Dirty room 262 it was nasty

The fact it wasn't near home

The condition of the room was absolutely disgusting. My partner had to keep cleaning her feet due to long black hairs her feet were black from the carpet the bedside tables had coffee stains allover them. Basically the room felt like it hadn't been cleaned and to be honest I reckon the hoovering hadn't been done for a while... the state of that room caused a row with me and the Mrs and infact we ended leaving a day early because we couldn't cope with bits and hair getting stuck to her and in the end me. It was disgusting

Brilliant stay

Another great stay, upgraded to a Executive room. Value for money, friendly staff, I think the receptionist name was Adam.

The hotel felt like a halfway house, lack of staff who always looked defeated. Not recommended for .

Location good

No cleaners in room for 6 days had to leave bin bags in hall to be taken away. Had to ask at reception for toilet paper and bin bags. Man in the room next door could be heard through the paper thin wall every night, swearing and shouting. Security was called on the 3rd night. Not great when you are travelling alone.Bed was uncomfortable. Windows barely could see through. Took my own bleach and cleaning supplies in after 2 days. Kettle didn’t work. Cups dirty. Couch completely stained and unusable. Left 2 days early, nobody noticed.

The stay was ok

I loved the king room on the 7th floor , we had a brilliant sea view.

The lifts were not that great , they were either full or you were waiting ages for one to arrive. The breakfast was on until 12 o’clock that was very good as we had to check out at 10am but we was still allowed to grab breakfast. The glasses were dirty when I was getting juice , it took me ages to find a clean one. The coffee wasn’t great when we were grabbing breakfast , I left mine. The breakfast was ok , there was a lot to choose from. The room was a bit cold , there was a hole under the sink and the bedside tables had marks on them.

On the whole very enjoyable in a superb Suite, with one staff failing for one breakfast

The Derwent Suite was very spacious for us , a couple. Everything within was very good, only issue was that 2 radiators were non operational. Public areas well presented.

On Saturday there was a complete depletion of staff at breakfast. One poor senior member of staff trying to cope on his own. Used crockery piled up, public disinfecting own tables, very poor indeed.

No servicing of room. Had to replenish towels, toilet roll, and toiletries myself from reception. Breakfast was carnage. No staff, no food restocked. No clearing of tables. Heating wasn’t working in room. Radiator needed bled.

The room was good but shame only serviced after 4 days of stay - we were there for 3 nights. Would be good to have milk and tea topped up each day Car parking great

The food was quite poor. Breakfast was acceptable but as always spoils under the heat lamps. Plus on Thursday the milk for tea and coffee was OFF. Thursday dinner was OK but Fridays, a buffet, was awful. The soup was brown so I guess mushroom but tasted like the brocolli soup from previous night. I think I had a fishcake but it was more of a potato cake - no flavour at all and I could not find any fish!! No green or coloured vegetables - cauliflowers was overcooked, no flavour and the cabbage was flabby and again no flavour. I appreciate the costs was only £15 but it was not worth event that. So the for Saturday we ate out - cost more but at least edible. Sorry chef!!

The hotel was nice and big and a great price the room.

The room was a little tired and dated and I wish there was more coffee available, two sachets and two milk sachets just wasn't enough.

Disappointing! Glad we were only staying one night.

Stayed here many years ago when it was the Hilton Hotel and it was great. Today the room was tired in the extreme. Bed “creaky “ and bathroom tired and scruffy. The image of roo on Booking . Com in no way matched the reality. Public areas were acceptable but I doubt windows have been cleaned in years. Disappointing.

Lovely couple of days despite the weather. Wouldn’t stay there again.

Breakfast was ok. Location of hotel on beachfront. Short walk into main attractions.

Hotel very tired looking. Rooms need an update. Bathroom very old. Features need replacing. Windows filthy. Curtains didn’t fit the windows properly. Spa area (changing facilities)very run down, limited space. Showers dirty. Carpark area covered in litter.

Good location

Hotel was in poor condition and desperately needed to be refurbished. There weren’t enough staff on duty; we had to wait to check in and at breakfast there weren’t enough waiting staff. All the tables were covered with dirty plates etc which hadn’t been cleared away.

Dated, unclean, understaffed - Faulty Towers!

Large sea front hotel with large bedrooms and pool

Took nearly 2 hours just to queue to check in. Short staffed. Unhelpful staff. (Apart from the one chap on reception who checked everyone in, taking all the grief - while the other lady stood there and ignored everyone.) Very unclean. Major issues with rooms. Windows very draughty. Bathroom really dirty. It was honestly like Faulty Towers!! Would never return. Oh and the main reason we booked - the pool - was closed. Compared to other guests issues - we got off lightly!

Our room smelt of damp, radiators didn’t work so heaters provided but then there is not enough plug sockets to charge etc. Dirty shower, grout mouldy and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned. Beds were hard and uncomfortable, awful pillows which felt like rocks. Coffee stains up the walls and stained bedsheets.

I've been here a few times and never had any issues the staff are friendly and the hotel is a bit dated but I like it there only issue is the heating
