First, the positives. . .well stocked kitchen, clean unit, plenty of beach equipment/ snorkel gear/ chairs/ beach towels.Negatives. . .1. Location , location, location; this house is more “than a short walk” to the beach when you factor in walking to the part of Tunnels Beach with the good snorkeling and shaded beach area. It took well over 20 minutes to get there on a narrow, busy street. So if your idea of going to Kauai is to enjoy the beach, just know that this does not have convenient beach access.2. The house is old and needs a remodel / painting / TLC. For example, the outside deck is worn (looks like Ipe deck—but not well maintained) with rusting table/ chairs. Based on the cost of the unit, I would expected the inside of the house to look less dated. The entire inside needs to be freshened up to 2025.3. The outside shower. I don’t get the previous reviews that glow about this outside shower. Think childhood camp experience. It’s a cheap unit with a PVC pipe at the bottom, a cheap shower bottom and a flimsy curtain separating you from the your neighbors. It’s an overall cheap renovation solution to get a full 2nd bath (toilet is inside and shower/tub are outside on the deck). It could’ve been so much better executed.4. The washer and dryer. The washer and dryer are separate from the main facilities at the ground floor (in a storage closet) with the beach supplies and water heater. Not very convenient.

Awesome property, great management, amazing location! Stayed a week with four adults and three children. Plenty of room with three separate bedrooms and a huge back patio. Internet worked great and our Verizon phones still had a signal. We’ve been to the island before and stayed in a beautiful resort. This was our first time renting a vacation house. It will definitely be the new standard. Don’t miss out on this amazing property. If you’re not familiar with Kauai, this property is the area you want to stay! Secluded, walking distance to the best snorkeling, and surrounded by nature. Solid 5 Stars.

Sublime! We stayed for 3 nights at this wonderful place and miss it already! We were a multigenerational group of 5 and there was something for everyone. We loved the sound of the rain on the roof, 2 outdoor showers and an outdoor jacuzzi bath. The lanai looks out onto a neighbor’s fenced property with horses, donkey and even a baby donkey. They came out to greet us. We saw single and double rainbows daily. If you don’t like the weather, just wait 10 minutes. Tunnels is our favorite beach for sunsets, but if you go the other way, there is a great beach for snorkeling. You can’t miss! Both are walkable or you can walk. The hosts were very generous with early and late checkout. The dvd collection and beach toys, chairs, snorkels, and even a wagon were really nice pluses. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances, utensils, dishes and cooking gear, as well as condiments, and things you only need a bit of and hate to buy. We had such a great time!! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

This is the third time we have stayed here. I love this house. Everything works and there are plenty of things for the beach and all of it is in good working order. It is on the north end and in such a lovely quiet neighborhood. The beach is close by, but there is also a beautiful view of the mountains from the deck. The outside shower is a lovely addition.

This was our 2nd stay at this wonderful property. We love the location - yes if you want to go anywhere it can be a drive but what a beautiful drive it is! We love that it is very spacious, a very short walk to the ocean/beach and only about 1 1/2 mile from the end of the road and the Napali coastline. The back of the property has wonderful views of the magnificient cliffs. The owner is so kind and provides anything a person could want for the beach including a wagon if you have too much to carry! We hope for a third stay here again in a couple years!!

Awesome expereince!! Had 7 people, 3 couples and one 10 year old. The house is perfect, very comfortable with incredible views of the mountains. Also, seeing the chickens, donkeys, horses and cows roam behind the house was special. My family of 8 had a wonderful time in this house! It was in a secluded part of the island, which we loved! We are from the country and this was perfect for us! The outdoor showers and jacuzzi tub were so amazing! The house had air conditioning, which was so nice after a long hot day at the beach! The kitchen had all we needed to prepare meals and the property manager was so helpful in letting us know what the home already had so we didn’t buy items that were not needed. We also appreciated and used all the beach gear including the 8 beach chairs, boogie boards, coolers, snorkeling gear and towels! The washing machine and dryer were so convenient as well! The washing machine had an issue and Beau was very prompt in getting the issue resolved so we could enjoy our stay! The satellite tv was so nice as well as WiFi connection. We enjoyed the back porch and used the barbecue grill during our stay as well! The animals out back were an added bonus! We would definitely stay here again!

