Manju Homestay

Clean good sized room, A/C works well. Shower only lukewarm, but not really an issue in this climate. Good Breakfast included. Also great dinner of Chicken Fried Rice one night - Rs 1,500/person.

Plenty of room for a few more home comforts such as a kettle, cups and a table and the bathroom could do with somewhere to put clothes when showering. The power point between the beds was very loose. Not sure if the other power points (different types of plugs) were able to be used. Wifi kept cutting out, but fortunately Manju got that sorted when he got home from work.

We liked everything about this stay. Nice, clean and big room and bathroom which are very comfortable and of good quality. We took a daily trip to Dambulla Caves, to Polonnaruwa ancient site and an elephant safari in Minneriya National Park with Manju, all went so good. Manju arranged a transport for us also to our next stop. He is an honest, reliable and pleasant person. We stayed 6 nights and every night we ate dinner there. I must mention about Dila's (Manju's wife) tasty meals. We wholeheartedly recommend this place.

We had a fantastic stay for 3 nights here. Manju and his lovely family were extremely friendly and accommodating - they brought us a big delicious breakfast every morning and Manju offers tuktuk drives to and from activities/restaurants. We also did a four hour safari through the homestay which was a very fair price and a great experience. The room and bathroom were both very comfortable and clean as well ☺️

Our stay at Manju's Homestay was amazing. Manju and his family couldn't do enough to help us. We had excellent breakfasts and they prepared a really good curry on our first night. We were only going to stay for a couple of days but ended up staying for eight days. We were able to hire bicycles locally for 1000 rupees, and the cycling of the Sigiriya back roads is some of the best we have done whilst in Sri Lanka. During our stay we had to go to Colombo to extend our visa, and Manju arranged a lift with his brother-in-law Lali. The guest house is set in a beautiful jungle garden and we even saw fire flies one night. Hopefully we will be back one day!
