Wonderful property on top of the hill above Como.

Beautiful property on the hill above the town of Como. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fresh and wonderful. They had coffee and tea available 24 hours. The walk down to the town and the lake is pleasant. Very enjoyable stay.

The villa was nice but the service was disappointing

Breakfast was good, location was good, villa impressive

We were charged 50 euros for turning up 40 mins after the check in window. This extra charge was not advertised during the booking process. Only once the booking had gone through did the confirmation email mention the strict check-in rules and the fact that checking in after 7pm would incur a 30 Euro charge. The manager completely ignored this and insisted on charging 50 euros.

Beautiful setting preserving old villa luxury like the libary, furniture, sound system. Incredible!

Just some mosquitos in our room that were very annoying and also it was possible to blackout all the light on the room (because of this i woke up early the morning).

Relaxing and easy stay!

The property is secluded, beautiful and a great location. Everything was clean and our room was tidied daily. The breakfast was delicious and the staff are friendly and helpful. When I travel I like to stay in areas a little further away from the crowds and this was perfect! The Villa is approximately 10 minutes by taxi to Lake Como. You can ride the buses for less of a walk as well, but we chose to take the ~20 minute walk one day and it was very easy.

The property is beautiful

Difficult to get our heavy luggage to the reception area. Although there was an elevator to the third floor there were quite a few stairs just to reach the reception area.

It feels like you are living in the past. Beautifully decorated and the attention to detail is incredible. Worth a revisit. Staff are supper friendly and helpful. Car parking facilities available is a plus! I will Definitely go back!

20 min walk home from main town was it my favourite part but help digesting our several corse dinners.

Loved the charm and breakfast daily! Just yummy!

Only bad thing was the flushing of the toilets, really bad, due to old building plumbing! Wouldn’t bother us if there was only 2 adults, was an issue when there was 5 of us daily. Really need a car with this location. So pretty once here though!

Beautiful place and a very welcoming Owner

I loved the place its quite classical which I like, very comfy beds and acres of space and nice terrace. The owner, Emanuella , is a very nice lady, who was so welcoming and great with my children. We arrived late and she waived the late check-in fees for us. She was so helpful and it was a pleasure meeting her in person. The location is alright its a 15 mins drive / taxi to the lake or about 35 mins by foot. Plenty of restaurants in the area about 15 mins by foot. Free parking on the property is definitely great if ur driving.

Very disturbing incident happened where I received a text message from the receptionist Ms. Alison while I was out in town telling me that during a room inspection ??!!!! She found out that I broke some rules by bringing in food ?? I found it very unusual and bizarre to have room inspections I never heard of that before. And the attitude was quite aggressive as well. Unlike the owner on the hand who was quite nice.

amazing, will stay again in the future

amazing house manager, very friendly, recommended a traditional Italian restaurant for a birthday celebration which had delicious food. the rooms we had as a group were so comfortable and felt very homely, with views of the lake in the distance. breakfast was good. rooms had air condition, so great for hot summer days if you need it.

Enchanting, comforting, relaxing, dreamy, and perfect.

Everything about Ronco Dell'Abate far exceeded my expectations. You arrive through a massive wooden gate that opens up to a beautiful lush garden that has scenes of Como in the background. The building itself is a stone time capsule that it so well maintained. Our mouths dropped when we arrived. The owners of Ronco gave us a very detailed tour of the home and explained to us all of the historical elements that make it so enchanting. We ate breakfast their all the days we stayed and let me just say...it was the best, most beautiful, delicious breakfast that we had in Italy. The hosts and their generous hospitality, the rooms, the amenities, the wine, the windows (yes the windows), the parking situation, location, everything was just amazing. We absolutely loved our stay at Ronco Dell'Abate and I promise you will too! We feel so lucky to have stayed here and can't wait to be back!

Relaxing, educational, gracious

Silvano and Therese were marvelous, outstandingly helpful and very engaging. Their affection for the property was palpable. Great large suite with terrace overlooking Como. Wonderful antiquities and art lovingly presented. Breakfast was great. Therese is also a sommelier. We had a tasting of Italian wines that was most informative. Enjoyed our stay immensely.

You MUST stay here!

This place is truly magical! The photos just don’t do it justice. The history behind the building/sculptures/paintings and the architecture was simply incredible. The rooms come with a separate living space and was very comfortable. The host Silvano is very lovely and hospitable. The breakfast was so good and the dining room was quaint and gave you that at-home feel. The perfect place to come and relax - bring a book. You won’t regret staying here where you can unwind somewhere very serene.

The location is a 20 minute walk into town, but we were aware of this fact when we booked this gem, so we didn’t actually dislike anything about this place.

Superb

We loved this hotel which was full of character with parking. Our room was lovely and we had a balcony with a great view. Theresa was very friendly and made sure we had all our needs looked after along with information about how to reach the lake side.
