The Phoenix Boutique Hotel

The location was excellent, the room was spacious, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, despite these positives, this was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I've experienced while traveling across many countries. At check-in, the Agoda auto-payment had not gone through, so we were asked to pay at the hotel. The hotel's card machine repeatedly declined our cards, even when using physical cards. We eventually had to find an ATM, withdraw cash, and pay additional withdrawal fees just to complete the payment. The biggest issue was the air conditioning. It stopped working on the first night and remained out of service for two days. The hotel only provided fans on the second day. Sleeping at night was extremely uncomfortable, and because of the heat, I ended up booking full-day tours for three consecutive days just to spend as much time as possible outside the hotel. The swimming pool is also much smaller than it appears in the photos, so don't expect to do much actual swimming. Additionally, access to the sauna comes with an extra charge. While the location, room, and staff were good, the payment issues and lack of functioning air conditioning seriously affected our stay. I would strongly recommend the management improve maintenance and payment facilities to avoid similar experiences for future guests. Rating: 2/5 ⭐⭐
