Apartments Lara with more affordable parking

Location excellent. Nice walk to city centre. Easy to get taxi home at the end of the day

I was very much under the impression that i had booked a balcony. My confirmation said either that or a terrace. The accommodation denied that this was correct and informed me that I should have made a special request. The apartment we had was very nice but the lack of outside space was a great disappointment. We did have 2 windows to the road so it was not very quiet early evening although the traffic did drop off at night.

- Very nice and helpful host: He was always reachable and willing to help when we had two major issues that came up during our stay. He also gifted us a bottle of champagne. - Well-equipped kitchen: The kitchen had everything we needed, including a large fridge and freezer. - Coffee machine: There were enough coffee pods for one coffee per person each morning. - Spacious room: The room itself was a good size and comfortable. - Beautiful roof terrace with stunning view - towels, a hairdryer and a 2-in-1 shower gel. - Keyless access - Comfy bed

- Price vs. value: We paid €382 for two nights (around €191 per night), plus another €50 for parking and city tax. At this price, we had high expectations. Unfortunately, we don't feel the apartment offered good enough value for money. - Three of our towels had visible stains - Clogged shower drain: The shower basin filled up incredibly quickly because the drain was clearly clogged. We repeatedly had to turn the water off because we were worried about flooding the bathroom floor, which made showering quite stressful. The shower also had a crack on the floor. - The shower didn't have a basket, shelf or anywhere to put our own shower products. - The toilet paper was extremely cheap and rough. Both my partner and I experienced significant irritation and discomfort after using it. For the price of the accommodation, this really shouldn't be an issue. - Location: Although the roof terrace has a beautiful view, the apartment isn't in the centre of Piran or directly by the beach. It's also situated on a very steep hill, and you have to carry your luggage up two floors. The roof terrace requires another flight of stairs. Given the price, we don't feel the view alone justifies the cost. - Ants in the kitchen - There is only one rubbish bin inside the apartment, but guests are expected to separate their rubbish into glass, plastic and paper. The three corresponding bins are downstairs at the main entrance, meaning you have to carry the separated rubbish down two floors. - My biggest gripe, the staircase leading to the roof terrace is open to the communal hallway rather than enclosed. Our apartment has the only access to the roof terrace and there is a glass door leading from our apartment to this staircase. If another guest leaves the communal hallway light on, it completely illuminates our room at night. We had to go ourselves to switch it off multiple times before sleeping and hope nobody turned it back on.
