Quiet location but within easy reach of Hartland Quay and the SWCP. Cosy and comfortable cottage.

Perfect stay in perfect surroundings

The hosts are lovely and the cottage is clean, well-equipped and very quiet with some wonderful views. We loved the welcome pack, home baked cookies, bread and eggs from the resident chickens and the warm welcome we received on arrival. Everything we would ever need was provided for our week stay including a BBQ, Wifi and a well equipped kitchen. Its so rare to get a two bedroom property with two bathrooms. Plenty of room for 4 adults. The location is slightly isolated though a very short drive from Hartland for pubs and shops and an even shorter drive to the free car parks for the coast path to Clovelly (3 mile walk) or around Hartland Point to Hartland Quay (4 miles). The coast path to Hartland Quay is spectacular. Large supermarkets are in Bideford which is 10 miles. Thank you so much for making our stay so warm and comfortable. I can totally recommend Bumble Bee Cottage without question, it's the perfect getaway from it all

My stay in Bumble Bee Cottage

The cottage was comfortable and Karen and Mark were lovely friendly people. I went with my daughter for 4 nights and we had a lovely stay. It was nice to sit out on the terrace and the paddock was so handy for letting the dogs out in the morning and evening. Couldn't fault the cleanliness the beds were very comfortable and the showers were lovely. It was a beautiful view every morning and was easy to get to places to walk the dogs

Nothing really. Just an observation that the dining room table was a bit of a squash to sit round. Perhaps a smaller table and chairs, but that was just our opinion. We thought walks would be a little closer, but it wasn't far to take the car to the nearest beach and Hartland Quay.

Thank you to Karen & Mark for being amazing hosts. They were warm and welcoming and went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable! We particularly enjoyed meeting Lottie! It’s a great location for the south west coast path and we loved the homemade treats!

The warmest of welcome from Mark and Karen. Cottage well equipped. It was obvious from the start that the hosts had put a lot of thought into what a weary traveller would appreciate after a long drive - freshly made bread ready and waiting; milk, butter and eggs (from free range hens in garden!); basket with fresh fruit and other goodies. Lots of suggestions of what to do in vicinity. Coastal path accessible within an easy walk from property. For eating out can highly recommend The Farmers Arms in nearby Woolsey. Hartland Abbey was a very pleasant surprise - beautiful and interesting house and extensive grounds for relatively easy walks to walled garden as well as to a very dramatic 'beach'. Lucky to be visiting just as bluebells were coming out. Clovelly is well worth a visit too but beware anybody with mobility problems, very steep and lots of cobbles. Even the weather was kind to us.

Only very minor point - dishwasher proved to be a bit of a challenge to get started. Figured it out eventually but simple step-by-step instructions would be helpful.

Peaceful and comfortable, with welcoming hosts

We had fresh eggs from the hosts, we had a welcome pack with many essentials including wine. There were secure areas for the dogs, illuminated path if we were out after dark. There were a large field area which was dog safe to walk our dogs. the location was peaceful, and not a sound after dark. There is a large veranda with comfortable chairs.

Super friendly hosts, beautiful clean cottage - a thoroughly enjoyable family stay.

The owners/hosts, Mark & Karen, were very welcoming (as was the super cute "Lottie"), super friendly and informative of things to do in the local area. Karen had made some lovely home baked goods and fresh eggs, milk and butter were provided - all were a surprise welcome gift. The cottage cleanliness was to the highest standard and the decor in each room was lovely. The views of the countryside and sea glimpses were great to wake up to. We could not fault our stay and would recommend anyone to book a stay at Bumblebee Cottage!

Bumble Bee Cottage was a beautiful and clean cottage and ideal for our family holiday (4 adults & a dog). The owners, Karen and Mark live next door together with their gorgeous dog Lottie and they couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly - a welcome pack, eggs, butter etc and prosecco in the fridge together with home made cakes on arrival - amazing! The cottage has everything you could possibly need including a large decking area outside with fabulous views - we had alfresco breakfasts and dinners - it was so peaceful. A great paddock to exercise the dog too! We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. Thank you Karen and Mark and the lovely Lottie

Excellent cottage, beautiful location and highly recommended.

The location was great with an enclosed terrace which was great for our small dog and would be really handy with small children. The cottage was extremely clean and had everything we could have needed including a great dog pack, fluffy towelling robes, very well equipped kitchen and a hose sprayer for the dog. We had a great time locally visiting Hartland and surrounding villages including Clovelly.

It is always nice to feel delighted on arrival and leave feeling all the benefits of a holiday.

Our hosts were thoughtful and welcoming, we were delighted on arrival. We enjoyed the rural location and within walking distance to a beautiful part of the the coast. We felt vey fortunate to be able to book for for a short break although it is the kind of beak where you wish you could stay longer.

Karen and Mark were most welcoming. A lovely cottage with superb views and beautiful walks.

A very clean, inviting and comfortable cottage with wonderful views and all the facilities we could wish for. Our dog Max loved meeting the chickens and sheep not to mention the walks! We shall be returning!

Lovely stay

I liked everything about the cottage, we had a lovely stay. Everything was clean the towels were super soft and smelled amazing!

There's nothing that I didn't like! The downstairs toilet didn't flush properly but once you got the hang of it, it was fine. That's really splitting hairs though, I thought it was lovely.
