Keerthi Homestay

Hospitality: The family is incredibly kind and welcoming. They made us feel right at home from the first moment. The Food: The breakfast was delicious and very filling. We also asked for dinner, which they prepared for us—it was homemade and absolutely amazing! Highly recommend eating here. The Garden: They have a beautiful garden filled with many fruit trees. It’s like a little tropical paradise. The Room: The accommodation is simple but very clean, which we appreciated. Close to nature: One of the most unique things about this place is its proximity to nature. The hosts are very responsible and advised us to stay within the property between sunset and sunrise, as wild elephants occasionally use the road nearby. 

Since it was rainy during our stay, small frogs kept coming into the bathroom through the drainage system (even into the toilet). This is just part of being close to nature and not the hosts' fault, but good to be prepared for!

My partner and I had stayed at a homestay in nearby Kimbissa in 2019 so we were looking for something similar within walking distance of Lion Rock to share with our friend this time round for 2 nights. Keerthi's homestay was clean and very relaxing. The hosts were kind, helpful and attentive without being intrusive. We had both rooms - the Standard Double Room and Deluxe Family room - giving us exclusive access to the large verandah, table and seating. The host cooked a lovely multi-dish curry for us on our first night which we enjoyed in the leafy and balmy setting with some cold beers and soft drinks. Keerthi also kindly organised an early breakfast the next day so we could get to Lion Rock early. The property is in a quiet location - apart from the odd barking dog - about 20-25 minutes walk from the ticket office near the base of the rock.

The shower in the standard double room was lukewarm. This didn't spoil our friend's enjoyment as she was able to use our shower in the Deluxe Family Room.

Merci mille fois, c’était un début de séjour incroyable avec vous, je recommande!! Keerthi m’a conseillé et emmené dès que j’en avais besoin, sa femme fait super bien à manger et ils sont tous adorables. La chambre est très bien.

La família que porta el homestay es increïble. Et reben amb un suc de benvinguda i t’ajuden a organitzar-te el viatge, sense pressions de contractar res amb ells. L’esmorzar estava molt bo i la ubicació era molt tranquila. L’habitació i la zona exterior eren genials. En Keerthi es molt atent i es preocupa per a que estiguem bé en tot moment!
