About this apartment rental

Beautifully renovated from top to bottom in 2024, this condo is everything you could want with a view to match! Hanalei Colony Resort #G-1 has a semi open floor plan with one bedroom plus an additional sleeping nook. There is sleeping for 4 people and 2 full bathrooms. Bedding consists of 1 King Bed, and 2 Twin Beds. It is situated right on the beach on Kauai's unspoiled north shore. And like the island itself, it is unplugged from the busy pace of the outside world. After crossing seven one-lane bridges you will reach the resort, and immediately become immersed in the surroundings. There is a complete full kitchen and contemporary, island inspired furnishings. The unit has no television or phone, and their sounds are replaced with that of a simpler Hawaii. They are the sounds of birds singing, the surf caressing the sandy shore, and trees swaying with the ocean breeze. Located on the first floor, you are just steps away from the sand off your private lanai. There's a beautiful pool on site - with coin operated laundry facilities, and a delicious restaurant next door with a delightful coffee shop. There is a dedicated high speed Wi-Fi Internet access installed in #G-1. This is the place for the ultimate in relaxation and stunning views.

Place was great, check-in was a little difficult but probably my fault for not making sure I had the correct information (email) upon arrival. The front desk, while not directly responsible, was helpful in my shortfall. Awesome view, comfortable temporary living, and close enough to Hanalei Bay. One-Way bridges were kind of a pain but, I personally, would deal with it again to stay in paradise.

I can’t imagine a more beautiful spot for a condo in all of Hawaii. The view is beyond stupendous. The condo has been updated in the past year with beautiful new bathrooms and updates to the kitchen. Very, very nice. The grounds are lovely. We had hoped to spend our mornings and evenings on the deck/lanai. But on our third day, the trade winds arrived. The way this condo is situated made it impossible to be on the deck because the direct, gale force winds were very uncomfortable. We noticed the owner of the condo next door had a wind screen he used when on his deck. That definitely would help.And, unfortunately, the windows were not in great shape. A new slider has been ordered. But other windows on the front needed cleaning. We wiped down a couple. Because of the wind, rain and nearness to the shore, it’s difficult to keep them dry and clean. I guess that’s the price you pay for the beautiful location.We’ve never stayed anywhere with such an exquisite view, but it had its downside. If the owner gets a windscreen, we will be back.

There are problems with the sliding doors, screens of the main deck area,.... these have been a problem for a long time and the maintenance is not done as you can see alot of debris in the tracks. For the price the place should be immaculate. Even though you are on the ocean, windows that give you the view should have been cleaned for that daily price. Even a few times a week or the tools to do it yourself at least available. Dissapointed, that i s what you are there for the view. The chairs on the deck are the worst in the resort and not comfortable at all. straight back old wood chairs..... really.... for the price?

Spent a week enjoying this spacious, recently updated condo steps from a beautiful, uncrowded beach on the north shore of Kauai. Communication with the rental co. was prompt & helpful, and the condo was clean, comfortable & well-equipped, including beach chairs and a cooler to borrow. Would love to come back again and highly recommend. perfect for a couple or parents w/1-2 children.

We could not swim or go into the water in this area because of the strong currents. Hanalei Bay for swimming and Anini Beach for snorkeling were a short drive away. The condominium was large and sufficient for our needs. It is old and because it is close to the ocean things are rusted and in need of repair. The lanai porch light did not work which was a bummer, but everything else that needed repair was insignificant. There were plenty of supplies (bring your own bath soap) and it was clean enough for us. This condominium is all about the location and the view.

This unit's location was exactly what I was hoping for and would recommend it to anyone wanting views and convenient beach access. The interior was ready for a remodel, but was comfortable, clean, and functional. (Who goes to Kauai to stay inside anyway?) We will definitely try to stay in this particular condo again!

This condo is literally steps from the beach - it’s the best location of a condo I have ever seen in Hawaii! There are views of the emerald green mountains and the ocean all at once from every window and the lanai, that are literally breathtaking. I can’t recommend this condo enough! We hope to come back again asap. The location is remote - which is what we love. It’s a 15 minute drive to Hanalei if you want to shop/get food. Also Hanalei Bay is a great place to watch sunset. Condo faces east so you will have gorgeous sunrises. Tunnels beach is a 3 minute drive. If you’re like me, you search online for that perfect condo for weeks and read tons of reviews. Here are a few things I noticed about this condo. The patio furniture was not the same as the pictures and was hard and uncomfortable. The beach chairs aren’t super comfy. There is a little rust everywhere but I’ve learned that is literally unavoidable in this lush part of the island, and it didn’t bother us at all. The beach towels were very stained. The kitchen is small but functional and had everything we needed to cook our meals at home. Bed was comfy. No AC but had lots of fans. If you want “posh” this is not for you. Overall, expect it to be a little dated, but the location and view supersedes all of that and make this property a GEM! Highly recommend it!

A Fantastic place to stay we would book again in a heartbeat. Other reviewers complained of it being dated which was true but everything was clean and everything worked. Honestly, if the manufacture date of the kitchen sink is your vacation focus, you need to do some soul searching! And what better place to do that than literally steps from the beach!

