The accommodation not so good; the restaurant - highly recommended.
We booked the room because we planned to eat at the restaurant. The room was just satisfactory but the meal at the restaurant was outstanding. We had the Valentine's Day tasting menu. Each small dish was delicious with some unusual flavour combinations. Breakfast was not offered but there is an excellent cafe nearby - The Lawns.
The double room was advertised a 'deluxe king room' which it certainly was not! It was not very large and there was only one chair. The pillows needed renewing. The shower had brown marks around the edge. There is no parking at the hotel. The nearby Lawns parking is convenient but quite expensive for long stay parking.

Host very welcoming on arrival Location was excellent as was very near to the Castle and shops ect Beds were very comfortable
We booked two rooms for one night and one bathroom was very cold as the heating was not working properly and the bedroom pipes were noisy therefore sleep was disturbed. The front bedroom appeared to be unaffected and was nice and warm

Great location. Very clean, comfortable room. All the amenities were there. The bathroom was good, it was warm in the bathroom when you stepped out of the shower. Can't fault it, really. Coffee making facilities. Very nice room.
Very little. I'm not a fan of the doorknobs with the combination locks but that's maybe a bugbear of mine as I find then a bit awkward.

Location was close to castle. We arrived early and they were kind enough to let us drop bags etc Tea and coffee facilities, biscuits
Quite dirty. Hallway entrance carpet is dark and dirty, indoor hallway was filthy, covered in dirt. Bedroom carpet stained but hoovered. Cobwebs over ceiling, ceiling light, some bulbs need replacing . Bathroom contained very dirty toothbrush pot, silicone around shower was black. Brhind freestanding mirror was dirty and cobwebs in bathroom.

Great location. Welcoming host. Nice modern room. Good breakfast.
The standards of cleanliness could be improved. The stairs and hallway leading up to the room needed a good vacuum. This clearly had not been done for done time. There was a clear footprint on the white bathmat.
