This is a work-in-progress so you'll see signs of it but all work is done out of guests time. Breakfast is really nice, which is how it's supposed to be, the staff are very helpful, if you're on foot the last walk through the village can be a bit of a drag but, strangely, the walk back next day is beautiful, you'll probably want to wander... Oh yes, that niggle I mentioned. Someone had rearranged the channels on my room's TV. Nothing was where it was supposed to be!

The rooms are all slightly different, if you want a particular feature make sure your room has it! The staff are exceedingly helpful and efficient. The rooms are comfortable and noise from the bar downstairs is not intrusive (if, and when you can hear it) and the bar itself is Olde English if you wish to participate.
One thing... if the weather's inclement and you're on foot, that last 10 minutes through the village can be a bit of a trudge!

My room, room 3, was small but reasonably well fitted out. The bathroom was fairly good and the bed adequately comfortable. It was good to have a wardrobe in which to put things as I was staying a week.
But housekeeping was lacking. Despite leaving the please make up the room notice hanging on the door every day the bins were emptied only once and the sink not cleaned at all.
It's a promising place let down by poor routines and lack of attention to detail. Also the workmanship of the renovation that is underway is of questionable quality.
The scrambled egg and salmon I had for breakfast was good.
