Apartment Sunniva by LovelyStay

Beautiful, modern apartment with ample space for 2 people, 2 couples or a couple with a child as you have two bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is lovely outdoor space running along the apartment with a table and a few chairs. Lovely galley kitchen with excellent facilities including a little coffee machine, wine glasses and corkscrew. The apartment is quite high up in a modern block above a big shopping centre which has a very handy supermarket in the basement. It is about a 10 minute walk to town so not far from all the action, such as it is in Madeira! 😀😀

The block is on a main road, near a roundabout so the views aren’t great. You can see the sea in the distance! As a people watcher, I was quite happy though! 😜It’s good for working out bus routes too as there is a bus stop outside and the bus station is just up the road. It can be noisy at night with the traffic, especially at the weekend, but it’s not terrible and you do get used to it. Being picky (it really wasn’t a big deal to us), a bit more garden furniture would be good and would add to the ambience! It’s a very narrow space, but it runs along the apartment so you could fit another table and chairs in there. The TV was a bit odd; could only get German TV, but you could get Sky News in English and streaming services, so it wasn’t a big deal.

One of the nicest apartments I have stayed in. The apartment was well equipped, clean, spacious and extremely comfortable. The location was superb, above a mall and a very short walk into the main town. The apartment had all we needed amenities wise (utensils, dishwasher, washing machine, hairdryer) and the balcony was lovely to sit on. The parking space was also easy to use . We needed some clarification of the some instructions in the apartment such as the parking entrance but the hosts were responsive by text. They also recommended us a great car hire (Madeira Hot Wheels).

Roads could be a little noisy but nothing a pair of earbuds couldn’t fix!

Location was great. It is in a busy area very close to amenities. The apartment block itself is built above a shopping mall. Apartment was very well appointed and spacious, wifi worked well, nice large tv and loved the south facing balcony. Getting the door code and lock box code went very smoothly.

The only downfall was the noise. The apartment block itself didn't seem to offer any noise abatement. Cars driving by seemed to be right outside your window even though we were in the 4th floor. During the day this isn't a problem but at night it woke us up at times and I'm not a light sleeper.

L'appartamento vanta una buona posizione, a breve distanza dal centro. Un grande valore aggiunto è la presenza di un centro commerciale al piano terra della stessa palazzina, che offre la comodità di avere tutto a portata di mano, compresa una farmacia con servizio 24 ore su 24. Anche il parcheggio sotterraneo si è rivelato estremamente pratico. Inoltre, abbiamo apprezzato la disponibilità e la prontezza dei gestori, che hanno prontamente inviato un idraulico per risolvere tempestivamente un problema sorto in uno dei bagni, una perdita d'acqua e l'otturazione parziale del lavandino e della doccia. L'appartamento è completo di tutto il necessario e molto grande.

L'appartamento, sebbene situato in una posizione comoda su una strada principale, risente in modo significativo del rumore del traffico. ​Un'altra questione riguarda i condizionatori d'aria che, nonostante vari tentativi di accensione (anche con l'aiuto dell'idraulico intervenuto), non siamo riusciti a farli funzionare. Non abbiamo ritenuto necessario un ulteriore intervento, dato che durante il nostro soggiorno non ne abbiamo avuto bisogno. A questo proposito, l'idraulico ha risolto tempestivamente una perdita d'acqua e l'otturazione parziale del lavandino e della doccia. ​I bagni sono privi di finestre e di ventole di aspirazione. ​Infine, pur avendo trovato l'appartamento molto pulito al nostro arrivo, abbiamo riscontrato la presenza occasionale di formiche in cucina.
