Humberto Guest House

La atencion excelente, Humberto Guest House es como sentirte en casa, recomendado.

Located at a very doable 15-20 minute walk from the main square (plaza de armas), this unassuming looking guesthouse is an excellent place to stay during your walks and treks around Huaraz. Rooms are standard and clean. The hosting family is super friendly and helpfull, as they can arrange some good starting trips for you. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be provided on request and are very tastefull, varied and good value for money. This can be your home away from home in Huaraz.

It was a very nice experience staying with Humberto and his family, they are all super friendly and nice! Humberto even picked us up from the bus terminal and had to wait 2,5 hours as our bus was late (we were very sorry about that but it was no problem for him at all). The rooms are very quiet, clean and colorful. We also had delicious vegetarian breakfast and dinner (plus very good soup) several times during our stay which could be asked for even very spontaneously. Thanks a lot!

We haven't met Humberto, because he was on a trek. We did meet his lovely family who were very kind and helpfull. At their place you can also have breakfast and dinner for only 10 soles per meal and person. I really recommend the meals you can get. These meals were so good! (Maybe the best of whole Peru we had). The oldest son can speak english very well and booked a tour for us to the pastoruri glacier. We were expecting an spanish guide, but he was picking us everytime out of the crowd and tried to give us information in English aswell :)

The wifi was pretty bad. It's okay to send messages with whatsapp, but that's about it. The tours you can book in the centre are around 5 soles cheaper than at Humberto's, but it's nothing.
