Christmas Markets Trip

Location, very near the train station 6 mins walk and 2 mins walk to old town. Reception are is very nice and breakfast area; my room has very good size bedroom area and decent size bathroom.

Room categories don’t come with breakfast so I booked breakfast separately. But breakfast offerings were meager for 25 euros. I wish I checked the display first before sitting down. I could have spent that amount near the old town’s nice little cafes/taverna/restaurant and would have had a satisfying breakfast.

There must be a better place to stay…

Central location in town. Comfortable bed.

Faded grandeur. Expensive and dated. Smell of damp. €10 extra to park in a dark empty sub basement car park round the block. Didn’t bother with breakfast as not included.

Beautiful old hotel, with an impressive lobby and spacious comfortable rooms

This is a beautiful old hotel, with an impressive lobby and spacious comfortable rooms. We stayed in a twin room which was a great size for two adults traveling with a small child. The bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom was not extremely clean, which may be partially because it's an old hotel which hasn't been renovated in a while. But it's charming and has a lot of elegant character.

The bathroom could have been cleaner. The hotel and its restaurant were also quite empty while we were there, so it had quite a lonely vibe. But for one night while we were passing through France it was fine. Maybe during other times of year it is more lively.

Unsatisfactory

Our toilet was disgusting on arrival had not been cleaned at all. The room was small with bed pushed against a wall making it difficult for us to get in and out - we aren’t young any more! Should have been classified as single occupancy.

Exceptional

This is an elegant hotel in a beautiful older building. The room was well appointed and comfortable with a beautiful marble bathroom. It is close to the old downtown and near a tram for visiting the automobile museum.

The parking is nearby but you do need to walk up the car ramp to exit the garage.

Friendly staff, the breakfast was good, they had wash cloth which is unusual for most hotels in Europe. Parking was only 10 euro.