If you need a property that is updated, clean, and comes with things you need for the week this is NOT the property for you. We emailed to get a frying pan and garbage bags that were suppose to come with unit and we received an email response but nothing was ever done and we were asked to change garbage each day. Kitchen and items provided were not satisfactory if you plan to cook. Instructions for unit and guest care was different from rental company agreement, guest book by owner, and sign on fridge. We were not sure what they wanted the guest to do, so we did our best to be good guests at departure. Fire Alarm - Broken, Dust on dividers, floor dirty, bathrooms tubs and kitchen appliances rusted, screens did not lock, etc.....furniture is at least 20 years old, looks ok but definitely not comfortable. Outdoor furniture was old and for smaller folks. I expected more for 500.00 a night. The pictures of the unit were misleading as that was not the outdoor furniture at the unit. We stayed 5 days and wish we had only stayed 2-3. If you are only coming for the view and location and do not care about the inside then this is for you.

Our family had a great stay here over the 2022 holiday season. We’ve stayed on the property before but not in this unit. If you’re looking to stay on the beach, I don’t think you can get a better location on the North Shore. The unit & entire property is in a fantastic location. You lanai is feet from the beach. It’s sunrises, sunsets, and sun, sand & water all day. There is also about 2-plus miles of walkable beach right outside the door. Additionally, the property has a very nice pool & hot tub area. The unit itself was in good shape - kitchen worked well for family meals. The overall location is a great one for getting away from the crowds but still being driveable to Hanalei, Princeville & other North Shore locations. I’d caution anyone looking for the big resort experience with lots of luxury amenities and activities (where you never have to leave the property). This is not that same experience. If you’re looking for somewhere to just get away, have unbeatable access to the beach as well as everything the North Shore has to offer, I definitely recommend this property.

If luxury near town is what you are looking for, don’t come here. This place is for those who want to fall asleep listening to the waves and to sink your feet j to the sand ten feet from your door. The beach is right in front of you. The place is a drive out from most things and the place is a little weather worn. But who cares if you just want to grab one of the beach chairs from the closet, walk ten feet to the beach and relax! I’ll be back.

The view is amazing and we love being in this quiet area of the island. We were quite surprised by the condition of the unit. Many of the cabinet doors were locked understandably but those that were available to us, especially the closet in the bedroom was crammed full of items. The condition of the floor, appliances, and plumbing fixtures were rusted and in need of repair. The lining on the lounge chairs was disintegrating and falling off of the chairs. I am happy to send photographs. I would recommend the property but not this unit

Location. Windows open, ocean putting us to sleep, and walking distance (on the beach) to so many great beaches for swimming or snorkeling, including Tunnels. Convenient restaurant on site and excellent coffee shop. Everyone is very friendly. Important to note that this is remote. It suited us perfectly, but if you are looking for more pools, poolside bar, other resort amenities that come with that word, you won't find them here. This particular condo is tired for sure; updates need to happen. Management was very receptive when we gave feedback, noting that updates are in the future plan. Hopefully soon! The kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of towels (including beach) and bedding. There were also excellent guidebooks about Hanalei and Kauai that were super helpful.

The view alone and the adjoining beach are absolutely beautiful. It’s a great location to getaway from the mainstream. A morning coffee with the sunrise, or an evening night cap among the stars is what is in store for you. Travel to near by parks and local restaurants in the near by town are very enjoyable. It was great to unplug and relax at this welcoming property. Definitely a destination we’ll be wanting to return to.

This condo is not the most updated in the bunch, but if you're staying here to sit inside the whole time, you're here for the wrong reasons. This place is LITERALLY 25 feet from the beach. There is endless coral/shell hunting, and the pool is wonderful. You'll fall asleep every night to the sound of the waves and wake up to the sun rising over the palm tree perfectly framed out the front window. Peaceful and secluded away from the hubbub, but still a quick drive into Hanalei for dining. Definitely would stay here again.

Great location. Just need to upgrade the bathrooms, kitchen and closet. Noted moderate rust in the bathrooms, kitchen range hood rusty and the closet and divider hard to maneuver. Other than that, we truly enjoyed our stay. We recommend the place for those looking for serenity, and laid back vacation.

This was our 3rd time to Hanalei area and 2nd time to Hanalei Colony Resort in this unit. Yet, this time we were somewhat disappointed. The slider screen did not lock so that we could fall asleep to the sound of the ocean!!! The bathroom door with bathtub shower didn't close well & the tub and other parts in the condo are rusted. We were not told that the pool & laundry room were out of commission.....that Kee Beach Park required a reservation ahead of time (so we missed one of our favorite places) and that many of the good restaurants in Hanalei required long ahead reservations. We feel the $350 a night in addition to the large cleaning fee may be too much due to the place being a bit run down & the not effective communication by the property management company. We were told rental cars were hard to come by Napali Prop (but fortunately we found a reasonably priced one) and that there may be a long delay getting into Hanalei due to the mudslide, however. The roads getting in were fine.

accommodation interior was basic but everything functioned properly. small kitchen to prepare lighter meals (for 2 people) was adequate. the 3/4 bathroom had a small shower but was sufficient (ref: 5'10" and ~175 lbs). exterior view was second to none. early morning sunrises across the bay were spectacular. enjoy the morning quiet with a cup of coffee on the lanai, seating for 4 with a small center table. great access to the Napali coast!

Clean and well appointed. The complex was very quiet and not crowded. If you are staying here it is for the location and views! Gorgeous area! Cons- the bed rooms did not have walls. Very open to the living and other bedroom. The bathrooms are small and very dated. Needs a remodel. There are no steps at this condo down to the beach. You either have to walk around the building or slide down a few rocks.
