Manju Homestay

We spent four days at Manju’s place in August and had a wonderful time. The two bungalows were simple but had all the essential amenities. We always had dinner at the homestay, and the food was different every evening and absolutely delicious. Manju also arranged safaris, excursions, and some transfers for us at very competitive prices. We would definitely recommend staying here if you are in Sigiriya. We truly felt at home!

Like everywhere in Sigiriya, since the area is surrounded by greenery, you may come across some small insects.

It was clean, the room was big, it had AC and the breakfast included was always delicious. We especially liked that it was a bit different every day. The host was really nice! He organised our ride to Dambulla caves and to the Pidurangula rock for sunrise, and then even a ride to the bus station the last day. All were very good prices for the ride. He also told us about everything we can do, and he helped us with organising if we needed. He is also a safari jeep driver, but we had already been to safari so we didn't join his.

It wad a bit far from Sigiriya if you wanted to walk (around 35min walking).

Excellent stay, very close to the main Sigiriya village and an absolute bargain for the price — it has everything you need. Manju and his wife are wonderful hosts, extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. They were very attentive throughout our stay, with Manju giving us plenty of advice, suggesting activities and even helping us organise a safari. We also had homemade breakfast every day, which was excellent and a real highlight. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and genuinely felt like part of the family. We would happily come back!

Minor drawbacks were inconsistent Wi-Fi, occasional roof noise and water not always being hot.
