Great stay at Funky Guest House

We had a lovely time at Funky Guest House and Adventures. The location was perfect, close to everything. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was really good. The owner was kind and welcoming. We definitely recommend staying here!

Decent stay for a fair price

Spacious and clean room, in the centre of Permet. Breakfast is typical Albanian.

WiFi was spotty. The curtains didn’t block the bright street lights from the square at all, and they stayed on all night.

Airco was blowing ice cold air. If you open the windows the dogs outside on the street were making a lot of noise. Bed was not very comfortable.

Cozy and affordable stay in the city of Permet

The location was perfect, right in the middle of Permet center. Staff was friendly.

Breakfast was basic but fine for the price. However, it became quite repetitive as the same items were served every day. A bit more variety, such as fruit salads, croissants, or other sweet options, would have been a nice touch. Regarding the cleaning, it wasn’t explained to us at check-in that a more thorough service, including linen changes and floor mopping, only took place every 2–3 days. In addition, housekeeping sometimes entered the room even though we called out that it wasn’t needed. This could easily be prevented by providing ‘Do Not Disturb’ / ‘Please Clean My Room’ door signs, as most hotels do. I know that the hotel does not currently offer a minibar or mini fridge, but this could be a great investment for the future. During the summer heat, it was difficult not being able to store cold drinks or food in the room.

Wonderful stay at Funky Guest House

We just had a privilege of staying at the wonderful Funky Guest House and highly recommend it! It has a true 'traveller' feel to it, social, easy-going, and with a passion for the area. It is run by Avenir ('Av') who has excellent English, is welcoming and easy to speak with, and can organise local tours (we did the rafting on the river with them - do not miss it! Best day of our trip). Funky Guest House is located in the centre of Permet, on the square and perfectly located to walk anywhere in this little town. We were there in August and the town bustled at night, creating a wonderful, joyful atmosphere. We were always welcomed back to Funky Guest House like friends. Breakfast was a welcome addition ( bread, eggs, local preserves, coffee, meat slices & veg) how reasonably priced the guesthouse is. We stayed in the mountain view apartment as we are a family of four with teenagers, and there was plenty of room. I had a little look at the other rooms in the guesthouse which all looked beautiful. If you have travelling in your blood and are lucky enough to be visiting Permet and the surrounding beauty (don't miss a walk into the Langarica Canyon down the road), don't hesitate to book this wonderful guesthouse!

Great location and hotel when in Permet

The location was great. Walk to the river where you can swim, pickup for our rafting trip right outside the property, walk to restaurants. The family apartment was spacious and the breakfast was nice.

A good option in Permet!

The guesthouse is very well located. The manager and his parents were friendly and welcoming. They even went out of their way to arrange a viewing of the Women’s soccer Euro Cup final for us—such a thoughtful gesture! We also booked a horseback riding experience through them, which was absolutely fantastic.

Our mattress could definitely use an update, but aside from that, everything else was excellent.

Nice time

Very central, clean and nice staff. Rooms are spacious enough. Nice water pressure in the showers. Comfortable bed and pillows. It’s on top of a cafe/bar but it wasn’t noisy. Breakfast included is the standard Albanian: byrek, salad, cheese, bread and sausage; milk and cereal; drinks.

No blackout curtains, other than that, everything was great

Amazing place

Guesthouse is great, staff is wonderful. Great Aperol Spritz at the cafe looking on town square. We also did a rafting tour with guide Adi (who took great photos!) and it was amazing, had such a great time. Price was reasonable and the rafting in July was also fun for our 5 year old son. Definitely recommend!

