Clean facilities, fire pits excellent.
Site needs some work as a winter venue, lacking gravel so very muddy and no way to keep this out the lodges-no mats. No ice compartments in the communal fridges so no way to refreeze ice packs.

Great location, especially with kids….lots of space to explore. We went on October so the temperature was a little cold at night but the heaters in the tent keep it toasty warm. Staff are there to great you as you arrive and offer wood for the fire pit.
Toilet and shower block were all clean.
Kitchen area was clean and tidy, free use of a fridge if needed.

Friendless of staff. Lovely walks, near sea & countryside. Listening to the owls at night.
Could be bit noisy with traffic, as country park open 24 hrs & in the still of the night noice travels.

The team were so friendly helpful and down to earth. The facilities were so clean, and tidy and had everything that was needed. The range of cooking utensils, crockery, teas and coffees supplied were great. The hut we stayed in was great, clean, big enough for me and my two children. My children were safe and were able to happily explore the site without any worry. Access was easy and clear instructions were given for arrival. It was a stress-free holiday.
That I didn't book for longer!

I did not have breakfast, but the location was perfect for my stay as I was at Victoria Park for an annual fun day with my company
I think the fridges are rather small for 3 tents , which could be three different families to share, especially when people go food shopping for a barbecue.

The tent was spacious, the facilities was brilliant they had everything you needed and was clean. The way the tent are set out it brought eveveryone together and the location was beutiful right next to county park
There nothing I didn't like the only thing I would ask them to consider is to hire bedding out. Only because this was our stop off before a cruise the next day and taking the extra bedding was abit of nightmare.

I’m quite outdoorsy, so was content with the simplicity the place had to offer. Alison was really chatty and lovely. Cute accommodation - basic but has everything you need. Loved the rustic feel and all of the woodwork. Kitchen had everything and more - not that we cooked this trip. Dog friendly, and not too far from some great places to explore. Probably even nicer when the rain gets lost!
Showers are either really hot, or cold, and don’t run overly well. Could do with floor matts or those wooden ones for when you step out.

Quirky and thoughtfully appointed with hot drinks provided, electric blanket to keep to cold at bay. Lovely little touches.

As always, the surroundings of the country park make this place special. The kitchenette is well stocked with lots of things you might need even down to teabags abd sugar by the kettle.
Great undercover seating and cooking area which now has a six burner stove and full size oven. Enclosed with canvas 'windows' in poor weather to keep you comfortable.
Cabins are cosy with little electric heaters and heavy curtains so dark if you want a lie in.
Huge comfy sofa, handy table and chairs and plenty of hooks to hang stuff.
The hosts go all out to make the communal areas festive and inviting and the loos and showers are no frills but alway very clean and functional.
The site is literally a stone's throw from the remains of the old military hospital and we did the tower tour. Brilliant views and well worth the 166 steps to reach the top!
Top tip: take wellies as the site can get a bit muddy/puddley in very poor weather. Otherwise the site is cleverly lit so you can safely get to and from facilities without lots of light pollution.
An ideal base for exploring the country park or venturing out to Southampton City for shopping and entertainment.
Unfortunately we booked NYE thinking it would be more chilled, being in the country park and assumed there wouldn't be any large groups staying. There was and having decided to set up thier 'party' in the covered eating area and make use of the great quality installed speaker system, meant most of the early evening was very heavy bass dance music, even in the cabins. In fairness, they didn't go on til really late but it kinda felt like the two older couples booked onsite had to just accept it. It also meant you walked through the racket to get to the kitchen facilities.
I felt sorry for the host who did their best to keep everyone happy and did reduce the volume but it was a shame as we had booked to avoid our noisy neighbours at home.

Cabin was cosy at night, the toilets, shower block were clean and loads of hot water .
Kitchen area was tidy and fully stocked with milk tea and coffee.
Bed was uncomfortable as the mattress didn't fit it's pallet base.

Beds were so comfortable . Toilets showers were very clean . Open cafe to make tea coffee as and when you wanted
It was a trek from the bust stop .. down a dark country lane .Was told by taxi driver not allowed to drop us off nearer campsite

The cooking facilities it was above and beyond.
Not having a mop in showers, it ended up being very dirty, and I would have cleaned myself before and after use.

Such a friendly place to stay. The staff were so helpful and nice. The tents were comfortable and the general feel of the site was so relaxing. The kitchenette and facilities were kept really clean and there was always someone to speak to in the day if you needed anything else to make the stay more comfortable.
The only problem I found was that our tent was behind a big tree which limited our sunlight, and also our ability to see the children playing on the grass from the decking.
