Staff were excellent. Went out of their way to help us when we had an issue with our car. There was a mini fridge which we hadn't expected. Large full English breakfast cooked to order.
It is above a pub so there is some noise but was all finished by about 10pm, so didn't bother us.

We were made to feel welcome when we arrived and were quickly shown to our room. The room we had was a bit tight in terms of space with nowhere to sit other than on the bed. The bed was however extremely comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. The bathroom was a lovely size with a really good shower.
The room was equipped with a fridge, a kettle and a very good stock of tea and coffee. There were also shower gels and other toiletries available.
The red lion is a pub with rooms rather than a hotel and it does this well.
The staff are friendly as are the locals and we had a very good stay.
You enter the hotel through the small bar which when we arrived was quite busy with locals a separate door is available for residents and it might be good to use this for new arrivals.
Breakfast although good was only available between 8.00 and 9.00 which meant a long lie was not possible if you had paid for breakfast.
