We thought the location would be nice but after a few days of walking up and down the road, we wished we would have stayed closer to town. Stay here if your trip is very short or you are willing to hire a vehicle/pay for taxis a lot

Nice, clean and friendly place to stay!

The hosts were both so kind and helpful. Our room was lovely and clean with a good shower and nice beds. Our hosts helped us book an amazing day tour of the national park, as well as a taxi to our next stop! Breakfast was included which was good, eggs, toast and coffee! We then ate our evening meal at the property on our last night and it was so tasty, definitely recommend!

Nothing! The only slight issue was WiFi didn’t work in our room but… it did work in the social areas!

Nice quiet place in the woods. The hosts are nice too. The room is large, clean, with a/c and hot shower (water tap is cold though). They offer simple meals too. Cool music in the restaurant.

Loved it!

I loved how relaxing and homely my stay here felt. The rooms were simple yet comfortable and same with the bathrooms but this gave an authentic feel. The highlight of my stay here was definitely the staff! Eid and koom go above and beyond to help and just make you feel at home, they are such sweet people!

Beautiful relaxing stay!

I loved everything...the beds and towels were clean..the showers hot...the food served in evening fantastic...basic breakfast...the hosts were brilliant...such lovely helpful people...they made my stay....and arranged my fantastic day tour (1500 baht)...and ongoing transport to Koh Samui...thankyou x

The accommodation is more rustic/jungle style...which I expected and enjoyed to be honest. It wouldn't suit someone who is looking for 'up market' accommodation.

Quiet place in the green. Excellent hosts.

I stayed 2 nights and had a great time. This is a lovely resort in the green managed by the most kind and hospitable couple. Eid and Koo are like friends and do their best to make your stay a happy one. I loved everything here: the pond and green ground, with a variety of trees and birds to watch; Eid cuisine: loved the fried fish with chilly sauce; the open lounge music: liked Koo's selection. Eid can help too with indications of places of interest and with tour bookings.

Hotel price, hostel experience

The husband Cum was friendly throughout our stay, the jungle tour and also the mini van to Surat Thani were well-organized and the meals were good.

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at Khaosok Homestay Resort. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. We had booked a room with mountain views and a private bathroom. However, upon arrival, we were assigned a shared 4-person cottage, and the bathroom facilities were also shared with other people. The room was not welcoming and felt like a basement without any outside views. When we brought up the issue about the bathroom with the owner, she explained that the room we booked was damaged in a storm. We suggested that she could make it up to us with a free meal, which she awkwardly agreed to. However, when we told her what we wanted to eat, she told us that we choose meals that were too expensive. We agreed to pay a little bit for it. Afterwards she unexpectedly insisted that we only receive a discount of 100 baht on our dishes and excluded drinks from the offer. When we confronted her about it, she weirdly told us we didn't have to pay anything after all and asked if we wanted anything more. For us it wasn't about the money but it was about how she spoke and acted to us. We felt uneasy because she treated other guests more kindly, and it seemed like we were being penalized for expressing our thoughts about the room. Interestingly, we discovered some similar complaints in a review from four months ago, suggesting a pattern of miscommunication. While we understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, we believe the owner should have updated the room details or informed us appropriately. It felt unprofessional and misleading. When we checked out, the owner remained silent and didn't bid us farewell, leaving us with a negative impression. Shared bathrooms are not an issue, but if we had wanted that, we could have booked a more affordable hostel with a better location. Discovering this when we were already in the middle of nowhere was disappointing because we felt like we didn't have a choice but to stay.

AMAZING

If I could rate this more than 10 I would! If you have the opportunity to stay with Eid and Kum take it! They are the most lovely and welcoming couple who make you feel so at home. Their food is incredible and the location is simply beautiful. The common area is a great way to chat with other travellers and if you’re lucky Kum might even put on a live show for you. We couldn’t recommend this place more and we are sad to leave. Thank you!

Jungle Paradise

The owner couple was super cute!! They helped us book some awesome tours. We can really recommend the lake trip! The entry area is amazing, you can relax there, have a coffee and look at the small pond. The price-performance ratio at this stay was unbeatable :)

The rooms were pretty small and don’t have a lot of luxury, but we never expected that in the first place. For this cheap price it was still awesome!

Disappointing treatment by owners.

Nice common area with good views.

I’m sure the owners will be expecting a negative review from myself and ready with an answer to argue my objections but I can’t see how. If you book things with them and are spending extra money through them, they’re more than happy to help, otherwise the kindness is shut off. Taxi booking was made, we had confirmed with Kum we were just getting our bags and as we did so, they sent the taxi without us resulting in us almost missing our transfer to Koh Samui. We booked this transfer online hence the lack of help. They would not even try and help us get another taxi and we had to order our own which is difficult to do. This taxi was much more expensive and thankfully another guest who had overheard helped us as we had no cash and was shocked by the treatment we received. Rooms have bug splatters over the walls so doubt they’re cleaned often. At the end of the day, take the kindness with a pinch of salt and don’t expect too much.

Beautiful homestay

Wow - what a lovely couple. Eid and Kum (sorry if I have misspelt) made us feel so welcome and their home is in a lovely peaceful location. Eid helped us to book onward travel and also offered delicious home cooking which we enjoyed several times! In the evening Kum and another person staying at Khao Sok Homestay entertained us with guitar and singing which we all enjoyed. We hope we can stay again in the future!

There is nothing that we didn’t like but for those staying more than one night I would recommend hiring a scooter as the homestay is a 5minute drive from restaurants etc

The couple who take care of the place are really reallyyyyy kind. They make you feel like home and Ead is the best cook ever. They will do anything so you have your best time. The place is a bit aware of a very touristic street so you are in a quiet peacfull place. Really perfect!

The most wonderful and authentic stay!

Eid and her husband are absolutely amazing hosts! By far my favourite accommodation experience since being in Thailand. We enjoyed a wonderful stay at their Homestay, with home cooked food and even a live performance from Eid’s husband, a talented guitarist! Falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle around us was magical. Thank you Eid!

Nice place to stay, but would have preferred to be closer to town

The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Eids cooking was delicious, and the homestay is nice and calm. The rooms were basic but clean and had AC which was a plus. We were also able to rent a scooter and book tours at the homestay.

The location is quite far from the central Khao Sok strip - walking takes around 45 minutes or more and the only other way to get there is via taxi or renting a motorbike.

Eid and her husband are sooo friendly and help you with everything. She cooks very tasty food when you order from her and helps you organize tours. There are many dogs, cats and chickens running around on the large property. The room has its own bathroom and very comfortable beds.