Qëndrimi ynë në Funky Guest House ishte një përvojë fantastike! Vendndodhja është perfekte – në zemër të Përmetit, afër çdo gjëje që mund të të nevojitet: restorante, kafene dhe qendra e qytetit. Dhomat ishin shumë të pastra dhe komode, me një ndjesi të ngrohtë familjare. Stafi ishte jashtëzakonisht mikpritës dhe i sjellshëm, gjithmonë të gatshëm për të ndihmuar dhe për të dhënë këshilla për zona përreth. Mëngjesi ishte i pasur dhe me shije – produktet dukeshin të freskëta dhe të bëra në shtëpi. Një tjetër bonus ishte mundësia për të organizuar aktivitete si rafting, çiklizëm apo ecje në natyrë – të gjitha nga vetë guesthouse-i. Na pëlqeu shumë atmosfera e qetë dhe ballkoni me pamje nga qyteti. Për një qëndrim autentik dhe relaksues në Përmet, absolutisht rekomandojmë Funky Guest House! 🙌

A fabulous beautiful stay with memorable adventure experiences

The accommodation was beautifully decorated throughout, with thoughtful personal touches that showed a positive caring outlook. All added to a relaxing and happy stay. Our room faced the main square with great views of both town and mountains, while the windows kept all the noise out. The double bed was very comfortable, the ensuite bathroom modern with a powerful shower and everything spotlessly clean. The breakfast buffet was extensive and very tasty. Seating was on the first floor indoors or on the large balcony under a covered canopy with great views over the surroundings. Downstairs was a good bar area with great service. Locals sat at tables outside greeting friends. Lots of good restaurants nearby as well as cafes, shops, banks etc. All in all a fabulous stay and excellent value. Best of all, the hosts also arrange and lead wonderful outdoor adventure experiences. We went horse trekking and whitewater rafting. All communications with Avenir and his wife were excellent and in English. Thank you for a delightful holiday. I will remember it for a long time.

Perfect location in Permet

Funky Guest House in Permet is located right in the centre of town on a corner of the square. The guy that runs it speaks excellent English and took good care of us. There is a bar/cafe on the ground floor, with seating outside on the square, well liked by the locals. Brreakfast is served on the first floor and had a good variety of food, with a lady in attendance brewing tea and coffee and restocking the buffet. Rooms were spacious, very clean and with a view of the square. Comfortable beds complete the picture.

Perfect location at the center of Permeti, close with all facilities. We enjoyed the breakfast with simple, organic bread, butter, cheese and tea from mountains flowers, and a variety of jams! Very clean the room and the hotel and very friendly the staff!

We loved out stay

The location of the hotel cannot be better, right on the central square, easy to park right outside the hotel. The hotel is very clean, quiet, recently refurbished, the most amazing breakfast I had in Albania. We had a large two bedroom suite, beautifully decorated and very comfy. Great attentive service from everybody we met at the hotel. Great recommendations for activities in Permet.

I would mention that there is a street light in front and the light of this street lamp can be disturbing at night. I would recommend to install full black out curtains which would easily solve the problem. I still give 10/10 to the hotel because it really is perfect.

Great place to stay in a charming town

The staff are friendly and the location is great. The room we had overlooked the square which was ideal to people watch. The beds are comfy and the room has good air-con. Breakfast is fairly simple but offers everything authentic to Albania - so preserved meats, white cheese, preserves and coffee. There is cereal as well but not much.

Everything was great, especially the hosts. The room is clean and comfortable, and the breakfast is delicious, and you can eat inside or on the balcony. There are many activities to do in the area, and I booked the horse riding tour with Funky Adventures. It was an amazing experience, and Avenir made sure everyone was having a great time. I highly recommend staying here if you have booked a tour or joining a tour if you are staying.

Amazing stay in Permet thanks to the host

Nice guesthouse, with a very clean and functional room. We booked a horse riding trek with the guesthouse and we loved it! The host, Avenir, was super helpful: he gave us lots of tips (good restaurants in town), helped us to book a bus, was very accomodating and always happy to help. Thanks!

I enjoyed my stay very much, it's really good value for your money

Funky Guest House is run by a very kind family, who do everything to make your stay comfortable. It's in the heart of Përmet, with a nice view on the square and the mountains. The staff is also very kind, towels and linen changed regularly, great shower with sliding doors. My room had a very big window and I enjoyed sitting there very much.

Such a lovely family run place right in the middle of the center. We had a room with a view of the central square in the city and still had no problems with noise. Definitely a recommendation!

Very good

The location is perfect, and the staff really helpful. We also booked white water rafting with them which was great. The accommodation is located right in the centre which is perfect for people watching. Breakfast is a buffet so you just take what you want.

Parking is terrible. The police were continually going round looking to give tickets out, but the owner does a good job of looking out for you
