Convenient and clean

It was quiet with comfortable beds and easy check-in. Effective heating. Good location.

There were no toiletries or slippers. Also no conditioner in the bathroom.

Loud noise at 5.00 am in a smelly room

-clean -close to train station -comparably cheap

Inacceptable: - I was woken up at 5.00 AM (!!) to loud noise coming from the wall right behind my head. It turned out that a noisy pump or whatever goes on whenever you take a shower. My neighbor must have taken a shower at 5am. This was a really loud noise lasting several minutes, so it was hard to fall back asleep. Could happen any time... - there was a sewage smell coming from the bathroom (it was of course strongest in the bathroom but you could still smell it in the room). You get used to it to some extent. Not completely though. Minor inconveniences: - TV didn't work - lamp on bedside table didn't work; light switch next to the door, so can't switch off light from the bed - long narrow and steep stairs to the room without a lift (room 7 is on the top floor) - water pressure in the shower was low and the water took long to warm - after entering the pin code at the doors you do not hear any kind of noise so I ended up entering the pin code too often (just push and the door will open though, there is no beep or click) If you have the budget to book elsewhere, do yourself a favor and do not stay here. I only stayed for one night and regretted it, despite the cheap price. If you are on a tight budget, though, you will survive since it is clean. Just expect to be woken up in the middle of the night and having to get used to quite an unpleasant smell.

The Orlando was exactly what I needed and wanted, which is why I returned - and plan to return again

This is my second stay at the Orlando, it is located exactly where I needed to be, a short walk from the train station. There are plenty of sources of food nearby (grocery stores, takeaway, restaurants) and had a small refrigerator, coffee and tea devices, a desk, and very thoughtful placement of plugs and USB charging connections. The host (Claire) helpfully responded to my one request, and provided careful, accurate instructions for all matters needing them. This is certainly my go-to location for stays in Cambridge.

The glass partition from the shower/sink/toilet took some getting used to. While the glass *is* frosted rather than clear, I'm not sure if I'd feel comfortable if I were not traveling alone. Since I was, it was not a problem.

Convenient but in need of improvements

Great location and clean

Broken chair, broken coffee machine (very sad about that) and the shower didn’t really get hot. Also in my room a horrible noise (maybe boiler or something) at 11:30pm and again at 6:30 pm

Cold

The room itself was very smart with a large tv and ensuite.

The room smelled of weed! The windows had been left open to air the room but all that seemed to have done was make it very cold. Unfortunately the radiator didn’t work so I spent a very chilly night in bed. The kettle cuts out before it’s boiled too. I contacted the owner and she did respond to me, but didn’t fix the problem or change my room.

Very bad, door street and lock to room not working, no personnel in the building, text only contact

Room was clean. Facilities fine.

The lock to the room did not work. There was no one in the building to deal with this. The owner-manager was only available by text. They gave me guidance to re-set the lock but this did not work. Also, the main door onto the street did not lock, so there was only one door between my room and the street and no security in the building. I was offered a locker on the ground floor to store my luggage but this did not sound like a safe option either, given the general security problem. So had to take my luggage with me to the event I was attending.

Short stay

Host was very clear with instructions on how to enter the hotel and room. Hotel had all the basic amenities l, a great stay for a short stay.

I didn’t like the smell, it had an old pipe, sewage smell (if that makes any sense) maybe due to the building being on the older side but also the walls were quite thin 🫣

Very nice place

We were in room 5. The bed was very comfortable, the mini fridge, the private bathroom, the shower was very noise cancelling, the TV was brilliant quality, lots of natural light, windows when shut were also quite noise cancelling. Little air conditioning unit was also very nice. Easily accessible with the same code for all the doors.

The room did get stuffy quite easily with closed windows, but that's no one's fault. Some guests in the room above were making noise or walking around at all hours, but still not the hosts fault. The first front door did seem like it might have been broken. The sliding door for the toilet did have a bit of a gap where some of the bed could be seen through it. Got disturbed by the cleaners a few times.

Great location and convenient check-in

Great location, just 5 minutes from the train station. The room was pretty comfortable for one person, although finding a place to open a big suitcase could be a challenge. Check-in was extremely convenient.

My room had a very noticeable sewage smell. The walls are also pretty thin and I could hear every time someone came in or when people would talk to each other. Thankfully, I had earplugs, so it was ok.

We enjoyed our stay but it felt like being in a student hostel rather than a hotel as advertised.

There was no one there to recieve us. The lock codes worked well though. Light from nexdoor window was on most of the time and disturdbed us. A simple blind in the bathroom would prevent that.

All pillows v firm and our room was right by the main door to the property which meant we heard other residents returning late. Would stay again but request first floor room if available. Great location for our family visit

The room was small as advertised and the location was good, close to the train station and to many amenities. They offer a convenient service of luggage lockers at the premises at no extra charge. Communication with the property was OK.

the room was too hot and had poor ventilation. It was very uncomfortable all the time and it was worse at night time. Although it had a small fan, it wasnt enough to cool down the room. I contacted the property about it but there was no answer. I would not stay again on my next visit to Cambridge.

Best night's sleep for ages..

Very convenient location near the station and buses to the centre. Loved the very comfy bed and the very high standard of cleanliness. The use of a locker after checkout made a real difference to my last day - also the recommendation to visit the University Botanic Gardens nearby. Very friendly and accommodating staff. I will definitely choose to stay again.

The location was good if travelling by train. The bed was comfortable. Quite a nice bathroom with a large walk in shower

The room was very hot, even though it wasn't hot outside. I couldn't leave the window open when not in the room or asleep as there was scaffolding outside. I couldn't get the WiFi to work. The shower was very low pressure

Good for a low budget stay

Was clean and close to location I needed to be for 2 days.

Door was stiff and couldn't get into my room. I tried to contact the staff with no answer, calls weren't answered even after several phone calls. In the end I had to ask another guest to help me, thankfully they managed to open the door but was very stressful. Room was nice but with glass door and walls for the bathroom, there's not much privacy if you are staying with others Shower wasn't very powerful, which was disappointing.

Okay accommodation for business travel

A quiet hotel on a few minutes from the railway station and a 15 minute walk form the historic town centre of Cambridge. Easy check-in and check-out, a nice room with modern interior, and a fan to stay cool.

The bed was advertised as a double bed but just a bit too narrow for two people, and also too short if you're tall. Unable to log in onto the wifi which complicated some aspects of the stay. Shower didn't work properly because of insufficient water pressure on the hot water line. Considering breakfast isn't included, it's expensive for what it is e.g. low value for money.

You have a little piece of my heart

Quiet location very close to the train station and within walking distance to The Corn Exchange. Basic, but felt clean and safe. Single room probably wouldn't suit someone 6ft+ with lots of luggage but perfect for me with my rucksack! Good vibes, and incredibly comfy and warm bed. Pin codes for all the doors worked perfectly, everything felt so nice and easy. I loved it.

Only gripe was the kettle, had to hold it down to keep it boiling. That being said, I still managed to have a hot cup of coffee!
