The Castle Collection - 25 Castle Street

Great apartment with more than you would need for a short stay. Really well kitted out with lots of home comforts in the lounge/living space in the loft. Especially for a family with young children. Gorgeous view of the countryside from the Velux windows. Two very spacious double bedrooms. Large bathroom with separate shower cubicle. We didn't use the kitchen appliances as visiting family in the area, except the fridge. Folder with lots of local information and flyers/leaflets for takeaways. Quiet area. On street parking. Quick communication with host.

Bedroom windows would benefit from having blinds or something as very exposed at front and the back. We had to close them to get dressed/changed during the day. No door hooks in the rooms to hang clothes, although their was a wardrobe with hangers and coat hooks in the landing. Mirrors were dusty and wall mirror was far from the dresser to apply makeup in light! Bathroom doesn't have a fan, although has a window., so did get stuffy/steaming easily. No hooks to hang clothes. Plug cover missing in shower cubicle. Shower position in large bath means it can only be used whilst seated and water sprayed outside it. May be a screen/curtain would be useful. Shoe stand in the downstairs by entrance would be useful for walking boots/outdoors shoes.

Lighting was poor. Cleanliness wasn't the best. Communications were decent but not the friendliest. Considering the vast size of the apartment, storage and hanging space were poor.

Central location.

On a very busy/noisy street - with people drinking outside until late/early morning and then a short gap until lots of noise early in the morning ie approx 4am from bin collection and street cleaning. There is no double glazing so all noise could be heard in the apartment. Also no air con and couldn’t open the windows due to the noise so the apartment was hot and stuffy.
