excellent breakfast but better if on display in buffet form (though not needed for the hot food). liked the separate access and the roominess of the room. comfortable.

misleading description of location (given postal address of Eyam - 3.6 miles away). frugal offering of biscuits (only on arrival).

It was just perfect. So clean and in a lovely position. Our room was spacious.

We liked everything.

Spotlessly clean room with an impressively large, very comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious and genuinely generous — more than enough to fuel a full day out. Andrew and his family were brilliant hosts; friendly, hospitable, and full of fascinating local knowledge. The pub next door is an absolute gem — outstanding food and warm, professional staff (book ahead, it’s popular!). The location is the real star: hike straight from the doorstep, and a 20-minute drive in any direction reveals caves, dams, hills, and stunning country halls. We filled every day with something different.

As is common with older stone cottages, the room carries a slight mustiness and would benefit from a good airing before guests arrive. Some noise from downstairs in the mornings, though not a major issue if you’re up for breakfast anyway.

Great view, peaceful

In mid June the cottage was cold and felt damp. No ability to turn radiator or towel rail on therefore cold shower room - therefore not welcoming. Poor quality / cooked English breakfast therefore passed on that 2nd day
