficult to open. Room above us sounded like they were moving furniture around and people running up and down the stairs late into the night/morning. We left feeling utterly exhausted

Would defiantly stay again, especially at Christmas time

Where it was situated in Cirencester, modern fresh look, great food. Loads of hot water for bathroom use, towels fresh daily. Breakfast was ace! Cotswold gin was recommended and it was fab.

Not a great deal, the carpet on the hallways to the rooms were old but clean, the bedroom we had was great how ever we could hear external noises such as fans and people walking by or coming to work in the morning but nothing to complain about we only noticed as we’re wake early.

This is never a five star hotel as stated. Quite disappointed. More like a 3 star. I had wanted to stay here for years form recommendation. I know I booked a standard room but it was tiny! All looked as if it needed a facelift. Not sure if it was meant to be "shabby chic" but it was more shabby than chic! Restaurant menu very ordinary. I had expected so much more!

The poor nights sleep because of a loud AC unit ruined our experience of the hotel.

We paid a lot of money for a small room, that was a bit tatty (room 7) and that had an air conditioning unit outside the window which started up at 3am until 6am and then again at 7am. It ruined our night. We complained the next morning and it sounded like a known issue! We were moved to a new room but only because a room had vacated that morning as the hotel was full up. On a positive point - the food was very good when we ate in the restaurant.