We loved everything about this house. It felt like home. This is the best appointed rental we have ever stayed at. Not just beach, equipment and toys, but plenty of towels sown lotion, aloe curling, iron blow dryer…. Now let’s talk about the kitchen, This kitchen was so fully stocked had pretty much everything that we needed, including oil, seasonings water bottles, and so much more too much to list. It was fantastic The air conditioner worked amazing The cows and the donkeys in the backyard were such a joy. Tunnels Beach a truck but well worth it. I would say about a 15 minute walk you have to do exploring to find the beach and the path to get there. There is a closer beach about five minutes away. Absolutely loved this house and would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay at this house, and it was more than we expected in the best way. We loved waking up to the beautiful views and the animals outback. The outdoor shower was amazing every single day walking to the private beaches across the street where our favorite thing. This house had all the amenities we could ask for anymore. It is well loved and anyone who stays here is blessed. The host was awesome and communicated with us anytime we needed. I would highly recommend this house and can’t wait to come back as soon as possible. It was the best way to end our honeymoon.

What a beautiful home in a breathtaking setting! Everything was very clean and the kitchen is well-stocked. We loved sitting on the back porch and enjoying the scenery, birds, and occasional other critters. My kids especially enjoyed the morning chicks and evening frogs. The location is wonderful for several beaches, Ha'ena State Park, and Hanalei. We could have stayed entertained and fed for weeks without traveling more than 15-20 minutes. It was nice to be close to so much but also removed from the touristy hustle of Hanalei. Be sure to check out the farmer's market on Saturday and get passes for Ha'ena in advance!

My family absolutely loved our stay here! Our favorites were the outdoor shower (such an amazing experience) and the close location to Tunnels Beach, but the extra amenities were also very thoughtful. There were beach chairs, snorkel gear, a wagon, coolers, etc in the downstairs laundry room; tons of towels and beach towels, first aid kits and pretty much everything we might have needed. Tunnels Beach is just a short walk to the right from the house (go slightly past mile marker 8 and you’ll see the YMCA Camp Naue sign on the left side of a dirt road, walk down that dirt road a block or less and when the road turns to the right you continue straight along the white fence line directly to the beach). Loved the air conditioning in the afternoons after the heat of the beach and also sitting outside on the deck in the evenings hoping to catch a glimpse of the horses and donkey. If it rains (which it did on us a lot), just enjoy a nice soak in the jacuzzi tub outside. 😊

Third time at the house. It's perfect for us, bc we want to beach all day every day and it's only a short walk. It's always clean, and the house has everything we need so we can pack light. Quiet street, you can hear the surf, and see the most amazing stars at night! Loved the fresh flowers greeting us upon arrival. Can't wait for our next visit!

The house is wonderful and Tunnels Beach, just a few minutes away, is totally incredible! The house is spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. The deck is a great place to hang out between trips to the beach, and the AC cooled us down quickly when we got a little too warm. The house felt very private. We loved the high ceilings in the open main space, too. Everything was clean and comfortable and we really enjoyed the beach toys. Tunnels Beach is easily one of the best beaches we've ever visited, anywhere. Our 8 year old son swam, played in the water, and snorkeled for days, even though there was high surf out in the open ocean. Being able to walk to the beach was really relaxing. You need to pre-book, but the parking for Nāpali Coast State Wilderness Park, Kalalau Trailhead, and Hāʻena SP is perhaps 5 minutes drive from the house. There's also a shuttle but you'd have to drive much further (the opposite way) to catch the shuttle. The hike along the coast is spectacular and up to the waterfall is amazing but challenging. The property manager, Beaux, was super kind and helpful when our departure plans were disrupted by some flash flooding elsewhere on the island. That meant a lot to us. We hope to be back soon!

We enjoyed our stay here immensely! The house was lovely and had the most incredible views of the surrounding mountains from the back deck. Road noise was barely noticeable but birds calls were everywhere (including the wild roosters). We loved snorkeling at Tunnels beach with our kids and exploring the town of Hanalei. The house was clean and very well provisioned. We certainly hope we get an opportunity to come back!

Stayed here exactly two years ago and knew we had to come back. The house and location are perfect and, despite the short drive from Hanalei (which never gets old), feels like you're at the end of the world. The property has everything you could need on site and at the beach. Not sure if the grapefruit tree is part of this house or the neighbors', but next time I'm going to pluck one :)!
