Amba Sewana Homestay

Ce Homestay a été notre préféré de tout notre voyage au Sri Lanka. Une famille extrêmement accueillante et aimable. On a été accueillis et guidées par l’hôte dès notre arrivée à un petit lac et un temple en hauteur pour admirer le Rocher du Lion puis durant le restant du séjour il nous a déposé au levé du soleil a une randonnée puis nous a montré Dambulla dans l’après midi. Quant au petit déjeuné et dîner, ces derniers étaient excellent. Également le meilleur repas que nous avons eu de notre voyage. Les chambres sont propres et fonctionnelles, munies d’un ventilateur. La salle de bain est également propre. Au final comme dans les photos! Vraiment cette famille a le cœur sur la main et nous allons nous en souvenir longtemps! Merci, Istuti!

Kind hosts, amazing food for breakfast and dinner. Host took us to all the places we wanted to go to and some extra spots as well. Very welcoming and unique way to experience Sigiriya

The homestay is about a 10 minute walk from the main Sigirya road so it's quiet. The host has a TukTuk so he can provide transport as needed. Just be sure to clarify pricing. He also took me to a small lake for a swim when he and others in the community were doing their laundry in the lake. The price is low but from being in town there are better similarly priced options that are more convenient to town.

There was a squirrel nest in the bathroom fan and the fan didn't work. There is a fan in the room (No AC) so just be aware. Also the fan is wall mounted so it can't be moved in the room for comfort. Initial communication through WhatsApp wasn't great but got resolved after we arrived. Overall it lacks feeling private but that's part of a homestay environment.

The homestay is run by a family. The hosts are warm, welcoming and helpful. The hosts has his own tuk-tuk which can be of help. The accommodation is surrounded by nature.. trees, fields and a garden.

My room was damp and the bathroom had poor ventilation, the exhaust fan did not work and the flush too had some issues. The place is does not have a lake view or a carpet. The room, though big, felt cramped with 2 beds.
